Spectracide vs. Roundup
Several people have compared Spectracide Weed and Grass Killer to Glyphosate (trade name Roundup). IMO they are comparing apples and oranges, as these are complementary products that happen to work differently, but each have their strengths. To wit: - Spectracide is a "foliage burner" i.e. it burns back whatever green foliage you spray it on, but does not go after the roots to the extent that roundup does. This makes it ideal for spraying the "runners" that my hybrid Bermuda lawn sends out into the flower beds next to the lawn. It kills those without affecting the parts of the Bermuda plant that stay on the lawn. And it does it quickly, turning them brown within a day or so. - Glyphosate works by inhibiting the formation of certain plant proteins; this process takes longer (up to a week or more during cool months, or days during the warmer actively-growing summer months) but it kills the entire plant including roots. Furthermore you don't have to cover the entire plant for it to absorb enough herbicide to completely kill the plant. That makes it ideal for spraying some of the hardier, more "shrubby" plants that grow around our property. Taken together (note: not applied together) these two herbicides provide the complete solution to my weed-control needs.

Kills weeds and grass DEAD.
Having been in the hospital for a hip replacement, the weeds had a hay day and filled my yard. I used this product before and liked it better than Roundup and was running out of it so I checked on Amazon and found it for a great price. The thing I liked is at the higher rate, the weeds were obviously affected the next day as in "crispy". I've been cleaning up around my yard with this product and it has done very well. We have cheat grass which loves to take over and this stuff kicks it's butt. I like to use something that shows results right away and this does the trick.

This sh*t kills!
Amazing! Follow directions and apply as follows and BOOM dead grass out of my garden. Turned to this after my lawn guy charged me and extra $10 to spray the garden area.... Let's just say he didn't follow the directions and it didn't kill my grass. Decided I'd spend $10 and actually kill it and be able to for a while. A little goes a long way. Nice to have a product that worked so well!

Also targets hard-to-kill grasses
Looking at the product label, this contains Fluazifop-p-butyl in addition to the typical weed killer ingredients Diaquat dibromide and Dicamba. Fluazifop-p-butyl has been around for decades and it is also safe to use around the house. This weed killer is unique because most others do not contain a specific grass killer ingredient in addition to the broadleaf weed killer ingredients. If you have a lot of grassy weeds, this is a good product to rotate into your arsenal. According to the Center for Invasive Species, "Fluazifop-p-butyl kills annual and perennial grasses, but does little or no harm to broad-leaved plants (dicots). It kills by inhibiting lipid synthesis (lipids are necessary components of cell membranes), particularly at the sites of active growth. In the environment, fluazifop-p-butyl is degraded primarily through microbial metabolism and hydrolysis. It is not degraded readily by sunlight. The half-life of fluazifop-p-butyl in soils is one to two weeks."

Kills everything!
It pretty much kills every weed I've ever used it on BUT it also kills that stubborn grass that tries to creep beyond the lawn and into the rock beds. My rock beds have never looked better, and I've found a way to contain the grass to my actual lawn. I highly recommend this!

Faster Than RoundUp
This is my go to weed killer product. The active ingredient is Diquat Dibromide. This is not Glyphosate that RoundUp uses. Spectracide Weed & Grass killer works a lot faster than others. After spraying, the next day you will see weeds wilting & turning yellowish brown. More sensitive weeds will die quicker. I use this mostly on cracks in driveways & sidewalks. I also use this to spot spray tough weeds in lawns. I mix 3fl oz in a 1 gallon sprayer & it goes a long way. DO NOT spray this all over the yard unless you are replanting everything. This will kill any plant it touches. Tough plants may need multiple sprays. I have had success in killing poison ivy, dandelions, wild violets, plantain, spotted spurge, buttonweed, crabgrass, goose grass, & various types of briars.

Great stuff. I ordered 6 quarts
Great stuff. I ordered 6 quarts. You can see the start of results in hours. Did the job on my "California grass that is thick and spreads with long runners. My only suggestion would be that the manufacturer should offer this in the gallon size as well.

Works great
Works terrific. I used it full strength on some tough weeds. So far they haven't returned. We'll have to see what the monsoons bring. Will definitely be using this product again. Thank you.

GREAT STUFF!!
A FEW YEARS BACK I USED TO USE THE OTHER FAMOUS BRAND - THIS COST LESS AND DOES THE SAME JOB - HAVE BEEN USING THIS FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS AND IT KILLS EVERYTHING QUICKLY - JUST DON'T OVER SPRAY ON YOUR LAWN - WILL KILL GRASS IN OTHER AREAS THOUGH

Very effective.
EFFECTIVE on ANY vegetation - we used it to clear firmly entrenched area of crabgrass. Solution thoroughly killed the grass, making pulling out the remains easy. Then we just kept new sprouts sorayed down. Safe for pets after it is thoroughly DRIED. (We waited two days before letting our dogs out again -- just used puppy pads in the interim.)
