I had the mechanic in there doing the time chain and phaser job so I thought i might as well take care of the oil and water pumps and the thermostat. I only purchase FoMoCo parts and I have yet to have any issues since getting the vehicle back. In fact, she is driving like a mustang now for the first time since i purchased her used 6 years ago. Don't know how much the water pump adds to performance but for the less than $50 price i couldn't resist it and now i am over excited at how well my truck is driving. A lot of the negative reviews for this product or because people do not know how to read. I've been a mechanic and I've been dealing with the parts for over 20 years. This is a genuine Ford Motorcraft water pump you can tell by the Ford mark on the housing and the casting mark on the side of the impeller shaft now it didn't arrive in a Ford Motorcraft box so at first I was a bit hesitant. But with those two marks I knew this was a genuine Ford part also this is not a reman they do not make reman water pumps I have never seen one in my life. These water pumps are for older Ford 4.6 and 5.4 2 valve engines so the pumps have been around for 20 plus years sitting on a shelf so of course they're not going to arrive in pristine brand new condition aesthetically. But mechanically this is the pump for the 4.6 that I have in my Grand Marquis.

Quality water pump

I just replaced the water pump in my 2000 Expedition 4.6 l with this pump and it fit like factory. No problems so far and I really don't expect to have any. This pump seemed to be good quality and it came with the improved plate on the back of the impeller for better flow. Time will tell if it lasts.

Be careful when ordering this one. Ford uses a 30mm thread and a 36mm thread for the fan. Make sure you have the right one for your application.

Perfect fit and perfect performance

This was an exact fit replacement in my 2010 Ford f150 4.6 l V8. Pull the old one off and install this like a pro in 5 minutes. Performing perfectly after several months. Just as quiet as could be. Came with the new o-ring for a perfect seal.
