Top quality educational puzzle!

This is a really durable, quality puzzle board which is well done and will survive several hand downs! However it is a heavy item for a toddler to lift for example and the large size makes mailing as a gift a challenge. All in all though a really great item!

This is the second one of these I've purchased. Our first one was chewed on by our dog (whoops) so when our youngest started showing an obsession with numbers I immediately purchased another one. He loves it. The chunky number pieces can be used in the puzzle, stood up on a table in a row or used in counting activities. We also purchased the alphabet version!

The "Melissa & Doug Jumbo Numbers Wooden Chucky Puzzle" was puchased as a gift for educational purpose. I had picked up several of "Melissa & Doug's" puzzles at a local department store. I was so impressed with the quality I decided to look on Amazon for additional products made by "Melissa & Doug". I was not disappointed to discover the numbers puzzle and purchased to add to our grandchildrens newly started "Melissa & Doug" puzzle collection. The kid loves it...

...because it is bright and colorful, very tolerable to chewing and sucking, and well, for whatever reasons that are unbeknownst to me he loves it for them too. Melissa & Doug toys are some of the best toys for young children out there. It is also a great toy because it is introducing numbers at the earliest ages possible. That as well as problem solving. It's all about numbers and mathematics. Do yourself a favor and help your child as many ways as possible to learn math and sciences. Thanks M&D for this great toy.

This is perfect. It is so easy to teach my children to count from 1-20. This is good for children with disability.

GREAT FOR LEARNING NUMBERS BY SIGHT!

My ALMOST 2-year old son already knows his numbers 1-10 by sight and sound, but now this is teaching him 11-20! He can already count to 20 out loud, but recognizing the numbers by sight is a bit more difficult and this puzzle is really helping with that! I love how there are fun objects/animals to count for each number as well! Well done, Melissa & Doug!

Seems Great So Far!

So I bought two of these puzzles for my niece and nephew's second birthdays. I've given it to my nephew already and he loves it! He already had a very similar ABC puzzle (not the same brand) and he was saying the alphabet constantly and loved the puzzle. When we gave him this number puzzle and started counting with him, he was hooked within a week. We heard him saying the 123s all the time. It seems very durable-being solid wood and all. The colors and patterns are very very cute, but that's my personal preference. One thing is that the numbers go up to 20. I think for a two year old that might be too much and it's probably better to start off with a 1-10 puzzle. But I don't foresee that as a big issue. If his parents focus on teaching him 1-10 then later moving on to the other digits then it should work just fine. Overall, I loved the puzzle, my sister-in-law loved it, and my two year old nephew seemed to really enjoy it!
