After having bought a few icepacks the last year i found this was the one i liked the best. Large size and easy to wrap around a knee or get on the back. Feels high quality. it has held up well over about a year of pretty good usage. this is the one we seem to use the most in my family. The weakness is that the plastic could be bit thicker. I haven't had any issues, but we are careful. Also i noticed that some higher end packs have a side that has some insulation to keep the temp safe. This doesn't so you'll need to use a towel. Given the size i am sure it is a cost issue. overall a great ice pack. Note we had ordered a few and most came looking really cheap, or smaller than expected, and had some issues. this is the only one i personally ordered that i liked, so we are pretty picky.

I bought 2 of these to use after total knee replacement. At times, I alternated (1 in the freezer, 1 on the knee) & at other times used both at the same time (one on top of my knee & one on the bottom). They worked well both ways. The large size allowed me to wrap it around my knee. I used it with a towel between the pack & my skin & another over the pack & that was comfortable. The size also adds weight to it & that weight pressing down on my knee actually felt really good. Because of the size, weight & flexibility I was able to drape it over my walker I used right after surgery which made it easy to carry hands-free back & forth to/from the freezer.

This product performed well in the first few weeks, it cools fast and I can use it more than 5 times a day. I bought a smaller black one and a slightly larger blue one. The blue Colpac started to leak after 3 weeks at one spot, in another week, it leaked at two more pin holes along the seam of the pac. This rendered the pac completely useless. I have giving it three stars and holding my fingers because the smaller black one did not spring any leaks and is still working perfectly. It truly gives me an even cooling effect on my quads and knees. DJO customer care refused to replace it initially and Amazon withdrew its return button. After posting a one star review, DOJ called the next day offering to replace the product. Waiting for instructions to return as of 8/21/23018. Added one star back while I am waiting waiting

I purchased this for my dog who is having some major hot flashes. I really didn't think that was possible for dogs. I wasn't quite sure how it was going to work out but let me tell you, SHE LOVES IT! She is a fairly smart dog and she even tells me now when she wants it. Mostly around bedtime for her. I just put it under her blanket and she goes and lays her head on it right away. I put in the fridge and it cools pretty fast. Put it away during the day and give it to her at night. It is a fairly decent size and being a dog is using it daily I have had no issues with snags or holes or punctures of any kind so it is very durable. I am very happy a family member recommended this product to me :)

I have had this product for 1 mo now. Following rotator cuff repair surgery amd returning to work 3.5 weeks later I needed something portable, to be kept in the freezer at work. This after utilizing an Rx ice machine I rented at huge cost post-surgery. My PT office uses this brand and despite some reviews on the site where people have had packs leak I decided it was worth the cost to give it a shot. I couldn't be happier. The pack has a good weight to it and the rounded edge folds over the top of your shoulder/bicep..the ends provide much needed cold therapy to the areas on the front of the shoulder/arm and armpit which become inflamed after surgery and from PT. The pack has nice weight to it and it sinks right in, conforming to your shoulder all the way down the front and back...something you absolutely do not get with standard hard or soft packs. No issues with leakage as of yet but I am taking good care of them...I'm storing them flat in the freezer as instructed (not folded) inside the freezer door; I don't lean back in a chair or bed while I have it on thereby putting pressure on the seams, and I don't squeeze the pack into shape when it's right out of the freezer. I think some of these negative reviews are from folks just not taking proper care/precautions and are also possibly purchasing counterfeits. All in all this is well worth the short change. Get multiple so that you always have one on hand to use.

I have tried MANY different ice packs over the last 12 years - I have suffered from many injuries and chronic joint pains (knees, hips, shoulders, wrists), and have had 2 back surgeries (fusion). Now you can imagine with so many injuries, surgeries and severe chronic joint pain, that I have probably tried many brands of ice packs - I definitely have! Years ago a physical therapist used this brand of icepack and I was amazed by it! I could never remember the name, and once I finally did, I only found them at very high prices and couldn't commit to spending a ton of money on them. Then I recently decided to check Amazon (don't ask why I hadn't thought of that yet....haha), these were a very fair price, so I bought 2 of them. I had recently purchased the black, clinical grade ones as well. The black ones have a little more flexibility to them and the material is slightly different (clinical grade, polyurethane), but I actually wanted another ice pack for my hip & wanted it to have slightly more firmness to it. These were PERFECT!! The material is smooth, flexible and comfortable (similar to the black, polyurethane ones)! They get cold fast, and even when ice cold, they still are flexible - I love that they have the perfect amount of flexibility to them so they rest comfortably on my hip, but aren't so flexible that they flop over!! I have used them 2-3 times/day since I bought them a few weeks ago (along with the black, polyurethane ones), and they are still in perfect condition and work just as well as day 1. 100% worth the little extra money vs some other brands (Ace, etc.), as they are MUCH better quality and I can tell will last MUCH longer!! Don't even think twice, buy these!! (I will post this review under the other sizes I bought as well!)

I ordered this before my knee replacement. I bought the larger size and was very glad I did. Those refillable bags they send you home with from the hospital are lumpy, too small, they leak, they don't stay in place, and are simply worthless. First: This pack has some kind of gel inside that gets ice cold but remains flexible. Second: it easily conformed to the shape of my knee in any position and stay put - no 'trying' to get the cold where it was needed. Third: It stayed cold with no dripping like you get from conventional ice packs. Fourth: It has lasted and lasted. six months ago I had another major back surgery. This ice pack was a Godsend once again, conforming perfectly to the curvature of my back, regardless of my physical position. No sliding off like I had with other types of ice packs in the past. Fifth: I have severe issues with my feet. This pack wraps my foot with the same fitting I got on my knee and back. Bottom Line: If you need or may be needing an ice pack that delivers, you can not beat this one.

I use this everyday after PT on my ankle. Why didn't I buy this before? This is the largest I could find. It wraps my ankle plus. A little overkill for just my ankle. But I plan to use it for other larger needs. I can't believe I didn't get one of these before. I have used so many zipper type plastic bags and ice. I use it with an old pillow case to protect my body from freeze. Also recommend wiping down the pack with pillow case before putting back in the freezer to keep from icing up the pack and also adding frost to your freezer.

I'm so glad I found these! I played college sports and had a trainer that sent us to the ice whirlpool when we had minor-moderate injuries. So I like my cold therapy VERY cold. I bought 2 of these to ice my foot after PT (recovering from foot surgery) and these babies are COLD! I always feel amazing after using them. Don't take this as gospel, because body/skin types vary, but they don't get so cold that you have to worry about ice burn or frostbite. I mistakenly/stupidly left one on for 40 min once w/ direct skin contact and didn't get ice burn.

Just had hip replacement, only need 2 of these to ice entire top half of my leg. Replaced 4 traditional ice packs which only covered half my leg at once, leaked, and were an extensive amount of labor for the ppl caring for me. They are cheaper than buying ice. They are very high quality. They get very cold very fast despite size (I got 11"x14") about 30mins in an old fridge. They STAY cold for 30-45minutes. Also, they are pretty thick - approx .5" to maybe .75" - which makes them very easy to mold around areas like the top of the hip. My only complaint is never knowing about these! I dont think most ppl even know gel packs this size even EXIST!!! I had no clue until my physical therapist told me about them. Kudos to the seller for getting my expedited delivery to my house within 20 hours. I needed them badly. Buy them, you will be glad you did. If youre just out of surgery like me and some has to help you, they will be very glad too.
