Best chef knife ever, I’m a certified chef.
I would really love to recommend the Kyocera 4.5 inch ceramic as a main chef knife. It’s worlds better than any folder/and 99.9% of chef knives made of steel, it’s RAZER thin. Like I’ve never seen a thinner blade, it looks like a razor with a handle. It’s AMAZING! It won’t shave hair as good as a waypoint or a spydiechef, but it SLICES through anything like a lightsaber. I’ve been using the same generic Faberware ceramic knife I got from Walmart for the past eight years as the only chef knife, I upgraded last week and it’s just mind blowing how much better the Kyocera is in 2020. It’s superior in every aspect. This blade perfectly embodies the Japanese culture of attention to detail and perfection.

Great ceramic knife
Bought this mostly to try a ceramic knife. As they have rounded tips, I wasn't really interested in the paring knife so I went for the utility type knife. I was surprised at how sharp it was and how well it performed. I have used it mainly thus far to cut small vegetables and fruit and it works great. I can't speak as to its durability and whether or not it will stain as I washed it immediately after using it and it still looks new. It works well for my use and I would purchase one again again.

Stayed sharp for 8 years
I bought this knife for my mom for Christmas in 2010. She almost cut her finger off, deemed it too dangerous, and gave it back to me. Since then I have used this little miracle every single day. I'm a vegetarian so thats a whole lot of veggie chopping. We later got a fancy metal knife set... but after a week I dug this one back out of my drawer and went back to using it. Its not even broken yet, it just finally got dull enough to need sharpening, and a brand new knife is cheaper than the sharpening block.

Kyocera has the best Knives
I had to get this to replace a similar knife that chipped because I attempted to cut something frozen. These knives work great because they cut so easily but because its made of glass they have to be treated delicately too. This size is perfect for cutting almost anything because its not too small nor too big. Also these are great because fruits and vegetables oxidized slower than if cut with a steel knife (when apples turn yellow after being cut)

Like a Light Saber Cutting Off An Arm
These knives are incredibly sharp and will stay that way if you use them correctly! This is my 7th Kyocera knife. Aside from my own personal set of Kyocera knives, I buy them as gifts for my kitchen staff. (in a professional kitchen) They are most useful for julienne lettuce. The ceramic blade will not cause the lettuce to turn brown !!! These knives are also very light and will lessen the usual fatigue on the hands of those who cut, chop and dice for hours at a time. Do not use these knives (or any ceramic blades) on hard items such as carrots or sweet potatoes. Changes are good you may chip or break the blade. Also, try not to drop the knife, it will break if it hits a hard surface with enough force. Don't use these for cutting product with bones, don't use them to butcher down a whole chicken. The blade doesn't bend like a boning knife and the ceramic blade will chip or nick if it hits bone. In our kitchen, we like these little ones for small tasks such as slicing whole olives, slicing mushrooms and slicing strawberries. We use the larger chef knife version for making julienne strips out of whole lettuce heads and slicing tomatoes super thin. Kyocera will always be the only brand ceramic knife used in our kitchen.

My New Produce Knife
I have a set of Kyocera knives in my kitchen that I have been using since 2005. I love them so much I've purchased several as gifts. They stay sharp, slice cleanly and can cut wafer thin. I work in the produce department of a grocery store and made this purchase to bring in to the store because I believe so strongly that it will reduce shrink by making cuts that won't brown, so produce will look fresher longer without re-trimming, thereby reducing loss of leaves, etc. Everyone that has tried it loves it. The feather weight takes some people a bit to get used to, but the cuts win them over. One co-worker has already purchased one for himself to use at work, too.

Great knife
Like nothing else. Razor blade sharp over and over. I cut the a sliver of finger off and didn't even know it. I did throw the food away. Just don't attempt to pry or laterally force anything with this, the blade will snap. No joke, if you never used one of these you won't believe how it cuts.

Sharp, and stays that way
there is just nothing on the market better than this brand of ceramic kitchen knife. they stay sharp and cut like butter through everything, including something hard like an acorn squash. unreal! since it's ceramic and not steel, I suggest not cutting on anything metal, or hard like a ceramic/corning cutting board. Use wood, or like I do, a paper plate. and keep your fingers out of the way. these knives are surgical knife/blade sharp! I have all the sizes and use at least one every single day. my oldest Kyocera ceramic knife is nearly 5 years old and still surgical sharp. I never liked having to sharpen some expensive steel knives. I felt if I had to sharpen something, the steel wasn't as hard as it should be. Yes, there is a ceramic knife sharpener made by Kyocera, but I've never had to use it.

INCREDIBLE CHOPPER!
Wow. What an incredible slicing knife! Ceramic is amazing and if you havent tried I DEFINITELY recommend this little guy! It is sleek and sharp in design, and will cut through vegetables, meats (without bone), fruits, etc. like butter. An amazing steal at a this price, and well worth much more -- I set the knife down on a tomato and guide the knife through. Its so easy and the knife basically falls through the tomato with no pressure at all! Super sharp and amazing. Storage is an issue, though, becuase you must store these knives properly so they will not get destroyed or chippped. I recommend investing in a sheath or buying the same brand of knife that comes with one already. I am cheap and havent gotten around to buyingone, so I just keep ours in the plastic case that it came with. Good stuff. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to family, friends, whoever. Definitely my favorite knife!

Take care of it it will take care of you!
This is my go to knife. I prep a lot of vegetables for my single meals as I cook for myself. This knife handles all of my vegetable prep work like a breaze. You must take care of these knives in order to get great continued sharpness from them. Never let them hits the sink and always place them in a sheath or cover of some type. When I refer to them i have had three kyocera ceramic knives.
