*** This is my review of the Wahl Color Pro Complete Hair Cutting Kit. I paid FULL PRICE for this product. I was NOT Given a Discount of any kind *** These get a lot of action in my house. I used my last one (this brand but not this model) until it died, almost 5 years. I've owned Wahl brand clippers for over 20 years now. They are workhorses and very well made. What I never owned or even knew existed is this color code version. No more struggling to find the length of the guide comb you want (1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, etc...) to use. With Wahl's Color Pro Complete Hair Cutting Kit, it's fast and easy to find the exactly the length you want. Just look at the color-code diagram on the handle. It shows you exactly what color goes with which length guide comb. If you want left or right ears, it's the black, 1/8 inch is Red, 1/4 inch is Purple, 3/8 inch is Blue, 1/2 inch is Gold, etc.. up until 1" which is Light Blue. This makes it easy for remembering the lengths you use. It's so much easier to remember the color Purple than 1/4 inch, and it's really much easier to find the purple or blue, pink, etc.. than it is to find it among all black guide combs. This hair cutting kit makes it so, so easy. Other than the color coded guide for hair lengths, this is your basic Wahl Hair Cutting Kit. It's weighty, solidly built, has an ergonomically designed handle. This specific kit comes with nine color-coded guide combs and two black guide combs for over the ear. You get very sharp hair-cutting scissors, two combs, blade oil, a blade cover and what I think is a goatee guide comb which I haven't used. This is a very nice hair-cutting kit that all fits inside its case that has a nice handle for traveling if need be. I've used this already over half a dozen times and it works flawlessly. Very happy with my purchase.

Let er rip baby. Yes, you may see reviews that this is not an industrial strength clipper that a pro doing cuts all day long might not appreciate but for crying out loud what do people expect: that this will mow the lawn? LoL. I'm iffy about Wahl products; there are some good with not so good with them. I got this as a recommendation and for me, it works GREAT! When you measure what you get for what you pay, I don't think you can do much better. I use this for my scalp and have a different brand/type for mustache-beard and the combo is unbeatable. You get a sense of weight and quality with this and the sizes of the attachments should cover just about any length/style you are looking to handle with this style of trimmer. The funny/fun/impressive part is that when you switch this on, it powers up- I mean it fires up. It's got a motor! Recommend.

I'VE BEEN CUTTING MY HUSBAND'S HAIR FOR MANY YEARS. IN THE PAST, I USED A VERY OLD PAIR OF WAHL CLIPPERS WITH ONE CUTTING EDGE & ONE COMB TO USE. IT FINALLY DIED.AFTER LOOKING FOR AN HOUR, THIS CLIPPER SET CAUGHT MY EYE. GOOD BRAND NAME. MANY, MANY COMBS. A CARRY CASE, AND VERY INEXPENSIVE. THEY JUST LOOKED TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. (Judge Judy was talking in my ear, "IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS") I ORDERED THEM. THESE AREN'T GOOD CLIPPERS. THESE ARE GREAT CLIPPERS!! THEY'RE LIGHTWEIGHT, AND FEEL REALLY GOOD TO HOLD (ERGONOMIC) THEY'RE VERY, VERY SMOOTH TO USE! (I HAD NO IDEA THEY WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOUR HAND NUMB FROM VIBRATING SO MUCH ~ ;WHAT MY OLD PAIR ALWAYS DID) IT USED TO TAKE ME ABOUT A HALF HOUR TO CUT MY HUBBY'S HAIR. NOT ANYMORE! FROM START TO FINISH IT TAKES ABOUT 15 MIN. ALL WITH NO PULLING OR TUGGING ON THE HAIR. THE INSTRUCTION BOOK IS VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND!! IT HAS A HUGE SELECTION OF COMBS TO USE FOR CLIPPING VARIOUS LENGTHS OF HAIR! WITH THE EASY TO READ INSTRUCTIONS & THE COLOR CODED COMBS, IT'S VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ANYTHING BUT A PERFECT CUT! SERIOUSLY. BUY THIS CLIPPER KIT. IT HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED & NOTHING YOU WON'T. DON'T WAST YOUR MONEY ON EXPENSIVE CLIPPERS WHEN THESE ARE PERFECT & INEXPENSIVE. I'M NOT AT ALL SORRY I BOUGHT THIS KIT. YOU WON'T BE, EITHER!

If you're looking for an affordable and easy-to-use set of clippers, this product is an excellent choice. Like any electronic, there is a learning curve to properly using such a device, but with some perseverance and family members with unshakable self esteem, you too can deliver home haircuts that are sure to impress (eventually). For sure read the instructional pamphlet and watch some 'How To' footage, and check, double check, and triple check which guard you put on the clippers before you make an attempt at the back of your loved one's head. The kit comes with everything you'd need to perform a 'clipper haircut.' It even comes with a comb and scissors if you really want to branch out! The kit also comes with oil for the blades, various guards for different levels of clipping and for doing around the ears, and others I'm yet to understand. The case is a little flimsy, but it holds everything still the same. Thus far, we've used it to shave one head down to nothing (sportin' the bald look), fix a horrible home haircut gone very wrong (done elsewhere first), and keep up with summertime short hairdos. It's a great kit for the price and quality.

I don't trust people with my hair; I've had a few bad experiences. I literally went years without a haircut when the only person I trusted to cut my hair moved to Thailand. As such, I've had long hair for quite some time. It took a long time before finding somewhere else I trusted. When my wife convinced me to do something different, I opted for a top knot and short on the sides. The only issue was that I didn't want to get a hair cut every month or so when the sides grew out; that seemed excessive and expensive. So I bought these and had my wife try her hand. The first time was terrifying. "Oh no!" is not something you want to hear when someone is cutting your hair. Ever. But eventually everything was figured out. They've got instructions for those who have no idea what they're doing. I'm glad I made the purchase. We've used these maybe 5 times so far, so they have more than paid for themselves, and with satisfactory results. They are easy to use and appear to be well constructed. I expect these to last for many years to come.

So many user error 1 star reviews on here that are easily fixable. These clippers can be taken apart, calibrated, and need to be oiled. As long as you do that, every 1 star review on here is wrong. I have been trimming my own hair for 20 years, and I can assure you, for home use, these clippers will last me the rest of my life. There are a lot of guards, but they only go up to 1 inch, which for me isn't a problem. Wahl is a top name in home use clippers and these are top quality Wahl clippers. If you need professional quality clippers, maybe spend more than $30. If you have never clipped hair before, maybe don't be a jerk and blame the clippers for your 1 star reviews. P.S. I am reviewing this product 1 year after I bought it and have given myself atleast 1 haircut a month. These clippers are STILL BRAND NEW. Don't be a tool and misuse your tools. Thanks.

Definitely a great set of beginner clippers for the price. This set has most everything that you need to start cutting hair at home. It includes a nice set of easy to read numbered and color coded clipper guides, two combs, a brush to clean the hair from the clippers, and clipper oil. The clippers have a solid feel and some heft to them, and even have a little loop integrated into the cord to hang them from a hook. The blue rubber ovemolding on the clippers gives them a soft grippy texture making them easy to hold over the duration of a hair cut. By using the assortment of clippers and the lever to adjust the clipper head, you can cut hair to any length and even do a great fade. The clippers are sharp and have plenty of power as they cut thick hair with no problem. Only minor gripes that I would have, is that the two halves of the case don't match up exactly all the way around and that the cord seems very thin.

I get my hair cut every 3-4 weeks at Great Clips for $22. So on average I spend close to $300/yr on getting my hair cut, and that's a cheap cut that starts looking funky. I used to go to a barbershop that charged $46 for a basic haircut, but after three months I realized it wasn't worth it. This is my second pair of Wahl clippers. I had gotten a more expensive set a few years ago, but could never get myself to do the first cut (I was going to cut it myself). Ended up gifting it to a friend who promptly began cutting his own hair, and very well. I finally picked this up in lieu of going to GC, and after briefly looking at the cutting instructions, began cutting my own hair. (I wear glasses that I had to remove, which was also pretty terrifying). I used #4 for the bottom section of my hair, #5 for the middle, and the top #8 for the top of my head. I haven't gotten to doing the ears myself yet, but seeing how I did it myself with no glasses on (-5/-5.25 vision, so it's pretty bad!) and got good results, I don't see it being too hard. I think making the decision to cut my own hair is one of the best cost cutting methods that'll save me hundreds each year. If I do need a good quality haircut, I'll just go into the barbershop and cough up the extra money, but otherwise, now that I've taken the first step to cut my own hair, I'll just do that. Remember, until you're really comfortable with how you like your hair, use the largest guards and work your way down until you're satisfied with the length!

When my Conair clippers finally gave out after years of use, I bought an Remington set that I used once because it pulled on my hair and it was a chore to clip my hair. I looked on Amazon and had totally forgotten the well-respected Wahl Line of clippers. I decided to go with this brand and the next step was to sort through all the models listed. I read all the reviews and comparisons and still it got confusing. Did I need to go high end or would an under $20 set be fine? After reading as much as I could, I decided on this Pro Complete model. I cut my hair short so I didn't really care about the different color guides but they are a nice touch. This model was listed as "heavyduty" and that seemed just right for. I just used the clippers for the first time and could not be more pleased. The clippers are not lightweight as other cheaper brands are. It feels nice and sturdy--not too heavy but not lightweight. I did not use any guides and the clippers effortlessly trimmed my hair. I also trimmed off my beard with no pulling or tugging of the hair. Really, I am totally thrilled with this set and it was under $20!!!! It comes in a plastic case (nothing special about the case but it does the job). I would highly recommend this Wahl Color Pro model if you are looking for a quality hair clipper at a super great price. I feel these clippers will do the job for years!

I love this item so much, I bought it specifically for the color coded labels. Like other products, the guards have numbers to tell you what length, but this one tells you the guard length and makes it so much easier to pick out with color. I can't remember what number guard I used before but I can remember what color I used before and honestly it makes it so much faster. I use this on my dad and brother, I'm able to give them a haircut in about 30 minutes. I also use it on myself which is a lot harder than asking someone to use on me but I know what I want. I go on youtube and watch haircut videos to learn about how to cut and techniques to use. This saves a lot of money on haircuts, for example lets say a haircut was $10, this is really "cheap" if you go to like an asian barber shop but if you go somewhere professional, its $20+ but for simplicity sake lets go with $10. If you have 3 in the family like I do, that's $30 and then maybe $2 tip for each head, that's a total of $36 for every one or two months. (A more expensive haircut would tip a lot more) The $36 covers the cost of this shaver and then some. I save a lot more because my sides and back grow out pretty fast and I like to keep them short. The kit comes with two combs, several guards, and scissors which helps with cutting the top.
