Love it! Others have said there isn't enough structure to this. Yes it does squish down. I guess depending on how much you weigh and what you're looking for. I was looking for support, but not hard/stiff support. I weigh about 135 pounds and am 5'1". For me, the fact that it squishes down a bit is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want hard ungiving support and this is it! I got the standard firmness and it's just perfect. I love how I can position it anywhere on my chair I want to support my back. I have a problem with my mid thoracic area and this works perfectly, so much so, I just bought another one! I highly recommend this product!

Pricey, but a quality product in the right dimensions for a car or any ordinary chair where you want back support. I purchased a similar product a while ago that is thicker and significantly longer. It turned out to be unusable, because it was too long to fit any of several chairs where I wanted to use it, and too bulky as well. When you buy one of these lumbar supports, think of your back, of course, but think of where you will use it.

It's only day 1, but I am already noticing a REAL difference after using this at work. I have been having low back problems and my doctor recommended getting a McKenzie Lumbar Roll to use at work to help with my posture and to help relieve some of the back pain. The result was INSTANTANEOUS for me! I was not expecting it, honestly. I am going to give it a few more days, but I am already considering purchasing another one for my car/home so I don't have to drag one around all the time. Highly recommend if you are experiencing low to mid back pain when sitting!

The size and ‘not too firm’ is great for me. (Also for my husband. I’m going to have to get him his own) I have chronic migraine and swear by my Botox but I started getting a streak of break through migraines. I also realized I was having serious posture issues that were a large source of the migraines. In physical therapy to correct my posture they were having me use this roll. It was a major help along with exercise. I asked where I could get one and they sent me to Amazon. I couldn’t be happier. If you are a large person you may want to consider ‘Firm’ so that it doesn’t compress too much. I’m 135# and my husband is 169#. Standard is perfect for us.

The OPTP lumbar cushion is great for helping with my sciatic pain from a messed up lumbar disc. It works great for me at home, especially on the couch, so I can get back to what probably caused me the pain in the first place ;) Seriously though its also nice not to have to finish my meals standing up anymore. Its nicely portable with attached strap so it will travel with me when I fly. The shape of the cushion did not work in my tiny car, but I blame the car not the cushion for that! Not enough space to position it comfortably. On chairs, sofas and car seats with more space to maneuver it works wonderfully & I'm happy with my purchase!

This product has been a lifesaver for me. In July 2014, I was diagnosed with a herniated disc in my back (L5/S1). For several months, sitting was agonizingly painful. This product was recommended by my spine specialist and it has done wonders for my back. I went from being able to sit for maybe ten minutes at a time to a half hour, then an hour, and now, four months later, I can sit through an entire film pain-free. I have also used this in the car and it has made traveling so much more comfortable for me. I love that it has a strap so I can secure it to my car seat and not have to worry about repositioning it each time I get in or out of the car. I will say that the first time I tried the lumbar pillow, it did increase my pain briefly. My spine specialist advised me to use it for short periods of time at first until my back became accustomed to being in the proper position. Strengthening my core muscles also helped with this.

I used one of these in physical therapy. It helped right off with my lower back stiffness and pain. I have it in my recliner now and it is very comfortable. I just bought another for my car. I'm going to bring it with me on vacation for the plane too. I highly recommend to anyone that has back pain. It's working for me, I hope it works for you.

I have used this every day for months! I have 2 other Mckenzie Original D-Section lumbar rolls - one I've had for years - and still going strong. I use one in the car and carry one with me to use when I am out at events, restaurants, etc. They have helped me so much that I rarely go anywhere without one. I usually use the full lumbar roll for work and the D-Section rolls for the car, when I go out, or when sitting at home. The full just fits my office chair better - but the D-section rolls seem firmer. Great products and long lasting! So thankful for these rolls!

The industry standard for lumbar support rolls, the McKenzie is an essential piece of my lower back rehabilitation. My physical therapist insists on having one of these in the car, at work, and wherever else I sit. This original roll is not overly firm, but definitely provides the right amount of support to keep the hollow of your back from resting flat on the chair. This ergonomic posture allows the vertebrae to properly align, which will allow them to heal. Slouching places added stress on to our spine by taking it out of its intended shape, so the roll works to maintain that correct posture and reduce the load on the spine.

I got this roll originally in the 1980s from a physical therapist. I used it on and off for years until several years ago when I began using it three days a week to make the dialysis chair less uncomfortable. It finally got too soft so I replaced it a few weeks ago. It is a great lumbar support. It is lightweight but firm enough to support your lower back. I don't use the strap (except to carry it) but I think it would be useful in some situations.
