This product made my and my cats life much happier! Tried to give her the little orange pill by crushing it in wet food, she would only e st a guy amount so I never knew if she was getting all her meds. Probably not. I had previously tried the transdermal gel pen, it was ok, but it was impossible to tell when it was going empty until you tried to get some out and it was empty. Also the pen is very expensive compared to the pills. These pill boxers worked very well. Popped the tiny pill into the little hle, squeezed shut, and tossed it to my cat. Gulp! Pill and treat gone! I even got on my hands as knees and examined the carpet to look for the pill. I was so encouraged, she has another med that requires pulling apart the gel capsule and sprink!ing on the set ffod. Same problem, I was never sure if she got all the med. I opened the gel capsule and carefully poured contents into the hole, pinched shut, tossed cat, cat scarfed down. I was so happy tears streaming down cheeks. My cat is 14, and when she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, I was terrified i was gonna lose her. Esp when I couldn't get the meds down. I have had a stroke and a heart attack, and this stress wasnt helping. I had this problem for a month, she wasn't getting much better and I think because she was not getting all of her badly needed neds. I worried constantly to the point I had chest pain and arm numbness. Wasn't sleeping...all not good for me. I feel if this would had kept on it may have gotten me pretty sick again. I thank God I think I have found the answer. My only complaint- hopefully there is a bigger size for bigger pills... The kind i got just fits the tiny orange pill.

Outstanding, obviously has strong flavor, possibly stronger chicken flavor than the regular Greenies although that might just be because they're twice as big. One of our cats sneakily licks up some tasty soap(!) about 4 times a year & needs pilling for soap-induced diarrhea. He adores the chicken flavor so much that he's even eaten the pill by itself the few times it's fallen out of the Pocket. At a guess the pill takes on some of the chicken flavor once wrapped because he certainly won't take a pill by itself otherwise. Our cats get regular Greenies chicken treats as training rewards plus a few every evening so they associate that taste with Good Things. This may help with acceptance as most cats have to chew the Pocket/pill combo to get them down (our soap lover is a BIG 25-lb Maine Coon & even his huge maw has to chew the pockets). Some thoughts if your cat eats around the pill & spits it out: - never force the cat, act as if they're getting a treat - load the pocket 30-90 minutes before pilling so the pill gets coated in grease from the Pocket - if you don't use Greenies chicken treats, try them. If you cat likes them be sure to give the Pocket the same way you give the treat (our gang sit in a row for treats & if being pilled they must sit for the Pocket; often those not being pilled will form up a row so they get a plain treat while The Poopy One gets the Pocket) Good luck!

Why in heaven's name have I been trying to put my dog's pills in bread slathered in peanut butter? In marshmallows? Hidden in their kibble? In some gravy meat concoction. Literally works like 50% of the time. So these. Yes. These are cat pockets. Last I checked, my dogs also enjoy salmon and tuna and anything slightly resembling food. And their hecka cheaper than the dog pockets. So, the turds get kitty treats. *My dogs have NEVER spit these out. Even when the pill is poking out and it's super obvious that I am trying to drug them. *They stay fresh for well over a month (even when I don't seal the package) and even when they're less than fresh, they are still able to be mashed around a pill or whatnot. *And it's soooooo much easier to give these than having to prep a homemade pill vehicle. These. They'll change your life.

Absolutely thankful for this product. My little Calico pictured is on medication right now and I have been struggling to get her to eat them. It's a little tiny yellow 1/2 pill and no matter what I've shoved them in she has been able to detect it. The vet said that they are pretty tasteless or whatever but she's always noticed it was there and we'll just go around it I got so frustrated that I almost gave up. Trying to get her to eat one became a hassle and I would spend 20 or 30 minutes having to sit down on the floor on her level or put her on something and try to watch her eat it and put it in something she wouldn't notice and make sure there's not too much food that she would go around it and I was nearing my wit's end. finally decided to look back into these after many many years of forgetting they existed and just got them today. For the size of the pill, I only needed a half of a pill pocket. I used the top of the package that you tear off to just slice right down the center of the pocket, then put the tiny piece of the pill inside the u-shaped Left Behind from cutting in half and then just molded the food around the pill. She could smell it from the second I open the bag and was more than ready to get the pill pocket when I finally set it down for her. She didn't waste any time gobbling it up. Normally when I try to trick her into eating a pill she'll sniff at the food a couple times before deciding she's going to try and eat it but there was no hesitation. I had to give one to my fat ginger boy because of course I can't just give one something without the other so he got the other half of the pill pocket empty. I'd call it a win-win situation LOL Needless to say they are both absolutely nuts over them and they were both trying to get in the bag as I took a picture of it. I got the chicken flavor but these guys are not picky I'm sure they would have loved to either one.

Wow, these work great! I've tried sneaking pills into my 20 year old cat via bits of cheese, chicken, tuna, beef, even pasta with sauce. The pasta worked the best out of the other foods, but it isn't practical to keep pasta dishes on hand all the time. Sometimes the bits of food would work OK, but often she'd discover the pill inside and stop eating it. Then she was on to my plan and wouldn't take the pill no matter what I put it in. That left me with having to force her to take the pills via a "pill popper" (pill syringe), but often she'd just throw the pill back up. I have to medicate her daily for anxiety and a related bladder inflammation issue, so if I don't get the pills in her every 24 hours, she deteriorates rapidly, cowering in a corner while lying in her own filth. The Pill Pockets work great! She gobbles them down without a hitch! Once she caught on that there was a pill inside, but it didn't seem to matter when I tried again a moment later. She at it anyway, getting the needed does. I'll be sticking with these from now on. Great product!

PRO: I have 4 cats. 2 will take pills like champs, 1 will swipe me with her claws to get me to stop, and the other (Rylee who gives the biggest fight when its time for her medicine) will bite and claw me until im bleeding profusely and will not open her mouth to take the pill the way the vet showed me how to give it. If there is a chance of me getting it in Rylee's mouth, she spits it out. So i gave these pockets a go. Rylee ate them with no problem and didn't spit the pill out like i was expecting. she actually enjoyed it. all of my cats did! CON: the pockets were a little too big for my cats to eat SOLUTION: I cut the pocket in half and put the pill in one half of the pocket and rolled that half into a small ball so it was easier for my cats to eat. they will not eat anything too large and have a difficult time chewing these pockets because they are somewhat gummy. so, by cutting it in half and only using half of the pocket per pill it was easier for my girls to eat. it worked like a charm. they actually wanted to eat more of the pockets because they liked the taste so much and 2 of my girls dont normally care for most cat treats! i will keep buying these pockets forever. they saved me from being scratched and it cut the time in trying to give them their pills immensely. what used to sometimes take 10 minutes now only took 30 seconds. wonderful. i usually do not write reviews, but if you have stubborn or picky cats, try this. the best cat investment ever in my opinion.

These pill pockets make life so much easier! Saves a twice a day fight! It only takes a second to place the pills inside and pinch shut. My cat loves the treat! In 5 months he's only managed to get the pill out of the treat once but I think it was the end of the bag when the treats may become less moist. Be sure to seal the bag well after using to keep the treats as fresh and pliable as possible. I can fit about 2 small pills max into each treat.

What a time and stress saver! The first time I used these, the cats were smarter than me. They ate the pocket and spit out the pill. Or they chewed it and foamed at the mouth. I gave up. I have a cat that needs half a Benedryl regularly so after 7 years I tried again and I am so happy I did. How you use these is pretty crucial. It works best on cats that like food, not picky eaters. You give them a few empty "pockets" first. Then carefully cover the entire pill with the pocket, especially if the pill's not totally coated (like cut in half). Throw that to your kitty after the empties. Follow immediately with another empty pocket. When they get used to these treats, 3 will usually do: First: empty, second: carefully closed pill, third: "palette cleanser". Sounds silly, but that third chaser makes a big difference. It distracts them and helps get that pill taste out. For my Siamese, it keeps him from foaming at the mouth for an hour and that is worth an extra treat. Or three. I hope this review is helpful, even if your situation is a little different, we spent a lot of time with trial and error and I hope it helps someone else and their kitty.

I fully expected my cat to eat the stuff around the pill and leave the pill on the floor. However, she actually ate the whole thing! Made giving her pills a lot easier for both of us and saved a lot of stress. Some advice: 1) Follow the instructions on not touching the pill pocket with the hand that touched the medicine 2) Warm up the pill pocket once you add the medicine - I put it on the inside of my elbow and hold my arm closed for 30 seconds. 3) Try massaging the pocket a little once the pill is inside - it seems to bring out the flavor (possibly the outside has a coating, or dries out a litttle?) 4) Get Salmon and Chicken, our cat preferred the salmon, but after a while stopped eating it, then we switched to chicken and were good again.
