Nice idea
I love this because it obviously doesn't take up any space IN the cage so there's more room for my birdies in there. I use it as a seed feeder and at first they would not go in it but now they love it.

Updating my review after discovering a solution for the leaking!
Some have given bad reviews due to the leaking; I also had a problem with this, and solved it with a waterproof sealant. Fit the 2 parts together, put the nozzle tight against the clear edge underneath. A small amount will get under the rim where the pieces connect. Apply it all the way around the "U", and let it dry for a couple days. I did this over a month ago and it has held up great, not one drop has escaped! I had taken the advice of lowering the water level, but my female finch gets so splashy that there would still be some leaking whenever she bathed, and my male finch found the shallow water so unappealing that he stopped bathing in it entirely. I was a little worried about toxicity and provided a separate drinking cup just in case. They have ignored it, and always drink from this alone. I knew it was unlikely that the sealant would affect the water because I applied it only along the underside edge; it's not like it could travel upwards and round to the top of the brim and into the water itself, but better safe than sorry, right? After 5 weeks of both birds drinking and bathing in it, they are still happy, lively, and want no part of the other water source. I love this product now that I don't have to keep a big ugly plate under it to catch the drips!

Well Designed and Easy To Attach and Remove
This has a rubbery seal between the base and top, so I haven't had any leakage like other reviewers mentioned. Maybe they added this seal after people complained about leaking? It's super attractive, well built, and so easy to put on and take off. There's a wide flap on the back of the base you just position over the bottom of the cage door. A peg on the side aligns it with the bars. Then, you just poke the top, spring-loaded piece through the bars, turn the knob 90 degrees, and release it. Reverse this order to remove it. It couldn't be easier! The bars on my cage are horizontal. It works great with this. I'm not sure how well it would work with vertical bars. I've only seen my bird get in it, once. That was when I first got it. He first started drinking the water while sitting on the edge. Then, he surprised me by plopping all the way into the water and flapping his wings. I've never seen him do this, again. This is no fault of the bathtub. I just think not all birds care for baths! They're very clean creatures, anyway. They don't live on ground-level in their filth like other animals have to. I have a bird bath outside, and I keep the water changed daily. Wild birds drink from it all the time, but I've only seen one Robin take a bath, ever. One bird. One bath. That's all I've ever seen in the outdoor birdbath and in this one. By the way, I have parakeets. I just got the second one a couple weeks, ago, and he doesn't like baths, either. Not yet, anyway. This is a well-built and easy to use birdbath accessory. But, don't expect your bird to use it. It may or may not. If you stayed clean and didn't have to have a bath, would you take them, especially if you didn't like being wet? LOL (I've read that bathing too often is not good for our human skin.) UPDATE: Yesterday, I tried something to get my birds to pay attention to the bathtub. I took away their water bottle! I put fresh water in the tub. Eventually, they were both drinking from it. A few minutes, later, they were both in the water! It worked! I bet this will work for you, too.

My Budgies Love It!
My budgies love this bath, even if my baby girl does still drink from the bath and then go bath in her drinking water bowl from time to time. I've also found that I can put a little water along with some fresh fruits and spinach and take joy in watching my birdos have a very clean and messy time eating their breakfast and bathing simultaneously. I'd also say that this bath is big enough for a conure to squeeze into and probably pretty comfy for a cockateil. Both of my budgies can fit in at the same time but as much as they love to fluff up and pretend to be english budgies, they are just pipsqueaks.

This is my best investment for my feathered friends
I raise zebra finches and they love their daily baths. Every day they would get into their drinking dish to bathe. I saw this JW PET COMPANY INSIGHT Bird Bath at th pet shop so I purchased one. Oh my! What a hit it was! I immediately ordered 9 more. Every morning at 10 am everybody gets a warm bath. It's a good thing that the bathing area is large because it's not unusual to see 4 birds taking a bath at the same time. Even my canaries and parakeet have joined in the fun. I let my canaries fly free. When they see me put fresh water in their bird bath they fly back to their cage to take a bath. Yes this was a great investment for my feathered friends.

I bought this bath and they love it! The first few days I put food ...
I have two Zebra Finches that were bathing in their water feeder. I bought this bath and they love it! The first few days I put food in it to get them used to it, then transitioned to water. It has a nice seal that prevents leaks, and sits securely onto the cage's opening. You can't prevent the splashing when they fly around the cage wet, but this bath is a pretty good gig!

Makes a great feeding dish
This is a great product to feed my bird. Yes, I know it is sold as a birdbath but my guy eats his fruit in it. It keeps the fruit from being flung all over his cage!

My bird LOVES it.
We have a small sparrow-finch hybrid that is going through a hard moult. She loves to take a "bath" in her water dispenser which is not really effective since she has a tube style water dispenser. Mostly, she flings water all over the walls of the room. The bird bath is easy to put together and fits perfectly in the door of her cage (a big pet store parakeet cage). She instinctively knew what it was and wasn't afraid as I installed it. Installation was extremely easy. I didn't have to use the door block because the hanging mechanism also holds the door open well enough (I did use the block just to be safe, but the hanging mechanism actually keeps the door open wider than the block does.) Once installed, she went over to it immediately. It took her a bit to figure out how to get in it (more of a cage set up issue since there's no perch right in front of the door), but when she did, she took a really good bath. The cover kept all the water in her cage.

so far no leaks
Bought this for my Love Birds. I do have the quick lock bird bath, but man does it get messy when they use it. Read a lot of reviews about the JW Pet bird bath and a lot of people mention it leaking. So far I haven't had any issues with leaks. I did notice that the black rubber seal had a bit of excess rubber or whatever it is that prevented me from completely assembling the bird bath, but i did a little trimming and now it's a snug fit. I was worried that my bird wouldn't know what to do with it, but took about two days and they have figured it out. I haven't seen them use it, but I can i see the evidence that they have used it. It's a great product. Also if you have a see catcher you can just cut a hope in it and it'll fit pretty well

Perfect for a conure!
This is amazing and way bigger than I expected my sun counure at first was terrified of it but after a while he started to get used to it and eventually he started using it regularly
