No, it's not magic or a miracle cure all, but it really worked well removing some BAD heat circles on a used coffee table a friend game me. This product requires work. I found I got the best results using 0000 steel wool and getting a fresh piece rather often. It takes some scrubbing but it's so much less work than stripping, sanding, pre-treating, staining, and lacquering. Vigorous scrubbing (WITH the grain) will also remove some shallow scratches and swirls. I have included some pictures of my results, before and after. It took me about 90 min to scrub and wipe down my coffee table with more than adequate results.

This worked crazy miracles for a cherished family heirloom coffee table that came to us beat up after nieces had mistreated it with water marks, heat marks, scratches going against the grain from improper cleaning an then later a nephew knocked a glass of red wine over it and it bleached the wood horribly. We almost got it professionally refinished which would have been a shame to lose the original finish. So, glad we didn't! This product restored it back to almost perfect condition. On the really bad areas I concentrated my scrubbing until looked as best I could get it.

This stuff is AMAZING! I will absolutely use it again in the future. We inherited a dining set from the 1940s and it was heavily damaged from years of canning on it's surface. With some sanding and this finish it's almost like new! The product increases the color of the wood and erases scratches!

I found a video on Youtube discussing how to use this product so I decided to see how much it improved the appearance of my 25+ year old cabinets. I was amazed at how they turned out! They looked so good when I finished that I decided not to replace them! This saved me lots and lots of money! The Golden Oak color was an excellent match for the builders grade Honey Oak color in my kitchen! I am very pleased with my purchase! The picture is of my sink cabinet when I was done and it was in the worse condition!

I must admit, I had my doubts about this product, especially since Old English got such great reviews and did nothing for my cabinets. This product is absolutely the best. I chose the dark oak Restor a Finish because it looked closest to the color of my cabinets and it was. I started out trying the product on a very small area that had a tiny, but deep, scratch. Much to my surprise, the scratch disappeared with one coat. I then decided to tackle the worst cabinet, our microwave cabinet that was horribly scratched from years of moving the cutting boards (stored on the side of the microwave) in and out. I have included before and after pictures. This product goes a long long way. I did all of my cabinets and have a lot of product left over (and that was after spilling half the can...I suggest that once opened and you start to work that you put the inner cap back into the top). After using the Restor A Finish, I then added a coat of Howard's Wax and Feed (again, it goes a long way and I applied it liberally). IMHO, the Was and Feed is a MUST....just to seal your cabinet and have an extra layer of protection. I definitely recommend this product, not just for cabinets but for any furniture need.

Our kitchen cabinets had the finish nearly worn off of them as well as many scratch marks from a dog that previously lived here. It made them look dirty and faded and gave our whole kitchen a very gross feel. I had my doubts that something could work this well, but saw some people's photos and thought I would give it a try. It really does work! It doesn't remove the scratches, but blends the colors so you can't see them as well. It was very easy to apply. Just wipe it on with the grain of the wood and then wipe it dry. The results are immediate. It's very satisfying to see something old and faded come to life again. I've refinished wood furniture before and know how time consuming that can be. I wish I'd known about this stuff a long time ago! You can see in the before photo, I just did one cabinet door (the left one) and got a picture so you could see the comparison side by side.

Dull wood, scuffs, water damaged wood, cr@p you bought off Craigslist for $10... This will make it all look FOINE👌 Pro tip: don't fuss about the color too much. It won't look off even if the shade isn't exactly right, as this is only very lightly tinted. If the wood is in really bad shape, here's what you do: 1) sand lightly with 0000 steel wool 2) apply this stuff with a rag and let it sit overnight 3) apply a wax, such as beeswax and buff

We are redoing our master bath in a 1991 townhouse. All golden oak woodwork, everywhere. And the bathroom vanity is solid oak with space for two sinks. To replace it would have been custom cabinetry costing almost $1000. And probably not as good quality. I tested the finish, determined that it is varnish, and got to work. Using Restor-a-Finish is really easy. I wiped down the cabinets to remove dust and surface grime, applied the RAF as directed and went back over any rough areas with 0000 steel wool. It took about 45 minutes for the whole vanity and looked pretty good. Then the next morning, it looked fabulous. What goes on as a polish hardens into a glossy finish - some kind of magic! It looks like a new vanity. I did the drawers separately since they were in worse shape, and was able to finish areas that had never been finished. Even internal damage from water looked a ton better. I line them with plastic to keep them clean and avoid any stains. Now I plan to get started on all the woodwork in my house - banisters, door frames, kitchen cabinets, the whole place. I actually did my initial testing inside the kitchen cabinet, and now I want them all to look this good. Use disposable gloves and cotton shop cloths, and have a glass or disposable container to dip into. Toss all cloths and gloves, since they are flammable. But this was so easy and the results were better than they show online so you should not be nervous. Just match the color to your project and do a little test somewhere inconspicuous.

Oooh, this is great stuff. I got a little side table to match some new furniture my wife recently bought. Found the table at a thrift shop for like $7. Had some marks, scratches and chips and the wood looked pretty dull. After putting wood putty in the chips and letting it dry, I applied this stuff. It does several things, it cleans marks including drink rings, boogery hand prints, unidentifiable black marks and more. It blended in some of the lighter scratches or just where the original stain was worn. Keep in mind though, this is not a full on stain and while you do need to match your wood color as best you can, it isn't for straight up raw wood. It brought a lasting brilliant shine to the wood, like you would expect from something brand new. I couldn't believe the difference it made, like night and day. If you got really bad marks it says you can use 0000 steel wool with this to clean, just be careful, go with the grain and read the instructions on the can and not this review for how to do it proper. Granted I did find this brand at a hardware store for a couple dollars less, that store (or any other store in my area) just doesn't carry Cherry color. Totally worth it though, it restored, or restor as the name says. You put a bit of this on a soft rag and wipe on in circles, kind of like in the movie The Karate Kid, if you saw that (the original one, not the newer Jackie Chan version). You might wanna wipe off (using same circle motion - wax on, wax off) with a dry rag to remove any excess. Let it dry. Wipe again the next day if needed. Enjoy your Restor(ed) finished wood! Oh and don't use your wife's good washcloths or anything to do this, or they will be ruined and she will get angry.

I live in an apartment in NYC, when I moved in 6 years ago the floors had “just been refinished” in a gut reno but to be frank they were not great. I let way too long go by without addressing this with my landlord and the floors just got worse and worse. I didn’t want to have contractors in the apartment so I gave this a shot and I am NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! I should’ve gone one shade lighter but I think my floors have some more charm to them now. I did one coat of the restore and let it breath for a few days before topping off with feed and wax. They look and feel great!! Honestly, and it was so easy to do I was able to do the whole thing myself. The fumes weren’t bad at all and dispersed pretty quickly with an open window. I’m thankful to give my floors new life without having to sand them down and start all over!
