I love this puzzle!! We bought this for my 18 month old for Christmas and have been so happy with it. We needed a puzzle with large knobs that he could grip easily and these are perfect. In only a month he has mastered putting the puzzle together and taking it apart! We had heard that sometimes the pieces were a little difficult to put in because they're all hand made like all of the Melissa and Doug products are, but have not experienced this for ourselves. The colors are vivid and the pieces are large and easy to use.

My 11 month old has been playing with this for a couple of months now. The handles are very durable and east to pick up. She uses them to make music. The wood/stickers are coming off when she gets them wet. So that could be a little better. Other than that I recommend.

I got this as one of the gifts for my niece's first birthday. She loves it. It's simple and the knobs are great for little hands. Great quality.

Solid, well-built puzzle. I really appreciate the quality of the wood and the quality of the design. You can tell it's well made. My 17 month old loves this puzzle. She particularly likes throwing the puzzle pieces on the ground, but thanks to how well made the puzzle is, I don't have to worry about the pieces breaking or bending. I predict that this puzzle will still be in excellent shape when we hand it down to baby number two.

is built to last many years. I purchased this puzzle for my one year old, just about six years ago. Yes, this review is way overdue. My son loved this puzzle. It is very sturdy and build to last many years. Fast forward six years later, and it is still in excellent condition. He is obviously older now, but it was handed down to my youngest son, who also had many great moments playing with this puzzle. I really liked the thick, sturdy puzzle knobs, great for small hands. My youngest is now a three, but he too, had a great time playing with this puzzle. As a parent, I noticed that the sturdy puzzle knobs made it easy for them to place the puzzle piece on the board. After all these years, the puzzle has not aged, the color is just as vibrant from the first day we purchased it. Six years later, and two children later, we gave it to our friend with a one year old son. I can honestly say, this sturdy Melissa and Doug puzzle will probably last for many years.

Quick arrival! Bought this as an xmas present for my 19 mo son... he loves it. Plays with it all the time. Easy for him to pull in/out of the toy chest. Knobs are the perfect hand size.

My son is special needs and his therapist wanted him to have a toy with knobs to practice finer motor skills. He absolutely adores these, and sometimes will "drive" them along the carpet like cars. They're super sturdy, and the designs aren't just glued paper, we've had this for a long time (more than a few months) and they still look new.

Melissa & Doug brand toys never disappoint and I find them at the best prices on Amazon. My nephew just turned one and is already loving this puzzle! I highly recommend it and I gave it to him as part of a "Under the Sea" themed birthday gift along with a starfish teething blanket (also purchased on Amazon) and a sailboat onesie.

Along with another Melissa and Doug puzzle, this gi0000ft to my 1 yr old granddaughter was a big hit with her to the exclusion of several others she received at the party. She opened this early and kept ignoring the other gifts she got and - no surprise to me - kept returning to her M & D puzzles.

I like that these puzzles are a good first puzzles for a toddler. It's sturdy, simple, and the knobs make it easy to hold. Our 9 month old doesn't understand the idea of fitting the pieces back into the base yet, but nevertheless, she enjoys holding the 3 large knob pieces, sliding them around, and clanking them together. The only slight downside is that she also likes to chew on them, and it causes noticeable wear and tear around the edges, plus I don't want her to ingest anything from the puzzle. To preserve the puzzle, I take it away for short spells, especially if she's teething and more apt to chew on it.
