I saw a lot of bad reviews for this product saying that it leaves black smudges on the knife blade that can't be cleaned off. The case does leave marks but on my knife they are in no way black and rub away easily with a clean towel. This is the second time buying this case and in my opinion they are the best ones especially for the price.

I bought one of these for my 6" Victorinox curved boning knife. It works great to protect the blade and to protect me from cutting myself. It works so well that when I ordered another boning knife, so I had two, I ordered this with it.

This sheath was the perfect fit for the Victorinox 8 inch chef knife. I like that it goes over the knife and snaps shut so it doesn’t fall off when lifting up the knife as some slide in sheaths can do. It seems pretty sturdy and durable; we’ve owned it for about 4 months now with no issues. The only thing I would say is a strong child may be able to open it and get the knife out, so I would keep it where kids couldn’t get to it. Otherwise it’s a perfect investment to keep your knife safe and sharp.

Nothing says you're doing something right like repeat business. I first bought the large 8-10" Bladesafe for my 8" Victorinox Fibrox chef knife, it fit no complaints. I moved that safe over to the 240mm Fujiwara gyuoto I bought last month and that fit it like a glove. The larger Bladesafe had a good amount of room at the end on the Victorinox so I bought a pair of the 6-8" ones and they fit it like they were made for each other. Now I have one ready for the next knife I buy as well.

I really like the BladeSafe and I think it is one of the best products made. My main kitchen knives are a paring knife and a 240mm gyuto. I own multiple of each. Cutting blocks really are not practical, wooden sayas are expensive and are not very practical, knife wraps take up a lot of space and take a while to use, and generic cardboard protectors just don't cut it. Some of my more expensive gyutos are over $500, so it is very important to me that they not bang up against other blades given the damage that can occur. So enter the BladeSafe (which is branded under a few different names, including Victorinox like the product here). It literally locks on to the blade, contains material that pads the blade and stops it from moving around inside the case, and then the knife and the BladeSafe become one until you remove it. Putting the knife in, locking the BladeSafe, and unlocking it are all easy tasks. The hardware is strong: it is made to last years. It's also capable of different cleaning methods as it holds up to most anything. These BladeSafes do NOT come undone on themselves, slip a little, or fail to protect the knife in certain circumstances. More or less, you install this right and your knife is protected. At the same time, you don't have to worry about this damaging the finish on your knife as the design is well-made to ensure it does not harm the cosmetic finish of the blade. For traveling, these things are also great. Built to withstand usage, cleaning, shock, etc., these are built to hold up to the sometimes continuous beating that life can dish out. I have dropped a knife with one of these on and, thanks to the BladeSafe, no damage happened. If it was the knife only, one of two things would have occurred: the tip breaks or I get a free piercing through my foot. Disaster averted for 7 bucks. That's quite a bargain if you ask me!

I've got a bunch of blade sheaths from cardboard to the plastic sheets bent over double. They're fine for storing knives in drawers or shipping but when I put a knife in my work bag it gets a Victorinox blade safe. Sure they're a little bulkier but I NEVER have to worry about sticking my hand in my bag when I know my knifes are sheathed in one of these. Sure the little rubber pads inside will sometimes leave marks on the blades but a bit of soapy water and they're gone, one of the plusses of stainless alloys I'm sure. A cheap price to pay for peace of mind. I bought this for my Opinel paring knife and it fits it like a glove.

I purchased this at the same time as I purchased my 3 1/4" Victorinox pairing knife. At this time I do not have any kind of knife block or other storing device to protect the blade and I don't want it laying on a drawer where the blade can be nicked up or for me to cut myself reaching into the drawer. I really like it. It holds the blade firmly. It snaps closed easily and opens reasonably easily. Those people with arthritis or other hand conditions may have trouble opening it. That is something that should be considered before buying one of these. I plan on having other storage means before I get to that point.

I have been using this guard for several years to store my victoirnox chef knife. After reading the reviews about the plastic parts making a mark on the blade, I tucked a paper towel into the guard and trimmed the excess to protect my blade and this solution has worked wonderfully for me. Interestingly there's no residue on the paper towel itself, but it's a low cost solution so I haven't changed my habits. The latches are secure and have never opened spontaneously, but the mechanism is easy to handle and open. Would recommend this product.

Serves the purpose. Yes, the rubber does leave an indent mark on your blade, but, to me safety, convenience, comfort. . . These things mean more to me than two little marks on my blade. I got into culinary not to just “look” like someone who loves food work, but “be” someone who loves food work and this brand name of this tool makes great cases.

Great product! I cook in a lot of kitchens and this makes it very easy to transport my knife. It stays perfectly secure. I also like that air flow can get in so I can put my knife away wet if I'm in a hurry. Update: Just bought a second one for my new 9in knife. Love these things! If you cater or bring your own knives to work I would highly recommend this product. Best protection for your nice knives without a high cost.
