Best investment ever!!
My husband & I recently moved into an apartment. We didn't want to keep our cat Mylo in the guest bedroom & didn't feel comfortable having him roam around when we weren't home. So I looked into the cat playpen & decided to buy it. It was easy to ensemble (although the wheels took me a little longer to figure out). The front doors open large enough to take the litter box out to clean. I purchased an additional cushion as well as a cat hammock (highly recommend) The first day Mylo wasn't used to it but now he loves it & it's his own cozy space. I highly recommend this product!

Roomy and Well Made, and my Cats Love It
I bought this as a storm shelter for my four cats, all adult and ranging from 10 - 16 pounds, so they're not small cats. I fitted it out with beds and dangling toys and a corner litter box with the idea of making it something they thought of as a fun hangout instead of confinement. Apparently I succeeded, because they love it and often sleep and play in there. The cage is roomy enough for the four cats, including the 16-pounder who has a "don't-touch-me" zone. Generally this requires that at least one of the cats be on a shelf instead of the floor, but it also helped to put in some beds and baskets they could be either inside or atop. The construction is sturdy, the doors latch in a way that even my bizarrely dexterous and intelligent cats can't open, and the double doors open widely enough to get large-ish items such as bed and litter boxes inside. I bought the cushions sold by Midwest and a softer, sturdier hammock to make cushy places to hang out. That's a 14-pound Maine coon in the photo for scale. I told him to smile for the camera, and he did.

I stacked two on top of each other
I have two of these stacked on top of each other in the garage in front of a south window. I cut hole in bottom corner of top cage and in top corner of bottom cage so that the cages connect together. I stacked them, connected with lots of plastic cable ties, and I anchored it all to the garage wall with more cable connectors and screws in the wall, so it won't tip. Stacking them on top of each other gives my 2 cats a super large cage with many levels. I also added extra shelves made with cardboard over cookie cooling racks (from the dollar store) all held together with more plastic cable ties. I have a large litter box on the lowest level, food and water on the next level, and they fight over who gets the highest shelf to sleep. My cats are very happy in their cages.

This has been a lifesaver for Casper.
This has been a life saver for the elderly cat I took in. She was formerly feral and had gotten sick enough I wanted to bring her in but she needed a cage. This is large enough for her to move around, and she seems to like it. I can medicate her, she doesn't have to put up with the extreme heat, extreme cold or storms. She has decided, I think, that climate controlled living is the greatest thing ever for old cats. And this cage allows her plenty of room to move around. I put a litter thing on the bottom level, her bed and food containers on a higher level, and she really seems to like it and be comfortable with it. And I don't have to worry about a predator getting to her outside. Only problem is that I have her cage next to my bed and I'm really allergic to cats, but if it will make her happy and keep her alive, guess it is worth it. Hopefully I won't die before she does due to my allergy to her.

Exactly What I Needed For Feral Cat
Bought it for a feral cat to accustom him to household activities and other animals. Although he had health issues, a smaller crate was too confining. He can lounge on the padded shelf or get higher to look out the window, stretch and even play with toys and the other cats through the wires. I put my 'therapy' cat in with him on occasion and think two medium to small cats would be fine. The 2 pairs of doors let me change out food, water and litter box with minimal upset to the cat. Had trouble getting the lock washers on the screws for the casters, but otherwise was able to put it together myself. Did not see the stability issues mentioned by some, although when I finally release him into the greater household, I will fix a few places where I realize now I didn't put tab A in slot A correctly. Then I will add zip ties. Beyond 'taming' the feral cat, I think this will be perfect for my spooky cats that won't come in when I am out of town and have a caretaker. I can crate them in this and know they are safe and fed. **UPDATE 3/4/16 - This has turned out to be super handy to have around. When we had a serious round of tornadoes, I was able to put 5 out of 6 cats in here and roll it into the bathroom. I know it probably wouldn't survive anything like a direct hit, but I felt better knowing where they were. (The sixth cat was the feral one in my original review. He watched me put the others in and gave me a 'don't even think about it' look, so I left him on his own.) I've also used it as a de-stressing safe place for a cat with anxiety issues.

Successfully Used for a Rabbit
I had been looking at rabbit hutches, but all the reviews said they were pretty small, and weren't strong enough to hold anything larger than a dwarf. I had a tall rabbit cage before, and my past rabbits could easily jump from one shelf to another, so I figured I would give this a shot. Here's what I figured: It wouldn't be large enough to offset the cost of a smaller/cheaper cage; it wouldn't be sturdy enough for him to jump around safely; the shelves wouldn't hold him; the bottom wouldn't be able to hold his litter box plus his food, water, and treats. I was in a pinch and needed a cage ASAP, so I took the plunge and figured it would just have to work until I could return it. I was actually super surprised because it was way bigger than I thought! I've put this thing together three times after having to move it twice (like to a different house and back, not room-to-room), and although putting it together alone is a pain, it's totally doable. The shelves can hold him, but I went to Home Depot and got some wood to add a longer shelf so he would be more comfortable, plus I added a hammock he doesn't give a crap about. The bottom holds a standard size litter box, plus all his other stuff, and he still has room to hang out down there. He's the largest rabbit I've ever had, and easily the heaviest, but I don't worry at all that this cage will collapse or the shelves will fall down. Negatives: Don't even try with the wheels, I read they were hard to put on, but hot damn, don't even try. I gave up and just put it on a spare rug and it works fine and the tray still comes out. There are big hooks that hold the sides into the base that sick out on the outside; it comes with some rubber caps for those, but mine only came with enough for about half, and they come off so easily I think there's only one left. This isn't a negative, just a heads up, but my rabbit chewed up the shelf cover it comes with. He loves it and sits on it, but if you have a chewing rabbit, maybe skip it. Overall I'm really happy with this cage! Specifically rabbit cages are really expensive and normally more cutesy than practical. Ben is the chillest rabbit ever, so if yours burrows or thrashes around maybe watch them, but I keep food bags on top and it's totally sturdy. I'd buy it again, plus you can use it for other animals really easily.

JUST BUY IT! YOU AND YOUR CAT WILL LOVE IT!
This is by far, the best money I have spent for my cats. It does double duty here. I have a 8 month old who was keeping us awake at night. I bought this specific playpen on the advice of a no kill shelter. DO put on the wheels.(I had a cat recovering from surgery I used it for during the day to wheel him out for fresh air. MY 8 month old kitty absolutely loves it. He even goes in on his own by a certain time at night. The design is made to easily clean and put together. So pet and owner are both happy . Anyone who complains about this pen is crazy. For the money, you can't say one bad thing about it. The construction is great. It is heavy and our post office wouldn't deliver, so my husband had to go get it. I slid it out of the box, easily, then assembled and I am a 114lb wimpy older lady. I will say one must is: buy BLACK WIRE TIES. I bought the cheapo 4" long ones. I put them on each corner.

great cage
I have this cage for years. I keep new rescues quarantined in it while they are being tested for FIV/Leukaemia. Also it's good to use for introducing new cats to my cats. The cats can see each other and smell each other safely. Bottom level I put litter box on one side and water and food on the other side. The cat can sleep on the three levels. When I'm done with the cage, I collapse it and shove it in my closet.

A solution that allowed us to keep our kitty!
My cat was urinating throughout the house. Rather than surrender him, he now lives (very happily) in his cage when we cannot directly supervise him. Super easy to assemble. The two sets of double-doors make it easy to feed him and to clean his litter box. The same company makes great little clip-on food dishes, and I got an extra plush pad, too (the cage comes with one already). I would DEFINITELY purchase this again and actually already recommended it to a friend.

Just like home!!!
I am really excited with this kennel. It is twice the size of a cage I found at the local big box store for the same price. For me the cage was super simple to assemble. When I received it, the cage walls were collapsed and had a few wire ties holding it. When I cut the ties I discovered that cage walls were all attached together and needed to just be unfolded. The side walls have little heart shaped protrusions and the front and back panels simply rest on those shapes. I extended on side wall and hooked it into the front and back panels and then did the opposite side wall. Finally I put the cage top on, which has built in hooks that click into place. It took me less than two minutes and the cage was standing upright. The casters took me a few minutes because I have large hands and the parts are small, but it was a simple task none the less. I found no sharp edges or areas of concern for my kitten. As some other posters have commented, the shelf system appears unstable, but that is not really the case. The shelves are wire framed like the rest of the cage, but they have very thin plastic panel inserts to keep a cats foot from going through the wire slots. If those panels were slightly thicker, they would rattle less and there would be much less confusion. I took a couple small pieces of cardboard from the box and inserted them into the corners holding the plastic and it stopped the rattle and everything is fine. The casters work well. The cage is easily moved around to be put near the window or when vacuuming. I have a tiny kitten, so i built ramps for him to get from shelf to shelf.
