I regularly replace my surge protectors. They are taking invisible"hits" all of the time. And then there are the ones that we see...the power goes out, etc. Most people don't realize that the protection is decreased (or even non existent) after time. The higher "joules" rating, the better off you are. "375 joules" isn't going to protect that new LCD TV. Replace the surge protector every couple of years and DO NOT count on Belkin (or any other company) to stand behind their warranty. Just read the reviews of users who have had electronics damaged due to surges.

Very happy with the product. It is as described. I used it for the inside of my hardtop gazebo in my backyard, which allows me to run LED light strips, a fan and a speaker. If you want mounting options- consider Gorilla brand heavy duty double stick tape. That's what I used and am very happy. The gorilla tape is the ONLY tape I have found that will stand up to HOT temps, like we see in AZ. The metal gazebo gets HOT in the summer, but the power strip has stayed up thru the worst. Best feature of the power strip is being able to move/angle the sockets.

The outermost outlets can all be rotated 90 degrees (to a horizontal orientation), so this surge suppressor works well with all the odd-shaped power cubes we have inflicted upon us these days. An alternating one up/one sideways configuration works a lot better than the "fixed layout" of the 12-outlet Belkin surge suppressor that I just replaced with one of these pivot-plug models., and unlike the suppressor it replaced, this one has an open /bad ground connection indicator that is ON when the ground connection is okay. The 4320 joule rating is a "must" for lightning-plagued Florida, and the cable/satellite coax suppress is definitely a "boots and suspenders" fix for the potentially lightning-impaired. Highly recommended. If only it had an RJ45 jack for 10/100/1000 Ethernet, as opposed to the RJ11 phone jack suppressor, it would be perfect for those of us who have long since given up on Ma Bell (standard land lines).

This is one of the few surge protector that holds up what's advertised. The clamping voltage rating is truly 400, which is what we suppose to use for sensitive electronic equipment like treadmills and speakers. Many of surge protectors advertise as 400V but the product itself says 500V, very disappointed. Look at the 3rd picture of the product photo and you will see the voltage protection rating. It's not all about joules when it comes to surge protector. Yes, it looks bulky but I would get this again if I ever need a real deal when it comes to surge protection.

I purchased the 8-Outlet pivot-plug after a recent thunderstorm which caused my home theater to completely reset. I admit that I purchased this strictly for the design and small footprint and in those areas its A+. Hides away way better than my last one. Fast forward to a few hours ago and a horrible lightening storm rolled through NJ. I can attest to every light and appliance in my townhouse receiving several power surges. During this time not one electronic (including the modem and router that will reset at the slightest surge) was not affected. No sign of surge (lights flashing or powering down) No reset at all. I can not speak to the negative reviews and know I would be contacting my lawyer if I were in their situation, however, I have had the opposite experience... so far. Bought this Nov 2, 2013. After seeing many bad reviews recently(today 22 July, 2017)I have to let everyone know that my unit is still going strong almost 4 years later. Used in two different houses, one older and now in a newer house, but it still seems to be working. Its not the best one i can get to protect two game consoles, a smart tv, 5.1 speakers, and occasionally a laptop but I've never had any electronics go bad using this. Pretty sure its not rated to protect any of those things I just listed too, lol. But i believe a bar-type surge protector from Belkin caused my 7.1 700w speakers and slim 360 to go bad but that was in the old house. This is my only Belkin surge protector now but like i said its still going strong even after several recent power hits i have no problem. Will probably replace with a better one of the same type by next year as this will be reaching 5 years(hopefully).

These are my hands down favorite for lab sets and larger home entertainment jobs. I am a technical director for a small rural school district. Being a rural school district, it has fairly typical rural power problems. Massive power swings, outages, surges ETC. These are the only 12-outlet protectors I've used that can take multiple hits without the "protected" light going out. I always have two ready to go in my shop, I always use them on my lab builds, and the one I'm currently reviewing was purchased for my home entertainment center. The pivoting outlets on the sides make it easy to actually use all 12 outlets, even if you have wall warts, the cord is a great length and nice and heavy, the switch has a very positive action and the cable management latch is surprisingly effective. Best of all, I've used somewhere around 30 of these things in the past 3 years, all on new installs and many with questionable power quality, and have not lost a single device connected to them.

I had two multiple outlet extensions behind my entertainment system and it looked like a rats nest back there. This solves a large part of that as I can now plug everything into a single power strip. Plus, this power strip has a very highly rated power surge protection level. I have a number of power transformers that must plug directly into this power strip, and the eight rotating power plugs are nicely spaced for these. And if you have an extra-wide one, or an extra long one, as I do, the end plugs, and there are four of those, make connecting these transformers much easier. And even if you lose the use of one plug to accommodate a large power transformer, you still have eleven power plugs which is enough for most entertainment systems. I have successfully connected my TV, Blue Ray player, DVR, sound system (requires two power plugs), solar system monitor, modem and wireless router, and still have available plugs.

Very nice surge protector! I replaced my 10-year old Monster surge protector for my AV equipment in the Family Room (TV, cable box, sound bar, Wii, fish tank, etc). I did a lot of research before making this purchase. My old surge protector was rated for about 2160 joules protection, but this Belkin is rated at 4320 joules, and it had 12-outlets and coaxial cable capability. I also liked the pivoting outlets for ease of use, especially for the odd-sized plugs. It was easy to work with and not overly obtrusive (mine is located behind my cabinet and out of sight). I read some horror stories about how Belkin would not stand behind their product without receipt of purchase, etc. I registered it with Belkin, I always save my receipts, and it is saved on Amazon's site for all my purchases. Even if they didn't replace the protector I would consider it a very low price to pay if it protected my equipment. I have a friend who is an IT Professional and he recommends this model. At this time I am very pleased with this product. If there are any issues later, I will update this review.

I bought this surge protector in September 2012. It is the only surge protector (out of four) that did not get fried during the power surges/outage from the big storm in March 2018, which I'm thankful for because I had my router, modem, two surveillance system DVRs and adaptors for sixteen surveillance cameras plugged into it. I not only lost those other surge protectors but some of the gadgets plugged into them, including a 40" Samsung LCD TV and three digital lamp timers. I got another one of these surge protectors right after the storm.
