I wanted to have some of this handy as I began my first AR build...now, multiple AR’s later I can’t believe how often I find myself reaching for this stuff. Absolute necessity when installing AR accessories. Works well, and I feel I got excellent value for my money. UPDATE: I have now used this product at least two dozen times on everything from red dot sights and anti-walk pins, to QD attachments etc...I haven’t encountered even one issue. I put a drop on the screw in question and install, and it stays in place. Very simple. When needed, I have had no issues loosening any screws to reposition etc...This product works as well any other name brand product, IMO. I definitely give 5 stars and I still recommend. ******************************* I rely heavily on reviews when I make purchases so I put some time into reviewing everything I buy on Amazon for personal or business use so I can help other people considering that item. I build small mechanical stuff that needs to be taken apart for repair but is subject to high vibration and shock. This stuff is great and much better value than Loctite 242. There is a caution however. Don't use this on brass inserts in plastic as it eats plastic and it ate away the rubber mounts where I put it on the bolt threads of the shock mounts so be sparing and careful around those materials but overall it works great and is easy to apply and use.

I use this all the time for scopes and accessories mounted on guns. Works very well, nothing has backed out on me. When you take something off that had this stuff on the threads, there will be a white crumbly residue left over. Just use a tooth brush or something to wipe it away, and it'll be like new. This stuff just works.

The product does exactly what it says it will do, it locks down threads without cementing the screws in for life. I needed to set some tiny metal screws into polycarbonate. The screws were constantly unthreading and I did not want to have to torque them down at 75 lbs. The smallest drop of the Permatex kept them in place, and when I needed to remove one screw for a sample in order to get more of them, it backed out with the expected amount of pressure. I have since used this on door hinges that tend to come loose and the problem has gone away. Good job Permatex!

I've used both Permatex and Loctite for 45 years, Permatex for form in place gaskets and loctite for securing nuts and bolts. This time I found the Permatex thread locker for significantly less than Loctite and gave it a try. It works just as well in an outdoor application that experiences a lot of vibration. The blue thread locker can also be removed with heat if needed. Loctite red is there forever. Permatex is a little more viscous (thicker) than the Loctite and is a little less runny on a horizontal or upside down application. Each product has about the same open time and in the big picture are just as messy to use.

Product is a great product which works. Can't say more about it EXCEPT that I thought I'd share my "discovery" when using the threadlocker. In my case, I needed to have some length in order to reach the screw in a deep, narrow space. Remembering that I had bought some small gauge blunt tip needles (bought on Amazon) for use in filing some small plastic bottles for another purpose, I thought that one of the needles might fit on the nozzle in the tip of the Permatex threadlocker bottle. Lo and behold! it did fit closely enough to be able to use the needle to deliver a very precise amount of threadlocker to the screw. Actually, it delivered just a small drop of threadlocker without having any waste. I haven't checked to see if the threadlocker would clog the needle afterwards since I have an abundance of the needles but, my guess is that if I put some isopropyl alcohol into a syringe (which I also have) and flush out the needle afterwards that the needle could be used endlessly.

I used this product on my knife handle screws and it worked nicely. But be warned that it is easy to use too much and end up with a mess you will have to clean due to the runny nature of this product. Use of this product requires a light hand to keep mess down to a minimum. But it works great and is easy to remove if the need arises.

Easy to use, holds nuts in place until you're ready to remove them. I like using a single drop on the bolts that hold the brake caliper to the axle. It gives me peace of mind as I've seen a few bolts back out due to vibration, especially on a Jeep that goes offroad. But since I know I'll be undoing the bolt to replace rotors or axle parts in the future, I don't have to be worried about fighting with the bolt and an impact gun to loosen it when I need to.

Permatex makes good stuff and is reputable in both the consumer and industrial space. I appreciate the technical information being included directly on the package so you know that you're using the right product for the right application, and what other options are available for different applications.
