Price was right for what I needed them for and they worked great!
These are just plan old heat tempered steel so they really are only going to stay sharp if you use them on soft materials such as leather, wood, paper stock, poster-board, vinyl sheeting, very thin tin or aluminum etc. I used them on the Vinyl Carbon Fiber sheeting (sold here on amazon link below)I used them around the bolt holes so the vinyl was not under the bolt twisting wrinkles into my project and they worked perfect. A piece of pine or poster-board behind and you will get a great cut. The pouch they come in is a joke its made of thin plastic that cracks so keep that in mind your going to need tape or a new storage bag. Fast shipping, no packing in box so not good; they got loose in the box and were rattling around during shipping. Highly recommend requesting seller to bubble wrap and tape so you don't get any dull ones. I purchased from seller: KO Tool Supply http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0070Y36FK/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Works well, fantastic for price
For 5 dollars, it works magnificently. Punched a few holes in belts and then some random things because... Well because I had punches. Plenty sharp for leather belts. Choose your size wisely because once you punch a hole, it's hard to go one size bigger because the leather will just stretch (you'll have to go two sizes bigger). The punches are well-oiled for shipping, which I left on since I only plan to use them seldomly.

Works great! No issues with sharpness.
I was hesitant to use the set but it works fantastic for adding holes to the leather strap of a Kate Spade purse. The punch set was pretty sharp and required less than 5 minutes using a hammer to make 2 holes about 3-4 mm in depth. I used a magazine on a wooden table to make the holes and the punch set cut through the leather strap and the top page of the magazine! The price was reasonable especially when compared to other handheld punch sets. I definitely see this getting more use to make holes in leather belts as well.

SE 791LP Heavy-Duty 12-Piece Hollow Punch Set with Zipper Pouch
I received these punches and after noticing some rough edges, I took a small curved edged needle file and removed them on the cutout of the punches. each punch is sharp and the size they are supposed to be on the inside of the hole opening. I like them well enough and will use them on plastic and leather and some paper projects. For the money they are fine and will add to my tool collection. I give them four stars for now and if they perform better I will return to this review and up the stars to a 5. The pouch is sound and needed a marker to cover some writhing I didn't need to see.

Great.
Worked well for punching new holes in several belts. The smallest pubch needed a bit of sharpening. The secret for a good result is pucking the right surface. Too hard, and the punch will get dull. Too soft, and the leather us pushed into the wood. Oak worked very well.

Punches easily through leather and rubber!
I've been using these punches for a few months now mostly on 1/8" thick reinforced rubber and they go through effortlessly with 1 or 2 taps of the hammer.I originally didn't use a backing for them which resulted in some chipping on a few punches, but they still work just with a little more effort. The cut is clean and the design allows the material to be extracted through the top. I don't bother to clean them out, eventually the material comes out after a few punches and doesn't affect the use of the tool. I'm now using a poly board as my backing/base to punch on and will be ordering another set which I will take better care of. Great product!

Well worth the money
It’s been awhile since I bought this set, and so I can say that they have kept going. Originally they were pretty dull, and I sharpened them all on my little machine that’s made for sharpening chisels––made by Darex. All of the sharpening happens on the outside of the curved surface, and so it wasn’t all that hard to do, just a bit tidious and time consuming. But they’ve stayed sharp, the ones that I’ve used, and I’m so glad to have them in my little shop. The case is substantial, and I’ve had no trouble with it––all of the punches stay put in their loops.

Way Better Than The Pliers Style Leather Punch!
These are leaps and bounds better than the pliers style leather punches. I needed a solution to punch some holes in leather for making an axe sheath. I Originally purchased the Tekton pliers style punch on amazon and it ended up canting the head so it was not working well at all. it was creating sloppy holes not cutting all the way through. I then purchased these for the old school leather punch style. It worked way better for my purposes. The holes were nice and uniform and I was able to punch straight through multiple layers of leather with ease. I was a little skeptical at first due to the low cost, but after using them all my concerns were put to rest. If you're going to be doing any kind of leather work above occasionally adding a hole for a belt every few years, these are the style punches you need to get. Highly Recommended!

the pouch is a nice bonus. I honed the cutting edges to clean ...
these punches are worth the money you spend on them . the pouch is a nice bonus . I honed the cutting edges to clean them a little. the main thing when using them is the surface below what your punching , wood is not good because of the grain . soft and hard places that will not support what you are cutting. I use a plastic cutting board , an old one from the kitchen that we where going to toss. this gives an even resistant surface to cut on. I cut felt for loading shotgun shells and to make felt wads for my cap & ball pistols . using the cutting board makes cut smooth and easy. lone star

More holes in my belt!
My weight flux quite a bit and normally forced to twist my belt around (a few times) to keep tight fit. Decided to get this setup and punch an additional hole between the ones that come on the belt. Works perfectly. You have to pound a little while - holes are clean.
