Pros: Rugged, durable. These batteries are designed to take a beating. They can also be mounted in different positions and don't leak. That gives you a lot of options if you have a custom application. Shipping was fast (and free with Prime). Normally shipping fora heavy item like this would be cost-prohibitive, but Amazon made it affordable. Cons: Heavy? All batteries are heavy. Expensive? No one wants to pay two C-notes for a battery, but these are worth it. Bottom line: why haven't you added this to your cart yet?

Works great in my wifes ford expedition. 75.00 cheaper then the local parts store. This is my 4th optima battery purchase though amazon and its always gone smooth. The box looks a little beat up for sure, but I'm not paying good money for a box but the battery inside of it. They have always been in solid condition and last a lot longer in the Las Vegas Heat then any other battery I have tried. They are in all of my cars now.

2nd one, first one lasted 2yrs 10 months in the Phoenix AZ heat. Amazon came through on the full 3 year warranty and replaced it no questions asked. Hint, if it fails before the 3 years is up, you have to deal directly with Amazon and not Optima.

Recommended by a friend with 10+ years service on his. When I was quoted $150 for standard battery that would surely die within 6 years, had to give this a try. I installed this only 2 months ago in my '68 Goat. No float/maintenance charge and only crank it up every 2 weeks or so. An internal carburetor leak results in no fuel in the carb after 3 days; therefore, requiring about 15 seconds of cranking (and lots of pedal pushes) to start up, yet battery remains strong throughout.

put it in my 2003 jeep wrangler 4.0 turns over so fast. the handle is nice for installing as well. will definitely get again in another 8 years or so

These Batteries are Fantastic, My truck starts super fast. I switched from Super Start Batteries in my 07 F250 and won't buy anything but Optimas from now on. It was a tight fit on the Drivers side since I chose to keep the plastic cover the battery posts were what made the cover fit snug. Other than that the adaptors that came with them worked perfect. Update- I have owned these batteries for about 3 months now and have put roughly 4000 miles on them with close to 250 starts off of them. They are working great still even though my short commutes daily hardly seem like enough time to recharge after the energy it takes to Crank the ole 6.0 power stroke. These batteries do charge a lot faster than the old batteries I had from the local parts store. I will try to keep updating this review if after 12 months or so anything changes. I am incredibly happy that I spent the extra money and bought these over the competitor.

This is my second RedTop and it will not be my last. Sure, a battery isn't all that exciting, or at least it isn't until you forget your lights on during a football game. When you return hours later to find that a car that still cranks, that's when you realize just how good of a purchase you made. The first Optima RedTop went into my wife's Nissan Altima after her stock battery bit the dust. She took her car into the dealership for an oilchange a couple of weeks after I put it in. The head mechanic came out to meet her in the office when she went to pick up her car. I guess he had never ran into a RedTop, or at least a new one, before because he went on and on about it. He said that it was registering off the charts on their testing equipment. He even said that he would be buying RedTops for all of his vehicles from now on. This RedTop went into my old beater 00 Ford Ranger. I only use the truck when I need to haul something so it doesn't gets cranked up much. Dead batteries were pretty common before but I dropped the RedTop in it. I haven't had to jump it once (6+ mo of ownership) even though I've used the truck less and it's cold. I'm truly impressed with this battery and can not recommend it enough. It's cheaper on Amazon than any of the local auto shops, even with their gimmicky coupons or promos. This model came with a bunch of adapters to help with the fit. While I didn't need them, I appreciated the forethought.

I only use Optima batteries in my vehicles. The last one in my truck lasted 8 years, and that is in a high desert heat environment; and it did not quit, it just started to crank the engine a little slow, so I got a new battery – still have the old one as a back-up. No liquid acid to leak, spill, or evaporate – truly maintenance free (except you my want to use a charger if you do not use the vehicle much, but this gel-type battery is very good at holding a charge for long periods of time). If you are going to use a battery charger with this battery make sure the charger is rated for this type of battery – gel type, for example the Battery Tender 021-0128 Battery Tender Plus 12V Battery Charger works perfectly with this battery.

Put this in Subaru Forester. Fit fine with slight plastic under pan adjustment due to longer length. I did buy an oversize battery so don't consider that a down check. Came almost fully charged which I topped off with a Battery Tender charger. Has worked flawlessly for a couple of months. I know some people seem to have a problem with these, but mine is fine. Now if it lasts for many years, I will be pleased. Car starts quickly every time. Compared to local auto stores this price was 2/3. Make sure you are aware of the Amazon on line warranty support. You cannot take this to a local auto store if there is a problem.

I was advised to get this brand and they were right. The winters up here are harsh and the cold had my battery feeling the pain of a weak start. Once this beastie was installed, easy job, the vehicle leaps to each morning in a single crank. As to installation. Use the instructions. They outline which of the plethora of adapter plates are required for the particular vehicle. Once done correctly, the battery is housed tight and secure. This technology is safer and more powerful. Batteries do not last for eternity and at roughly 60 bucks a year for this in its expected lifetime is security well worth the cost.
