Great For Learning to Walk!
I bought this as a gift for a 1-year old who was learning to walk on wobbly, baby legs. He LOVED this push toy! He used it to hold onto to pull himself up then leaned on it while he pushed it to walk. The quality is good and it seemed pretty sturdy! Beware that it's loud! Those gators clack and chomp as you push the toy. The 1-year old I gave it to seemed to like the noise, as all little kids do. Also, beware that this thing can MOVE! For a little guy learning to walk, put them on low-pile carpet. It'll still roll but will slow them down. The little guy I gave this to used it on hard surfaces and it cruised really fast and his wobbly legs had a hard time keeping up at first. I would certainly buy this again!

Thoughtfully designed
Two most imperative features of a walker are: (1) Stability and, (2) constrained motion wheels. If a walker is not stable, the baby will tip over with the walker. That hurts. If the wheels are too free, a baby will push forward and fall on their face. Constrained motion wheels prevents the sudden forward push. This walker passes on both fronts. With a very low center of gravity, my baby didn't fall off even once in the three days that we tried it. The wheels have a rubber casing at the axle to provide just the right amount of resistance to prevent the walker from surging forward- this is an extremely useful feature for a baby who is just learning to walk. Thoughtfully designed product. Unfortunately, I had to return this product within 3 days because our lil girl, who is in the top 25% quartile for height, was bending over while walking, and that is not good for her posture. I felt sad returning this since I knew I would not find another walker that was so thoughtfully designed. I did get something that's taller for her, but i have to place a 10-pound dumb-bell on that walker to mimic the constrained motion and prevent my baby from falling forward. But, I miss this walker from Melissa & Doug. If your baby isn't in the top quartile for baby height, this is the walker you should get, and nothing else.

baby loves it!
Love this little walker and my baby loves it too. Bought it when he was 8 months old and it still continues to interest him. The wheels will fly on smooth tile unless baby is coordinated enough not to put all the weight on it sending it zooming so at first we had it on thin carpet which provided a nice slow pace for him then moved it to the tile. We have taken this to farmers' markets where he zooms all over the asphalt parking lot. It does horrible in gravel. Very well made, colorful, and cute. We receive lots of compliments every time we use it. The crocs are not annoying at all for adults. Highly recommend

Beautiful, strong and fun push walker
We (but mostly our baby) loves this little walker! It's very high quality, feels sturdy to the touch/push and works quite perfectly. Our daughter was even enthralled by the twisty blocks half way of the handle. Early on she would sit and spin those for longer than she would stand and push the whole cart. Our daughter has been using this to walk around for almost four months now, well before she was walking on her own. So this provided her a practical and fun way to get up and start using her feet, learning to balance and practice walking. It's been fun to watch her slowly get more confident and begin to walk correctly (not on toes, feet pointed straight, etc). One note, that actually turned out to be more than fine, is that the gators on the front don't actually make noise even though the name is chomp and clack. There isn't really much of a clack to be heard. You really only hear the wheels turning. This wasn't a bad thing (and for our sanity probably was a good thing), but I kind of thought the gators would make noise as the cart was pushed. They do make the chomp motion up and down though. Another thing to be aware of is the height of the handle is not flexible. Our daughter is a bit short and smaller than normal for her size so she's had no problem fitting the height of the handle. But thinking if someone had a taller baby maybe it wouldn't fit so naturally? Not really a big deal as I woud think once kids are too tall, they're also too tall to be needing a walker. But something to know. Overall it's been a great purchase that we're very happy we made.

Especially good for those JUST starting to cruise
Among my mom's group I'd say this walker and the Vtech sit to stand walker are the most popular. I decided to buy this one for my daughter's first Bday. She was just starting to cruise at this time. I decided on this over the Vtech because it felt much more sturdy and my daughter could push this along slowly without it slipping out from under her. The vtech is much lighter so when she'd stand behind it, it would move so fast that she would slip and tumble. Well it turns out my brother bought her the vtech for her Bday. I am glad that I kept both because she loves them both, still uses them both a lot and they are better suited for different situations. I'll focus on the Alligator push toy now It is GREAT for smooth floors, hardwood, tile and sidewalk because it is SO sturdy. It's perfect for a child who is just beginning to cruise and is still not very stable. Because it's on the heavier side, hey could lean on it without it speeding away, which would cause them to fall. Not the best for thick carpet. Now that my daughter can walk well she can push it around in rooms where we have a thicker carpet, but most people buy these when a child is just starting to walk and if you have mostly carpet in your house it probably won't be very easy for your child to push it around. My husband was concerned that my daughter would pinch her fingers in the mouth of the alligator, she never has but her little friend did. She was holding on to the alligators mouth and then leaned on it. I didn't think it was too big of a deal, it hurt i guess but she was fine. It wouldn't stop me from buying it. The only thing I'm bummed about was that all the other M&D alligator push toys I've seen are very vibrant in color, the blue part of mine looks like they only did one coat of paint and left it.

Must-Have for Wood Floors
This is a great product. It's easy to assemble and solid. At first I worried that the upright (rather than slightly angled) position of the handle might be a problem. It's not at all. We purchased this because it's made of wood and has the rubber gaskets around the tires - we have wood floors and the plastic models just slide around and scratch the floors. This is PERFECT if you have wood floors. The rubber gaskets grip so the tires turn just fine. It's very cute as well. Some have complained that the alligators don't "clack" - this is true. They go up and down, but the felt between their mouths prevents them from having a loud clacking sound; I personally see this as a benefit after lots of other noisy toys in our house! Overall, so glad we bought this and our daughter loves it.

Love it. Baby was 8 months when I first ...
Love it. Baby was 8 months when I first bought it. He was just starting to stand and trying to walk. He liked the car but didn't really push it. It will move when they try to use it to stand up. We never let him use it unsupervised. I had to hold the front because it would not hold him. Now that he has more balance, he'll push it. I wouldn't recommend it for babies who are just starting to stand and walk without close supervision. It moves too fast for beginners on wood and tile floor. We used it on carpet and grass first.

Works well for multiple stages
My little one started using this around 6 months old so we added some extra "wings" for stability. Otherwise it would tip when she pulled herself up. Now she is 11 months and confidently walking without any assistance but still has fun pushing the cart and stacking stuffed animals on the front for a ride. The wings had to be removed too. In the picture she's 9 months old and very short for her age. This cart moves well on all floors in our house. The rubber on the wheels prevents major slipping on hardwood floors and it still moves well on thick and thin carpet.

Was hesitant at first but this is a MUST HAVE for babies on the verge of walking.
My son was on the verge of walking. This let him get the practice in to build strength and build confidence. I was skeptical in making this purchase because I knew that this would only be used as a transition tool, therefore we wouldn't need it very long and $40 is a lot for such a limited use object. Totally worth it though. My son loved it and every day he used it he grew more and more confident about walking. We only needed the walker for 3 weeks and then he was walking steadily on his own. He loved this thing. My son gained a lot of confidence with it and he enjoyed being independent. I cant recommend this product enough if your child needs a little more encouragement to transition to walking.
