My granddaughter loves these magnetic letters! It's nice to have something to amuse her when I'm in the kitchen, and as she grows she'll probably enjoy writing words on our refrigerator. These are well made and come in a very nice storage box. When she's not at our house, I put the letters away and store them on top of our refrigerator. She likes taking them out of the box and putting them on the refrigerator.

I bought these magnets because they seem to be a very nice quality for my kids. The biggest factor was that the magnet is across the entire back of the letters. I felt uncomfortable buying other types of magnet letters like the cheap plastic letters with tiny magnets that could potentially fall out, as I believe they are just glued into the letters. They also look fairly nice on my fridge. I mean as nice as a bunch of letters sprawled across a fridge can look. But they aren't too tacky and obvious. I feel my kitchen isn't over run by toys like other areas of my house. Also my kids can play on the fridge while I cook meals or do dishes. Its nice to be able to pause and talk about letters. We are able to multitask well while learning our letters. I began with only the capital letters and left the lowercase in the wooden box that it came with. The reason I chose to do this is that my kids are only 3 and while they do know their alphabet pretty well I think they are still a bit young to begin understanding uppercase vs. lowercase. This purchase was so worth it. Bonus: It comes with upper case AND lower case letters. This will be a great addition to our homeschooling and preschool area in our home.

I purchased these magnets as well as the Melissa & Doug wooden number and shape magnets. These are quality wooden magnets. They do not peel and they also stick well to the fridge. It was also a bonus that these magnets were thick enough that they do not slide under the fridge. These were bought for a nine-month-old, so I did not put The lowercase letters onto the fridge as they are smaller than the uppercase letters and would pose a choking risk. My son loves sticking these to the fridge, I am glad we got them. We did have some issues with the color fading after my son chewed on one of the magnets. I would not consider this a quality issue seeing as magnets are not meant to be used for teteething!

Worth getting if your looking for magnetic letters. We got a few seta for the kids to play and make words. My son who is learning how to spell really enjoys plaaying with them. Not a learning toy on its own. It is just a toy. But promotes it and great for parents to challenge kids. Also sticks well and resist normal wear and tear but not baby chewing. Better than other letter magnets. Would be great if there were a complementary set of kore commonly used letters in the English language so more words can be made. We stick them on the costco megnetic white board and write in the missing letters as a learning game.

We previously paid more for a different set that was very disappointing in size and quality. This Melissa & Doug set has larger letters that are thicker and easier for our grandchild to grab and hold, a much better value than the other set. The set has upper and lower case letters. It does not have numbers, but the description did not say it would so we didn’t expect it to. They are described as wood, which is a stretch but technically true, in that they are made from thin layers of veneer or pressboard. Still better quality than the JQP set.

Good for little fingers. They work well on the refrigerator and on a magnetic white board. The magnets are a thin film type all across the back of the letters/numbers - strong enough to hold themselves in place - not strong enough to pinch little fingers. This means they won't really work to hold paper / art work / etc. The main problem is that the storage boxes are not designed for little fingers. The sliding top is not easy for children to open or close, which is not a problem if you have enough magnetic surface and do not need to store the extra pieces. Also, one of the boxes was stepped on ans the clear top became wedged inside the box. Not a big deal, but frustrating for our toddler. All-in-all, a good product that will be well used for years.

I am a first grade special education teacher, and my students love these. I put them on my magnetic board, and we do all sorts of all activities with them. Students just like to play with them overall on their free time as well. You will need at least 2 boxes so that there are enough letters to spell enough words with more than one child. Great buy.

These have been a huge hit at our house with our two year old. The set comes with a set of uppercase and lowercase letters. As my son is learning his ABCs, Pros: -I like the fact that the upper/lowercase letters are the same color, so it's easy to match up (i.e. both the upper/lowercase A is red). -These are Melissa and Doug, so the quality is of the high standard I've come to expect from the brand. The wood is solid, the colors are vibrant and look great despite some rough use (i.e. throwing) -The nice thing about these is the magnet is a thin sheet that is attached to the entire surface of the letter (unlike those little plastic letters that just have a little magnet attached to the back). This is a key feature, because that means these letters won't scratch surfaces (i.e. your stainless steel fridge!). My son mainly uses them on his easel but has wandered into the kitchen with them and I don't have to worry about him putting them on the fridge. We have been very pleased and liked these so much that we ordered other magnet sets from Melissa and Doug (i.e. the animals, cars, etc).

I purchased these for my two year old who is very into the alphabet right now! He loves them!! They stick well to any magnetic surface he’s tried them on. The upper and lower case letters are the same color, which makes it easier for him to match the two. The only con is that the paint has already started to come off of his favorite letter after only a couple days.

Very nice set. Simple and no little magnet pieces to fall out. The entire backside of the piece is magnet. I bought two sets so the kids (3-yrs and 7-yrs old) can spell more words. Nice little box for storage although we probably won’t use it much once they’re all on the fridge.
