Got for my son and he loves it!
My son has really taken to woodworking in the last year, so I've been getting him various tools of his own so he doesn't have to borrow mine anymore. I bought this for him for Xmas because he liked the one I own, but when I got this I realized this is nicer than mine (maybe it's because it's not 30 years old and heavily used?). But it's a fabulously simple and well-made speed slide angle ruler. The multiple notches are awesome for staying on point as you mark your pieces. It's HEAVY-gauge metal makes it super sturdy. This little guy is going to be pivotal in my son's tool collection. I just have to somehow make sure he doesn't get better than me in his woodworking skills.

Best there is, measurements are true.
The bestseller squire for the money. I would have easily paid twice this for a US crafted tool of this quality. It has every feature you need while incorporating a ton that you will only use periodically. The cast aluminum is strong and light weight. The measurements are true. I didn’t have any rough edges from the cast. Book is a very nice touch. If Swanson can do this in the US, no one else has any excuse.

Greatest Swanson yet
This is by far Swanson’s best square. The add on part which assists in measuring “out of square” carpentry is genius. It allows to measure for compensation, which is great when fabricating/making stairs in old houses. I’ve also used when making cabinets with slightly warped wood.

used mainly to align table saw sleds
I purchased this large speed square really only to align fences to the blade on my table saw. I find the 6" too small and this one just perfect. I prefer the 6" for carpentry type work when using dimensional lumber and I am sure this would be perfect for that too. It is lightweight and fairly accurate. Out the box it is as square as can be measured in a workshop with normal tools so perfect for aligning my jigs to square enough on the table saw.

Sort of a Carpenters speed square
Perfectly Squared and finally something that is sized for real wood. The little plastic ones are ok if you are just framing 2x4 but this one can do much larger panels and has nice marking slots for carrying a line through the wood. Feels substantial in your hand and no damage from being tossed around my garage unlike the plastic ones that chip. Markings are easy read and the little book that comes with it is a nice bonus for laying out steps.

Speed squares are great and use them all of the time
I had a smaller speed square and used it all of the time. I picked this one up to complement the other and use them all of the time. Great for quick straight 2x4 cuts with a circular saw or marking straight lines across a piece of wood.

I can easily cut a 2x12 with this and a circular saw
wow, this is a big one. I can easily cut a 2x12 with this and a circular saw. . . haven't used many of the other features since I always have the small one with me and have to go find this one

Great value
Best you’re gonna get for 20 bucks. You can get away with a plastic one but why if you’re going to use it a lot

wish I would have purchased sooner
Use this all the time for all kinds of random things.

Great Square
I like the square, but the only thing about the instructions is that they do not tell you what to do with the bar that came with it or how to properly install it.
