Lots of fun if you know what to expect
This was my first boomerang purchase, so I don't have any real point of reference, but so far I've had a great time with this thing. One thing you need to know before you purchase this, is that boomerangs take a lot of practice to get them to come back to you. If you're looking for something that you can try for the first time and have it return instantly, then you should try a tetherball. It took me a few solid hours before I could get this thing to turn correctly, and even then it was coming back to me about half of the time. I can easily see a small kid getting pretty frustrated with it, but if you take some time, watch a few YouTube videos, you'll be pretty happy. Another unexpected benefit, is that you do get some exercise using this thing. Of course, your arm gets exercise from the act of throwing. But also, a lot of the time you will have to run under the boomerang to catch it. Or, just run and fetch it, if you throw it wrong and it doesn't come back to you. I used this thing for thirty minutes and I was pooped from all the running. If you're not into running that much, then train a dog to fetch it. That will save you a lot of time.

Christmas present and the almost 8 year old loves it. We first took it to a football field to see how it works and this boomerang is the real deal and is sturdy. Hope to get a few years out of it. Husband loved it as much as the kid.

Great gift for teenage boy
Very cool! It flies very far. My kid still isn't able to catch it but he's having tons of fun attempting.

FUN FUN FUN
Took some practice, but it's fun when you can get it to return to you. The vendor including tips on throws instructions as well as link to a video for extra help. The 'rang was is very light, but can take a beating. I do recommend throwing on a grass field for safe "unexpected" landings. And trees and power lines are not its best friend. Also...You WILL run alot!!!

Good boomerang
Sturdy- has survived many tree and ground hits. Does require a lot of practice to master, but it feels well in the hand and is enjoyable to throw

My grandson loved it!
My 8 year old grandson is fascinated with old style hunting devices. He's mastered his crossbow and saw a boomerang being used to hunt birds in a book. I looked far and wide for a starter boomerang that was the old style. Finally after days of searching, I located this one on an Amazon store and ordered it. It is sturdy, wooden, and exactly what he wanted for Christmas. PROBLEM! I paid for "overnight shipping" but did not receive it until 3 days AFTER Christmas. So, I printed out a picture of the boomerang as shown on the website and wrapped the picture in a box. This way he got to open his gift, but still had to wait for it. Luckily my grandson is a smart understanding little boy and he LOVES his boomerang!

Good all around boomerang
I own several right and left handed boomerangs, but I'm still a newbie to throwing. In comparison to my other 'rangs, the Glacier is the most well rounded. I own both right and left handed Glacier models, and both are very stable, fly well, are fairly easy to throw, and fairly forgiving on throwing technique. I own a right handed Aspen model, which is a bit easier to throw than the Glacier and returns very easily, but the Glacier is more stable in wind. Either of these models are excellent for beginner to advanced. If you need an even easier 'rang to throw, check out the Bumblebee.

Great beginner's boomerang
If you've never thrown a real boomerang before, or just the Aerobee or Nerf types, then this is a great beginner's boomerang for you. I've thrown other real 'rangs before, and I like the size and weight of this one, especially for a beginner. It doesn't take much power to throw, so a child 10 and up should be able to throw it with practice. Pick a low wind day, use eye protection, a large grassy area, and plan to practice for about an hour or two to get the hang of it. Real returning 'rangs will come back, and you are the target! The seller includes a helpful instruction manual, and links to helpful online videos for the novice 'ranger. Good choice!

Classic toy
Classic toy. You need a large space to play with us, we have an acre out back and even that seems small if you want to thing to really come back to you. Great gift for the kids. Quality seems great.

It works!
It's a little smaller than I imagined it would be, but maybe my imagination runs a little wild (too much Bugs Bunny). I was skeptical about if it would work, but wow. Don't throw it in heavy wind, you need no wind to a light breeze. It takes practice to get your direction and throwing angle correct but when you do, it's amazing to watch it fly. It's a great tool for teaching your kids the beginnings of aerodynamics, my son is fascinated with it and how it works. I have to get another one, a different shape, to how they fly as well.
