Convenient and delicious
I am a vegetarian eating a high protein diet, and it's nice to have an option that isn't eggs or Greek yogurt for a big protein source. This tofu is delicious- I actually like it seasoned with just sea salt and a little olive oil, then baked. You can't do that with bad tofu- it will taste gross. This tofu makes great baked tofu, holds up in recipes, and is really convenient to keep around.

First of all I didn't know that these packages would be in smaller than the containers you usually see in grocery stores, but I love that they can be unrefrigerated until the container is opened! Its great because I don't have to take up my family fridge with 12 boxes when I can leave them underneath a stool in a pile. Second, I loveeee the texture of this tofu but still manages to stay firm enough to fry, bake and sear in the kitchen! It is a great dark meat feeling in your mouth instead of the chewy texture I've had with the extrafirm non silken tofu in stores. I got this 12 pack because I need tofu at least once a week and the one package wasn't enough so I wanted to buy in bulk and saw the good reviews and went with it, very cheap compared to buying all of those individually in the store do you see a difference! If you split it up it would be like $2 at most a container which is at least 2 servings in each box. Would recommend this to anyone and plan on buying more in the future, over halfway there!!

Cheaper than the store and to my door
This is an extra firm tofu, and still rather moist. If you are going to fry or otherwise rubble for a filler in a dish, press it out with absorbent materials and weight for a few hours first. Even when opening the package there will be extra moisture, and it varies how much will be released when you do.... Nice texture though and works up well in whatever dish I wish to make with it. I like that it doesn't need to be refrigerated before opening so it can go in the pantry, and it comes with a good shelf life. (Order February, the date is October, order March, date was November). Product does like to stick to the box so when decanting sometimes a lot stays stuck in the box and has to be scraped out. (Hence I prefer to rubble it instead of dicing into cubes)

best Tofu ever!
I have ordered this tofu two times. The first time I was skeptical to order tofu thru the mail, but was especially surprised when it came. It was fresh and exactly as it was advertised. So, after cooking with the last carton, I reordered it again. I live in a rather large town, but still, sometimes have a hard time finding tofu. And when I do, I wonder how fresh it is. I also like the fact that it requires no refrigeration until the carton is opened, which saves room in the refridge. I hope Amazon continues to have this tofu available. I use it in stir fries, and add it to my smoothies for healthy drinks. When I’m deciding what to cook I never have to wonder if I have enough protein in my diet when I reach for tofu. Thanks Amazon.

Arrived Perfect and Fresh!
This was my first experience with tofu and have to say I'm very happy I purchased it! Starting a plant based diet I You Tubed the heck out of what can you do with tofu and was ready to try. It worked great making tofu scramble and have even made tofu ice cream by adding 1 package of Mori-Nu Tofu, sugar (1/2 cup raw, but less would have been better), coco powder, a pinch of salt and some vanilla almond milk. Mixed in a high speed blender till smooth, taste to adjust if needed then poured in a container, popped it in the freezer and after about a hour or so took it out mixed it up and replaced back in the freezer. It will freeze somewhat hard but all you need to do is stir it up a bit and it is the creamiest "ice cream" you have ever tasted. This makes about a pint of "ice cream". A lot less expensive than store purchased non dairy/vegan ice cream and you can add any flavor or fruits to make what you like. Also the product I received had a expiration date that was 8 months to the good but I know it will be used well before that time lol.

Dry tofu before cooking
I am new to tofu (new vegetarian) so I was scared to cook with this but after you dry the tofu, it's easier to fry or bake or toss with salads. You need to slice the delicate tofu "brick" into rectangles, wrap each in a napkin or paper towel, place the wrapped pieces on a dry dish towel or hand towel side by side, then cover with same towel or another towel, place a cutting board over towel and stack plates or something weighty on top to "press" out all the extra water within the tofu (for about 30 min to an hour). Then you have ready tofu for baking or frying or whatever. I recommend them fried with a bit of olive oil on higher heat, covered, until slightly brown on one or both sides.

Nice, easy-to-use tofu
This tofu is so handy. I just keep it in the pantry and it's good for 5-6 months. Previously when buying the refrigerated tofu there were times my grocer was out of it or if I didn't get around to using it within a couple of weeks the date had expired. So I think this is a good solution. It is softer than the refrigerated extra firm but I also don't have to squeeze a lot of water out of it. I just wrap it in paper towels and gently press to get the water out so it's much easier in that regard, too. UPDATE: MAY 2019 I just purchased another box of this tofu and I truly dislike it. The grocery store was out of the Nasoya Extra Firm that I normally buy, so purchased this for recipes. It is soft and squishy and tastes like soft jello.

Nice product
I've been trying to supplement some of my meat based protein needs with tofu over the past couple of years. This is a pretty nice rate compared to the grocery store. However, I think the silken extra firm title is a bit deceptive. This tofu is in no way extra-firm, and thus is not recommended for frying. I add it in as more of a ground-meat supplement because it always instantly falls apart when touched. It's also very good for fruit smoothies, really thickening the mixture.

Great for longer storage life! Must Have!
I've been a vegetarian for 30 years and tofu is a main staple in my home. However, I have always purchased tofu in the stores. That tofu is firmer than this product and does holds together a bit better, but this Mori-nu brand tofu is outstanding in taste, smooth, and creamy consistency. I have had creamy textured tofu in many Asian restaurants and wondered where I could get tofu with that smooth, silky texture. Now I know. ... I love the fact that I can store as many in the pantry. It doesn't require refrigeration. It so convenient for me to have in hand for a healthy fix. You can cook so any ways. It absorbed any flavor you put on it. Flavorful once marinated to liking.

So let me preface this review by saying this is NOT the type of tofu I'm used to. The bricks you buy at the grocery in water? This isn't it! After opening it and being confused and running a google search, I've discovered I did not know near as much about tofu as I thought I did. While the "regular" tofu I'm used to is pressed and then cut into cubes and put into water, this tofu (silken) is poured directly into the package and ferments/solidifies right in there with no added water needed. You DO NOT press this tofu. It will mash and fall apart. Got it? Onward to the review! This stuff makes an AMAZING scramble! Just squeeze it directly into a hot pan (ceramic pan for the win!) Add garlic powder, onion powder, turmeric, sea salt and nutritional yeast. Keep chopping it up and moving it around with your spatula, adding whatever to taste. I add some cookes tvp and veggie of choice, awesome breakfast egg substitute! Want something sweet? Throw it im a blender with sweetener of choice, bananas, peanut butter or even chocolate! This stuff is so versatile! I love my pressed and marinated tofu stir fries, but this tofu is AWESOME! Love love love it! Reordered.
