Replaced original steering stabilizer on 2003 Wrangler TJ with 168,000 miles. Although old one still had a little resistance, this made a HUGE improvement in the steering, and really firmed things up over bumps, etc. I didn't have death wobble or anything, but wow the steering is very much improved by replacing the stabilizer after so many years.

I have a 2003 GMC 1500HD 2wd that I put a level kit on and some 285s. I also put KYB mono max shocks on it as well. The truck drove, well, like a truck. All the front end parts are good and had a competent person align the truck but it still had minor bump steer. I had the bracket and hole in the steering linkage but my truck wasnt originally equipped with a dampener. After installing this, it made a significant to me dofference. It drives a lot smoother and less like an “old truck”. Very happy. I do recommend getting a reamer to clean the hole in the steering linkage. This helped me fully seat the bolt in stud for the dampener. Again, if you don’t have one, install this. It will help a lot. If you have one that isn’t worn, not sure it will make a difference.

This Steering Damper is very good and the right choice for Jeep with oversized tires. Fits perfect using factory mounts on a 2008 Wrangler JK. Took about 20 minutes, one person. Completely removed the death wobble. Now I can be calmed and drive with confidence without the feel of the Jeep running off the road every time it hits a bump. After mounting, ensure to do the proper length piston adjustment to make sure the tires rotate left and right freely all the way. Just replacing the factory one with the Rancho might not have the proper piston adjustment. Highly recommend for Jeep owners with oversized tires who are concerned about the death wobble.

This is a great stabilizer for over sized tires. Having said that; if you’re having death wobble on a wrangler this may not fix your issue. If you buy a steering stabilizer and continue to have DW, you need To have your front end looked at by a mechanic. There are a number of things on Jk’s front end that can cause death wobble. Bad bushings, loose track bars, and oval’d out bolt holes are just a few.

This steering stabilizer is great! I bought this same exact one for my jeep YJ back in 2002 and i never had any problems with it even though the dust boot filled full of mud! I took the boot off and it continued to work great for many years. Until i had to replace all of my tie rod ends and i messed the stud up trying to remove it. So i ordered another Rancho to replace it with and im sure it will provide another 15 years of hard use.

My Jeep never had a steering issue. I put bigger tires on it and I knew the steering stabilizer was original. Jeep is a 1997. With the Rancho installed it really does dive like new.

These shocks were a great choice for a light truck such as my jeep wrangler tj, a major upgrade from the worn out shocks on my 4" lift kit. It did take me opening every box to figure out what shocks were what. The packaging was a bit confusing (steering stabilizer, front and rear shocks all had the same box with a different shock set from what I ordered on the packaging pictures!) but it only took opening them up and a little bit of knowledge to realize everything was there and in good shape. Also make sure your hands are clean if you are going to put the Rancho Stickers on the shocks! they do not come with them applied already.

I had a problem with constant control to keep the YJ going straight down the road at highway speeds. This has really taken the stress away and helps considerably. Recommended. Easy to install. Used the old drag link to save the heart ache of putting the new one in.

Works great. I installed this steering stabilizer after removing the rancho 7000 steering stabilizer off of my 2008 wrangler. Installed in 30 minutes. This steering stabilizer takes all the wobbling and bump steer out of the steering wheel. Excellent replacement for the OEM stabilizer if you have a vehicle with large tires. Also, this stabilizer does not make the vehicle pull to the left ( this is an issue I was having with the Rancho7000 stabilizer). The only thing I do not like about this stabilizer is that it is white and his has a red protective boot. Overall happy with this install.

I installed it wrong the first time and had to get a replacement bolt. these people were great and sent out a new one that day. Thanks guys
