I plugged it in between the unbalanced audio inputs of my digital piano and the outputs of my audio interface and the the hum from my television going through the audio interface and into the digital piano disappeared.

I have a single coil pickup Strat copy running into a pedal tuner then four chained Behringer stomp boxes ending into a Dittop looper. I was getting a slight bit of a 60 Hz harmonic buzz. I set the ground lift on my direct box and used 6” patch cables without any resolve to the problem. I finally connected the BEHRINGER MICROHD HD400 after the looper and before the direct dox. I now have no detectable 60 Hz harmonic buzz even with my mixer input slider and sensitivity trim set at unity. The tone of the signal has not been altered by the BEHRINGER MICROHD HD400 My pedal set up in order: Guitar input to: Behringer TU300 Chromatic Tuner, BEHRINGER VINTAGE TUBE OVERDRIVE TO800, BEHRINGER DIGITAL MULTI-FX FX600, BEHRINGER DIGITAL DELAY DD400, BEHRINGER REVERB MACHINE RV600, TC Electronic DITTO X2 Looper, BEHRINGER MICROHD HD400 and the BEHRINGER ULTRA-G GI100 output to MIXER board. Everything is powered with separate BEHRINGER PSU-SB power supplies and a 9V battery eliminator for the BEHRINGER MICROHD HD400. The BEHRINGER MICROHD HD400 has been invaluable to the audio quality of my guitar rig.

I recently purchased a DAC and new studio monitors.I had a serious issue with ground loop in my apartment. I was getting pc mouse and hard drive interference coming through my brand new studio monitors. I needed to find a way to isolate what was causing this issue. I bought this device because I was looking for an expensive way to resolve my ground look issue and this fit the bill. I have tried a usb isolator but since my DAC draws alot of power there was nothing on the market the fit my scenario. I could have bought the humm eliminator but I elected to try a passive approach because I wanted a cheap solution and it works as advertised. Did not notice any drop db levels. You will need an extra set of 1/4 cables if you are going to use this device because it does not come with it. One Caveat about this product: I did notice because my place is near a roadway I would get the occasional buzz through the studio monitor but it is hardly noticeable because it rarely happens. a it only last for like a second or so. One suggestion I have for the manufacturer is to make this even smaller than it already is or partner with another manufacturer to integrate this into a single DAC device. How I diagnosed my issue. I took an extra power cable and cut the ground pin off (not the safest way but I know what I was doing because of my electronic background) since I didnt have a 2 prong adapter laying around. (I don't recommend using this a permanent solution because either or will hurt you or the equipment you use) I used this cable on 2 devices I suspected of causing the issue. ( my pc or studio monitors) When I used this cable on the pc the interference remained. When I plugged this cable into both studio monitors the interference disappeared.

The hum destroyer breaks ground loops by using a transformer to disconnect one side from the other. It's also capable of changing an unbalanced output (like on an ipod) to transformer balanced and isolated. It's a very good little box to have, I've bought several because I'm always thinking of ways to balance or unbalance and isolate line level signals, I detest hum. The HD400 provides two independent channels to be used however you want. That means two separate transformers inside, I can't buy one high quality transformer as a component for that price, much less a completely built box with two full channels. I am very impressed with the sound quality of this unit, it's very transparent. Regardless of the price, I'd buy several of these just in case the price goes up, it could easily sell for double and still be worth it.

I noticed a good amount of hum and noise floor when tracking my Yamaha P115 digital piano through my Universal Audio 4-710d, light piped to my UA Apollo Twin, into my MBP running Pro Tools 12. Noticed the same amount of hum and noise tracking my Novation Mini-Nova in the same chain. Tried grounding issue trouble shooting and eventually gave this box a try. Noise GONE!! Cut to this past weekend, tracking bass on a project and going from the bass direct into my Neve Portico 5017, taking the thru line into an Orange Crush 50 Bass amp for some gritty room tone. Again, loads of noise and hum. Reached for this fabulous lil 25 dollar box and boom. Gone. LOVE this thing so far. So cheap. So useful. Negative reviews on here are clearly from people who don't know what they're doing.

I have a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 paired with two JBL LSR305s that I use in my home studio. They've always hummed but not too bad. Then I moved my desk setup around and they started buzzing bad. BAD. Even worse when my PC was working hard. Read some advice online on how to fix it but all the "free" DIY solutions didn't work for me. Decided to pull the trigger on this thing and....wow. Not only did the buzzing disappear, the hum is gone, too! Definitely worth a shot if you're having issues. I should also note that I was using unbalanced 1/4" cables even though the Scarlett and LSRs can use balanced cables. That might have fixed the problem, too.

Short summary: If your PC output is giving a hum to your nice speakers, I recommend this Behringer unit. If you are using the hum destroyer unit and find the hum is gone but now your audio quality is junk (like a bad tunnel), look into getting a dedicated sound card and using that with the Behringer hum destroyer. The sound card I bought was more in my price range but there are other models and other companies that sell dedicated sound cards as well. Longer version: I got some nice monitor speakers and after hooking them up to the line out on the back of my PC found an annoying hum was coming through. There was no hum from my FLAC player, no hum from the Mac, and it didn't seem connected to a specific outlet in our home. I bought the Behringer unit and that hum disappeared from the PC. Super happy. A few weeks later my power supply died and took the pro-model motherboard with it and damaged the video card (which will need to get replaced later). We bought a decent consumer motherboard and new power supply, plugged everything in, and now the Behringer unit seemed to kill the audio quality as it sounds like I am traveling through a tunnel. Not using the Behringer unit and plugged the line out on motherboard direct into my nice speakers had that same hum as before I bought the hum destroyer unit (no surprise). Using PC speakers w/o Behringer was fine. After doing some research I found the issue was not with Behringer, but with the audio output on the motherboard, specifically AC'97. I bought the dedicated sound card Sound Blaster Z from Creative and with the Behringer hum destroyer now everything sounds beautiful. Lesson learned - if the hum destroyer seems to hurt the audio quality, it isn't the hum destroyer's problem it is the sound output mounted on the motherboard. Get a good dedicated audio card and the problem should disappear.

As soon as I plugged in my new USB audio interface, I had annoying ground hum/feedback problems. Who wants to hear crackling and ringing in what should be a quiet room if there's nothing coming out of the speakers? No matter what I tried to do to remedy it: Ebtek hum destroyer, switching USB ports, using a different surge protector just for my monitors, etc, NOTHING fixed the problem. This was my last resort ... and it worked flawlessly. My monitors still sound great with no loss of signal or clarity. A damn $25 box managed to cure my stress after weeks of tweaking every possible variable that I could figure out.

I bought this because I have a fairly complex audio setup for live streaming and gaming on PC and have been having an extremely annoying low electrical buzz that I hear through my headphone anytime I play a game. I have audio from my PC being routed through a mixer and have tried everything possible to pinpoint what has been causing the electrical buzz I hear, but have had no luck. I honestly wasn't expecting for this to solve the issue, so I didn't have my hopes set too high. Once I connected this unit to the audio coming into my mixer from the PC and launched a game, for the first time in almost a year I heard silence! Absolutely no electrical hum whatsoever. I do, however, feel like it lowered the sound output a tiny bit, but it's barely noticeable, and I didn't notice any quality loss in audio. This is something I would highly recommend! I wish I had purchased it sooner.

I bought two brand new JBL LSR305's and they were quite expensive. So it made my brain explode in disappointment when I discovered they were incredibly sensitive to noise. I have a HT Omega Claro Halo XT sound card and a R9 295X2 GPU right next to one another. The GPU was causing the distortion. When I'd load up Skyrim, I'd hear it so bad I couldn't play except on very low volume. Even at the lowest setting, the JBL's had unacceptable level of noise. At my desired volume, they were horrific. Solution? The Behringer MicroHD HD400 and a Hosa Cable CPP206 Dual 1/4 Inch To Dual 1/4 Inch Cable. The MOMENT I plugged it in, all distortion disappeared. Not only this, but my music sounds amazing now. I wasn't able to tell if the distortion was in the music. It was. My music is crystal clear now. My JBL's sound 100x better with music, games- everything. I guess I did notice it, I just couldn't tell until I experienced this clarity. Thank you Behringer!! My Setup (if you're interested): Two JBL LSR305's (these are huge, so most people wouldn't want them as PC speakers like me.) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HNKLN2Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This cord: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000068O17/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The Behringer MicroHD HD400: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KUD2G4/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0 This cord too: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000068O1E/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1
