Less recalls than the Kidde models did it for me. Buying First Alerts replacements for the house.
Finally replaced all the Kidde extinguishers we had. They were at the end of their life and, with the recalls around the Kidde plastic valves and head assembly, these just made sense. Roughly the same price for full metal construction? Okay by me. Have not had the chance to use these, hope I won't. But feel better about buying the First Alerts brand.

more thanadequate
The first alert can handle a medium fire more than a small kitchen extinquisher. my unit came fully charged and ready to go

Does It Provide Peace Of Mind? No, Call 911, This Doesn’t Make You A Firefighter
How do you rate a fire extinguisher without using it in a fire? Well I wasn’t about to start one just for the purpose of a review, so that doesn’t leave much to go on. The price was wright. It’s not too heavy and seems easy to handle. The directions were clearly written and easily understood. And, of course the color is a bright red. Now, does it work? Hopefully I will never know.

Good to go
What can you say, I have not had a fire, so we hope we are ready. I can say I would like to have a company I know about

It's what it says...
We got these for a discount because they were having a sale...Was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It's a very solid, standard home fire extinguisher. What more can you ask for?

I hope I never find out if it works
How can you write a review for a fire extinguisher until you've had a fire and see that it will put it out?

Good extinguisher for the price
Good extinguisher for the price. I've used one to put out a fire and it did its job, and was easy to refill locally.

Fire it worked
Item is not 5lbs but 9.4lbs that's without box. I have arthritis. First alert is a good company and 1 fire extinguisher I had for 5 years I had to use in my kitchen when my wife likes to clean the stove and accidentally hit the bake button and there was paper in the broiler that caught fire and I was lucky the estinguisher put the fire out

Cheap and good
I had to get this for my house due to adoption agency needs. It was the best for the price, then I just got it inspected for cheap at a local shop in town. I like that it came with a hook as well made installing it easy. Do use hook anchors by the way.
