Bought VHT Satin Black & Gold paints for our motor. Both applied very well and came out looking great. I did use Rustoleum 2000 degree primer before applying these paints to the motor. I also used the gold paint on the brake calipers and covered with rustoleum 2000 degree clear coat. DO NOT USE VHT Caliper Paint. It was terrible....but this Engine paint is great!

Used on the engine. Works really well and it has stayed put for 4 months at least (everyday driving in a turbo vehicle, seen extreme temps).

Good coverage and proper color for my circa 1960s Chrysler engine (after I tried Valspar Plasticoat Chrysler Blue which had inferior coverage and the WRONG COLOR! I will be purchasing more of these now that I know for sure it's right. One can painted the intake, the valve covers, water pump housing, thermostat housing, etc.

VHT paint is great as always what can I say? Used this to prime the aluminum block on a predator 212 bike engine and it came out great. I wasn’t expecting it to have the ceramic? flake in it but in the end it came out nicely with the VHT black oxide case paint over it. Good, durable gas/oil resistant stuff as long as you prep the surface well and bake it after curing.

I painted three different parts on my brand new motor 2. Yes ago. The VHT was on the block and heads . The valve covers (aluminum) we’re done in duplicolor they have peeled and the intake manifold was also duplicolor clear. Is now yellowed realy bad. I believe duplicolor owns VHT now. Just stick to VHT engine ENAMEL .for a higher gloss they have engine enamel clear.

I haven't yet run the engine with the painted parts, but the application was easy and the results look awesome. I've used other paints that require a proper technique to come out nice but this VHT was easy to use. The satin finish is very nice. Just what you'd expect from the name - not matte, not glossy.

This review is really just about ease of use as I haven't really tested the durability or heat resistance, but I wasn't going to dock stars just because I didn't know. I can say, this went on super smooth and the nozzle tip never clogged. It gave a nice full-looking layer.

Clear coated my Subaru valve covers, baked the coats on between and it came out crystal clear. Small bubbled in the corners at first but they disapated when I baked the finish.

I used the VHT engine enamel primer, paint and clear to cover the corroded, discolored aluminum on my motorcycle engine. I have seen other painted aluminum engines begin to flake and peel. I did not want this to happen. I cleaned the aluminum w acetone, primed, painted and cleared and cured according to VHT instructions. This paint MUST be cured properly. Until it is properly cured it is pretty fragile. 2000 miles and a year and a half later the finish on my engine is still in really good shape. The paint sprays on really smooth and even. Great coverage. I recently had to strip and rebuild my engine. I am here now to order more to re-spray it. I highly recommend this product.

I used VHT Paint (Primer, Satin Black, and Clear) to restore my motorcycle wheels which had over 100,000 miles on them and looked pretty beat up. I really like working with VHT spray paint and is my first choice for a number of different applications from brake parts to engine blocks. So when I was looking for paint to restore my wheels, I turned to VHT. This paint spray nicely - and dries to the touch in 30 minutes. They suggest two light coats followed by one medium coat allowing 10 minutes in between coats. All coats should be applied within 1 hour. Any additional coats after the one hour - you need to wait 7 days for the paint to cure. This is about the only spray paint I have found that you can actually use rubbing compound to polish out the final coat and achieve a really smooth, glossy surface. My wheels look like brand new
