EXCELLENT QUALITY FOR THE PRICE! After I received mine in the mail I brought it to a local Toyota dealership who happened to have an OEM Toyota 22R exhaust manifold in stock. They allowed me to compare the two and other then the fact that this one is made in China while the Toyota one is made in Japan, you can't tell the difference. As a matter of fact the gaskets that come with this kit are actually of better quality then the Toyota OEM ones. They are slightly thicker and not as easily bendable as the Toyota ones. I would say it took me about 2 hours to remove my old manifold and install this one. I took my time and made sure to slowly tighten all 8 nuts up to 31lbs. All the manuals say you can set them from anywhere between 26 and 34lbs so I decided to go right in the middle. So far all my previous leaks are gone and my engine is running much smoother. I MUST mention that the heatshield bolt holes go completely through so I decided to put a small amount of Permatex 81878 Ultra Copper RTV Silicone sealant around the underside of the bolt head and the underside of the heatshield (around the bolt hole) and a little bit on the threads. I didn't trust just the bolts to make a good air tight seal. Both the OEM Toyota and the Dorman manifold have the holes going completely through which really seems odd to me. My original manifold had the holes sealed either by the factory or by someone else so I didn't expect them to go clear through the manifold. So again, make sure to either plug the holes like I did or if you don't intend to use the heatshield at least make sure to plug them with the provided bolts while using some copper RTV sealant.

Toyota 4runner 1st gen

I bought this for my 87 4Runner because it has an exhaust leak at the stock manifold. So let me say that this game with all the gaskets that are involved in the exhaust manifold and the components it mounts too. When you start it up for the first time expect alot of smoke, I recommend doing this in a well ventilated area. This is typical as the gaskets are heating up, burning excess gasket and ensuring an airtight seal. So don't worry and think your truck is going to catch fire. The hold mounted right off and it was a very easy install. I recommend spraying down your bots with wd40 prior to removal of the old one. Great product, fixed my exhaust leak. All together I would say it took about an hour and half to do the remove and replace.

Cost effective!

Everything matched up, gaskets are good quality. The previous review mentioned that the portholes aren't quite round like the OEM, but it goes right up against the gasket that is rounded. As long as the metal on the manifold supports the gasket and doesn't restrict airflow, you're good (the one I ordered wasn't quite round and didn't restrict exhaust flow.) One notable thing is this one seemed to be a bit more solid than the original. I've never seen the OEM heat shield, this one doesn't look quite as clean as expected. Then again if you are going for looks and function you would be shelling out the cash to Toyota.

Dorman exhaust manifold

Still can't believe the price on this exhaust manifold with all the gaskets. it fit just right and now I have a totally new exhaust system since I git the truck. Great deal!

Perfect Fit!
