Kids love it

Presumably you are familiar with Melissa and Doug products. While I am not a fan of all of their products, this series of puzzles is very nice, and a 24 piece puzzle is perfect gift for a 3-5 year old. This puzzle is easy relative to some of the other ones in the series, as there is no dead space in the puzzle, so even a novice puzzler can progress quickly. One nice addition would be for M&D to include a bag for storing the pieces. Inevitably, if the pieces are not immediately stored in their own, separate, zip-loc bag after use, the pieces end up everywhere. If M&D could devise a way to include a unique mesh bag with each puzzle, it would improve the product considerably.

I love this puzzle for my students! It is not as large as some puzzles, so it is not intimidating to students who are a little concerned with lots of pieces in a puzzle. It is sturdy wood puzzle.

Awesome transition puzzle

I got this puzzle for my almost 2 year old. He LOVES puzzles but had moved past the 9 piece board puzzles. I was looking for something that would help him transition from 9 piece board puzzles to the 25 piece free form puzzles. The puzzle pieces are wood and there is a wood tray/border the puzzle fits into. When we first got the puzzle I pulled out sections at a time, increasing the size of the section each time. By the end of a couple of days, he was doing the puzzle without assistance. The animals are lovely and identifiable. The number of different colored animals makes this puzzle easier than the Melissa and Doug 24 piece dinosaur puzzle (which we also have but he struggles with). The pieces have become much easier to pull apart and fit together as the puzzle gets loved. The pieces have stood up to tons of use, stepping on them, throwing them, biting them, peeing on them (twice...oh the joys of potty training boys). I love that I can scatter the pieces and get some time to myself to cook dinner or have an adult conversation. Once he conquers the dinosaur puzzle I think we'll try out free form puzzles.

My 2 year old LOVES this puzzle!

My 2 year old (now 3 year old) loves this puzzle he loves all the 24 M&D puzzles. They are perfect for his age because they are sturdy and he hasn’t broken any. He can do the puzzle over and over. It keeps his overly active mind busy. Can’t beat the price either. I love watching his little mind think as he puts the pictures together! We will be moving to 48 pieces soon to give him a challenge. At 3 he has them memorized and knows exactly where each piece goes. He finishes then quickly, but he still enjoys it enough to do it5 times in a row!

2yro LOVES this - durable

My 2yro has had this puzzle for about 3mo now. She can now do this unaided and does this puzzle about 6-7x/day. No kidding. She is able to carry it around the house with the puzzle pieces staying in place on the board. While the edges of each piece do show slight use, I'm fine with this given the amount of use it gets. We have several other of these on-the-board puzzles from M&D but this is her favorite. I'd strongly recommend any of them. The board fits into our square cubby shelves and they stack nicely.

Another great Melissa and Doug find!

Perfect for my preschooler. 24 large puzzle pieces that are smoothed out and easily interlocked together. I've helped my little one do this puzzle but its still simple enough she can figure it out on her own. I like that it helps with dexterity and problem solving. We have three Melissa and Doug puzzles and will continue to buy more. I also like the other toys they make because it encourages imaginitive play and I don't have to worry about hazardous chemicals like with other brands. My picture doesn't do it justice as the colors on the puzzle I received are nice and vibrant.

Durable, reasonable price.

I bought another similar puzzle along with this one as a gift for my 5-year-old grandson. Larger puzzles get frustrating for him but the chunky ones are way too easy. These puzzles are the perfect in-between. These are durable and at a great price.

Perfect for our 3 year old

A friend had gifted one of these for our daughter's birthday. She LOVES puzzles, so we decided to get another one. Easy to put together, colours are vibrant, and overall very happy with it.

great puzzle

I love the Melissa & Doug wooden puzzles. I have bought 8 12 piece wooden puzzles so far for the 3-year olds in our family. This one will have to wait for a little while because it is too hard for them right now. They should be able to do a 24 piece by the summer.

I love the quality of the melissa and doug puzzles. They have beautiful colors and are extremely durable. I'm a preprimary teacher and we need durable puzzles. Also, item was packed well and arrived super fast.
