Great product, but here's how you can mess it up. First off, really important to NOT over fill. Once you fill to the line, mix the product well until the white dust that is in with the dry mac noodles makes the water cloudy & has NO lumps. If you skip this, you will have clumps of weird dried noodles stuck together. Next, know your microwave. Mine is a Panasonic 1300w. BTW, this brand is by far the best since the power level feature is like a rheostat, so, if you lower the power level, it actually stays ON the whole time, but lowers the actual power output... OMG this is how a microwave should be, not full power 70% of the time when on power 7. Anyway, figure yours out because mine boils over every time if i go the full 2 min on high. One trick is to go lower power while going less time. When you go less time, you need to let it sit in the microwave for about an extra minute after cooking, the residual heat will still cook the noodles. After you get your timing/power level figured out, dump the cheese powder in & mix thoroughly.... I mean really mix the heck out of it... something happens to it & it thickens if you really mix. Now you can enjoy once it cools to your desired temp... but, I like to doctor it up a little by adding a pinch of crushed red peppers, a dash of hickory smoked salt and a little too much fresh ground pepper. Hope this helps!

I really like Annie’s and this Mac & Cheese is really good! I did have a couple of issues with it though, but these are easily remedied. First, it says in the instructions to use COLD water. I don’t think it matters at all what temperature you use. Second, I used an 1150-watt microwave and by following the directions, about half of my water boiled out and my pasta was still hard. So I added more water to the fill line and cooked it again at a lower power (level 6) and that worked perfectly and still left a bit of moisture to rehydrate the powdered sauce packet. All-in-all I highly recommend it, but you may have to work out the cooking kinks depending on your microwave wattage. Definitely worth the time though!

Annie’s still makes the BEST boxed macaroni and cheese . The shell variety cradles just enough of the saucy cheesy goodness that it makes for a delicious bowl of mac. Try it if you haven’t already. It’s also fabulous with add ins like: Chopped steamed broccoli Chopped steamed asparagus Peas Chopped bacon or ham Buttery bread crumbs on top and bake until browned Add a can or more of Tuna or Albacore (packed in water and drained) for a punch of protein

Delicious and easy to make! To get a really creamy sauce, mix the sauce and water separate so you can get rid of all the lumps and get the powder stirred completely. We usually add a little bit of (vegetarian) butter to help keep everything smooth and creamy. We use soy milk instead of water. Since everyone's preference is a little different, go easy on the water/milk. Add a little, stir, and if it's still too thick ~then~ keep adding. If you accidentally add too much, your mac and cheese will be watery and you won't be able to fix it.

Annie, if that is you, this is a Real & Tasety product..... but you must seaze on my moment with you. Recipe must add 1/2 cup of water following noodle cooking then dump in the ventage cheese stur and add 1/4 cup of hot water stur. Ladies this is the best but your current recipes on the packet allows the Golden mixture to dry out .. it must be wet slightly when eaten. Then a WORLD hit, the aged cheese taste is real.. if only the noodle is wet. Go to your mothers house, order it, prepare to your directions- taste. Then perpare a second packet to my directions. This is a National Hit in the perfect little kits with college students ..... if you use my recipe for the greatest cheese/ noodle product mix and size in modern times. The Best for you Ricard Slaten .... Yummie!

I really love these little bowls. Not too big, not too small. Here is my secret tweak that takes them a step beyond being really good... 1. Prepare product per instructions and microwave. 2. Add to the cooked mac noodles: * one pat of butter (don't skimp - it's buttahhhh) * 2-3 Tbsp of milk * contents of cheese envelope 3. Stir it vigorously clockwise with a fork. Make sure to scrap along the bottom and bottom sides. Then stir again counter clockwise. 4. Enjoy!! Don't skip the butter. It really does give this mac that finishing touch, or that certain creamy smoothness. It's both an improvement in the taste and in the mouth feel.

BEST MAC AND CHEESE EVER. I've tried every single brand of mac and cheese cups available to me. Horizon brand was too chalky and clumpy, kraft tasted too artificial, velveeta was too goopy. This mac and cheese blows all other mac and cheese out of the water. And it's organic on top of that. The only con I could think of is that it is pricier than other brands, but I'm telling you, it's worth the money.

I have been eating this for years and have seriously probably eaten a thousand boxes total. I will share with no shame that I am a full-grown adult who still eats this at least once a week. It is quick to make, delicious to eat, and cheap. This is a great price for it too. I don't think I will ever get tired of it.

These are a great price on Amazon! In my grocery store, they sell for about $2 a box, so this is quite a deal. The taste is great, I like that it seems more substantial and healthy than other Macaroni & Cheese products. The noodles, because they are more substantial, do take a longer time to boil. It is worth it, but this not a super quick snack to make, it does take time. I love the white cheddar flavor, it's great! Not salty, very smooth. Would buy again!

New recipe update: I’m keeping the stars the same. The stuff cooks the same (we’ve always boiled ours for 11-12 minutes) and I realized that I’m supposed to dissolve the milk, cheese, and butter together before adding the pasta back in, so now it is smoother. I was very hesitant about giving the new recipe to my son because he has probably consumed hundreds of boxes of the stuff. So, everything mixed evenly. It tasted almost exactly the same. The pasta was even softer. Only thing I didn’t like was the color change. It’s a deeper orange and my kiddo noticed, but he took a bite and approved. I mentioned nothing about it being “yummier.” We often dissolve a slice of mild cheddar cheese into ours as well, so that stayed the same. We still recommend and love it, but would love the color toned down. Old formula reviews: Oh Annie’s pink box pasta. Little did I know when I became a parent I would be fixing a box of this 4-5 times a week. We add a little butter and milk and it’s my 6 year old son’s absolute favorite. He can eat an entire pot of this stuff by himself sometimes. My son has sensory processing issues, so we don’t have a lot of foods he will eat. This has been a staple for years now. Maybe going on 4? Don’t ever change. As for me, it’s hard to get the mix completely dissolved. My son nor toddler daughter care and gobble it down. My son makes me turn the pot upside down to make sure every last bit is out. And it’s organic enough that it’s okay to have daily right? :)
