I bought this with the Green Dragon Weed Torch and I'm glad I did. The basic weed torch has a needle valve that works well, but the flame is set on whatever you set it at all the time. If your burning weeds you generally want it at the highest level. This means that with the needle valve, it's going full blast the whole time. When you buy the Squeeze valve you have the ability to "fluctuate" the strength of the flame as you need it. This means as your walking from one part of your yard with no weeds to a part that needs weed control you let off the handle and it's at minimal flame. What does this mean? It means that your not wasting propane because it's not going "full blast" all the time. The box says it will pay itself off in a certain amount of time. (I can't remember what that time is). I agree with them. Overall it's a more manageable way to destroy your weeds with less cost. I couldn't imagine buying (any Dragon) torch without this device to control the flame throughout the process. I highly recommend this!

I got this at the same time I ordered a Red Dragon VT 2-23 weed dragon. I know the Red Dragon VT 2-23 is only $10 bucks more than this $45 squeeze valve, but . . . Just watch the reviews and these weed flame throwers all work pretty well, but can use a bunch of LP gas while your moving from weed area to weed area. This squeeze valve assembly allows you to adjust down the flame to a pilot flame and the pull the trigger and blast. After the first section I cleared, I learned that you don't need to burn the weed to oblivion. Scorch it well and it will die. Maybe if you hit it harder the heat will kill some of the root. Dunno. Seems to do a good job. You may be able to do without it, but at $25 bucks a tank for LP gas, it will pay for itself pretty quickly. By the way it is well made and easy to install on your burner. Follow the instructions. Make sure to use plumber tape on all connections and yes them all for leaks with soapy water before you light 'er up.

The 'V-880 PH-1' Squeeze Valve kit is WELL WORTH it's price! You light it and set the rotary (needle valve) to a small Pilot Flame then just open the Squeeze Valve as much as you need. I found this really nice to "singe" weeds and grass with a quick burst of flame, when near or against things you don't want to burn like wooden fences etc. Also having shorter arms, I appreciate the Squeeze Valves added length to the torch rod. No more stooping over. Last but not least, as with Flame Engineers Inc. other products, this item is manufactured in the USA!

I can't imagine not having this on my flame thrower. I use it a lot for burnt wood technique and also for weed burning. It's pretty awesome how I can dial the flame down to an idle and then go full afterburner with the lever.

Bought this along with the weed dragon. This valve does save fuel by not having a full flame on all the time. I was able to wilt the weeds and grasses in a 30x50 garden and still have fuel left over for a second round.

Must have for your weed torching needs. It will end up paying for itself in one summer or less depending on how much you use it. It basically controls your idle flow so that instead of having your flame full bore, you can have it set to a trickle and when you want the blast, just squeeze. And it makes it even more fun... Which is the reason we got one to begin with if we are truly being honest.

It works great. It's not ergonomic, so expect a bit of arm fatigue. The torch wand weighs a bit and you really need your thumb to both hold the wand and operate the trigger at the same time. It works best to just crack the valve enough to keep the flame alive. If you turn the gas up very much at all, there is an unacceptable lag when you release the trigger.

This will save you a a lot of propane and allows you much greater control when applying the flame. Works well and worth the money. Some assembly is required when attaching to the Dragon. I needed to use my vice for the final step. All parts required were present with excellent instructions included. You don't need Teflon tape (very inexpensive) but I suspect it makes in easier to make the four very tight fitting joints, gas tight. Took about ten minutes with the correct tools to assemble.

We haven't actually put this together yet. But I did want to share with everyone. The ups guy was super excited about my purchase. Said his buddy had one and it was awesome, so I'm going to take his word. It made it much funnier that he kinda sounded like Stevo and was scruffy like one of the guys from Jackass. Worth the purchase just from this experience. 😂

This accessory makes using the weed blaster flame thrower much easier to use and control as opposed to operating the unit without this valve.
