This is an awesome, educational puzzle

I had to review this puzzle because I was shocked that it only has 3 stars. I bought this puzzle for my then 1 and a half year old daughter for Christmas 2011. She absolutely loves it and still loves it now. It has helped reinforce her numbers. She can count all the way up to 20! Of course, you still have to work with your child on learning their numbers but this defintely is another way for them to be exposed to them. I have had no problems with the numbers. All the numbers sound correctly when she plays with them. I love that the double digit numbers are stuck together so that children can get the visual that they are one number. All in all, a great Melissa & Doug product. Note to people who have had a defective puzzle: Melissa & Doug's customer service is generally excellent. I'm sure if you called them and reported the problem you're having they would replace the puzzle free of charge. I have had small issues with previous Melissa & Doug products & they shipped me replacement parts within the week.

Bought for a four year old who loved it

Made well. With stood my kids who are hard on toys. My youngest loves puzzles. He loves letters and numbers. He did get bored with it after a while. We put it up and take it out every now and then and it is like a new puzzle. He will play with it for a while before getting bored with it.

Great for learning

Really nice product. Great learning tool. My 2 year old granddaughter can now place all of the letters and numbers in these puzzles.

Great learn aids and toys....they don't even know they are learning!

Love the Mellissa & Doug products for preschoolers. My grandson has the ABC one too and knows all of the letters at 2-1/2 years of age. Working with this one now....knows numbers 0-10....never heard a 2 year old say zero.....love it! Will be buying more Melissa and Doug toys.

Excellent learning tool!

This toy is a great way to introduce and learn numbers. Sometimes change of light makes it sound when we're not really playing with it. Also, some numbers don't make sound probably due to low light when we are playing with it but I still give it 5 starts because thanks to this fun toy, my toddler is really learning how to recognize and sound out numbers!

A must have

A must have if you like teaching your young ones about numbers. My <2 year old daughter could count to twenty and specifically identify every number on this puzzle by name within two weeks of playing with this. She really enjoyed it and was really proud of herself when she could do the whole thing by herself and tell me every number as she completed the puzzle. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. I am looking forward to breaking this back out when her little brother is ready. It has held up great and is ready and waiting for him.

Great for fine motor and number recognition

Great for fine motor and number recognition. Great learning tool for my 6 and 9 year old. Both boys are special needs and benefit from hands on learning.

Great puzzle

This is a great puzzle to have, along with the ABC one. The pieces are easy to get in and out and the talking feature is great because it helps my daughter identify each number and learn vocab. It entertains her for a good chunk of time. The voice can become annoying but that is true for every talking toy.
