Heres the fix for a dead Vortec. PLEASE READ.

Bought for a 1998 Silverado with a 5.7 Vortec. These engines are notorious for distribitor/spark issues, especially due to aftermarket distributor caps. Delphi/ACDelco are the ONLY caps I recommend to install as the cheap ones from the parts stores/online are very prone to jump spark inside the cap in the plastic between the paths from the rotor to the wire connectors. Do NOT cheap out. Buy this. The truck came in with a no start issue, had spark but very weak spark. New cheap cap and rotor were installed 6 months prior. Installed this and a matching rotor and fixed the issue.

Distributor cap worked great in my 99 escalade. Was after market replacement for the oem part that is recommended for my vehicle.

Perfect fit

No problems ,perfect fit helped get my Suburban running good again, also bought rotor and plug wires ,plugs, they were AC/Delco Delphi cap worked great.
