These classic Carhartt carpenter's pants are still a top grade product. However, I don't like the sizing and fit quite as much as I do with the same product from Dickies. The Carhartt's 'Original Fit' is a quite a bit baggier than the Dickies 'Relaxed Fit.' At 5' 10" 185 pounds, the 34 X 30s were slightly snug in the waist but baggier and slightly longer than expected. Where as the Dickies 34X 30s fit damn near perfect. There is noticeably more material throughout the leg and and about 3/4 inch more in length. I grew up in the 90's and I understand a baggy jean as much as the next guy, but now that I'm in the shadier half of my 30's I'm looking for a slightly thinner look. The materials on these jeans are more heavy weight and superior to those on the Dickies but their materials and fit 'n finish are pretty solid as well. This is still a solid, durable pair of pants worthy of just about any jobsite. And I'm gladly keeping this pair, but in comparison with the Dickies, I prefer their fit and their lower price point makes up for the drop in materials quality.

Everyone's fitment is different, so I can't comment much on that. The pants themselves are made very well, and appear to be very tough. When clean and new they are completely suitable for our business-casual work environment. As a mature grown-up, I appreciate that the pants are not acid stonewashed distressed faded and ripped. They are new. They are stiff. I can't wait for them to "mold" to my frame. Not only *would* I buy these again- I already have.

Carhartt produces quality wearable items. They are made to survive the wilds of outdoor/indoor rugged work and play! as long as your size does not change, you will have a Carhartt item for many years. And for that reason is why I have not purchased one of their items in many years. And with this said, it was the reason why the size I went with for these pants, were way too long. I went with my normal inseam, and found, when I tried them on, that the length was past the end of my foot to my toes. I have a size 13 foot! With these pants, you may want to consider going with a size smaller in length for these pants. However, if you start with your normal size, as I did, they are easy enough to return. Amazon provided free shipping back. So save the box when you receive the pants. So for quality of the pants, and ease of return, as well as fast shipping, I gave it 5 stars.

Normally I wear the double knee carhartt pants, thought I'd just buy myself another pair. I bought these on accident and I'm very happy I did. For the times when I don't need knee pads, these are way more comfortable, they feel a little bit thinner but no lesser in quality, they breathe well, plenty of room to move around, and still very durable. I recommend ordering 1 inch bigger for waist size, much more comfortable, I have a 32 inch waist and have big legs so I went with the 33 inch pants, very happy. Killer deal, will definitely buy again.

Pros: Quality, tough material, sewn perfectly and solid. Made to hold up. LOVE THEM. The colors are vivid. Cons: Baggier in the legs than what my husband was used too, but he got used to it. And because they are work pants, they are a little too thick to wear casually in the summer and Make my husband hot quickly.

I've been working as a seasonal laborer doing grounds-keeping and maintenance work since 2014, with the vast array of other jobs I hold/have held largely being heavy/manual labor. Needless to say I've had many a pair of work pants in that time. The only article to have held the test of time in the last half-decade was a pair of womens Carhartt overalls. Finally this summer I wanted something sans-bib, and picked up a pair of these. Because I honestly just don't trust women's work pants (despite the success of those overalls). The color is great, the fit is perfect and straightforward to size, the array of pockets are exactly what I need. And sturdy?! Couldn't be sturdier. Whatever I put them through: they hold up. I couldn't be happier, and am even considering a second pair for wearing even outside of work.

These carhartts are replacing jeans as my main work pants. The quality of blue jeans has plummeted. It’s gotten to the point you cannot find jeans that are actually made of denim! Do an experiment; go to Salvation Army and get some wornout piece of denim 10-20y/o. Compare it to ANYTHING denim in a store today. The difference is like cowhide to TP. Not to mention the idiotic low waste so many jeans have. Anyone who designs men’s pants with 4” flys does not have functionality in mind! These carhartts have made a convert out of me. They aren’t jeans, but they remind me of what jeans ACTUALLY are. They’re heavy, durable, stiff material. My first pair has already lasted three times as long as my last pair of jeans. Now I have two more pairs and I couldn’t be happier. They’re well worth the price tag!

These are my favorite work pants. Heavy duty, much thicker duck than Dickies and better seams and cut. Pockets are all sensible and functional. Carhartt is good enough to have some of the in-between sizes like the 33 that I wear. They hold up very well and resist most damage. Welding spatter can burn a hole, but the FR versions are another $50- cheaper to use these and buy another pair when the holes get too severe. About the only thing that I wish was different would be a gusseted crotch for harness work. In a harness these tend to bunch up uncomfortably. For everything else, these are extremely durable, well priced pants that wear well in freezing weather or the heat of Texas summer.

These last forever. I wore these 4-5 days a week for 7 months (I work with my hands) and they still held it together. They faded in the sun and the cuffs had worn out by then, but the crotch held strong, the legs held fast, and the butt...it was wearing thin, but hadn't given up yet. I get the legs tailored a little bit because I have short legs, but I have to do that with all of the pants I buy. They fit me perfectly in the waist and crotch and they're incredibly comfortable. Also, the pockets don't bulge when you keep things in them. They're the perfect work pants and they last forever. For the price, they're an absolute heist.

If you are looking for work pants, these are the ones, the right side has thigh pockets perfect for cellphones. The pants wear better at knees than any other pair of work pants I have purchased. I moved away from denim because, well denim just does not hold up as well as these washed duck pants. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.
