Seems great, fit great, starts fine....

Had a red top outlasted three rigs still kickin after 10yrs, so I bought this... Hope its half as good as its red cousin, though I heard they have moved to Mexico since the last time I purchased the quality seems as good if not better since it came with a step to fit my wife's Camry... Time will tell and I wouldn't be surprised if it outlasted the red due to yellows having more weight... We will see.

Dont believe the other negative reviews, order one of these top notch Optima batteries.

I was skeptical about ordering a optima battery thru amazon because of the previous negative reviews. But I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I saved over $100 by purchasing my yellowtop thru amazon and the battery has a production date sticker less than 1 month old. The battery is super fresh and shipping with Amazon prime is always super fast. I couldn't be happier with the product and my experience. Thanks Amazon, once again for saving me lots of money.

2001 Porsche Carrera 911 (996) battery

Confirmed fit in 2001 Porsche 911 (996) 3.4L Coupe. This battery is the best battery you will get for your Porsche. Typically I get about 7 years out of the yellow top and most of us don't daily our 911s so a deep cycle battery like this one won't let you down. Deep cycle batteries are tough and Optima gel cell batteries resist vibration, which is the primary killer of a battery. My 996 tends to sip down electricity just sitting. Repeated draining of the battery will kill a standard battery , even a red top Optima... which are trash (IMO) but the yellow won't suffer nearly as bad as a standard battery. Car cranks nice and strong every time even if she sits for a week or two. Pro Tip - Mounting : This battery is NOT a direct fit to the battery box. Optima doesn't make a direct fit replacement battery for a Porsche 996 at the time of this post. A custom spacer is needed to lock down the battery so it doesn't move. Some people use a high density plastic, like a thick cutting board to fashion one. I used a 12mm or 13mm combo wrench as a spacer. It was the perfect size, shape and had the rigidity to do the job. I was able to really crank it down and the wrench had enough tension to act like a strong spring on the hold down tabs of the battery. This might sound like a "backyard fix". It works, and works great. I have had the battery in the Porsche for a year and 6,000 mi now. It has withstanded a lot of spirited driving , jars and bumps and still it's solid. Battery terminals are in the correct orientation and the Factory Porsche Battery cables are plenty long enough to reach.

I was very happy that I was able to purchase an optima battery off of Amazon. I purchased the yellow top battery for my race car as they are made for the jostling around more than your standard battery. I had nothing but issues running a standard battery in the race car and would always end up having to replace the battery at least once sometimes twice a year. Ever since putting this battery in the car I've had no issues whatsoever. Amazon is also the cheapest place I could find the optima batteries anywhere on line or even in any of the closest auto stores, so that's also a bonus!

Keep the top cover for height adjustment!

Hi Folks! It was urgent I write this review, especially for any of my fellow customers who drive a Nissan Rogue (my particular car is year 2009) The battery comes with a cover which has dual functionality; it also serves as the height adjustment tray/stand! so please DO NOT DISCARD of this cover you will find once you unpack the battery. I did not realize this initially and i'm sure other reviewers have noted this, but since I did not read the other reviews, I wanted to point it out as well. My wife who's a genius, pointed it out to me after I was having a difficult time getting the battery terminals to fit. Luckily I try not to be hasty or impatient (most of the time haha) and decided not to force something that would not fit. Once we figured that part out, the install was super easy and this battery is actually slightly lighter than the stock battery my car came with. The car started amazingly fast, faster than before, there was no cranking noise of the engine or anything like that. It's only been one day so far, but i'll try to update this review after winter.

1-23-2011b, Yellow Top D35. Hi there, Summary: The price was good, it arrived without any shipping damage, so far the battery works fine. D35 Battery, $167, $194 after shipping. It took Amazon more than 2 days, UPS 3 days, for a 5 day total to ship to me. This (Amazon time) should be shorter... Background: I'm a HAM Radio operator, and my radios dont like Voltages less than 11.7V (They claim). I have a FT-857d, and and after talking on the radio for about 2-3 minutes, my cars battery battery was running at 12V, and in less than 5 minutes it was at or below 11.7V. This was on my 2-3/4 year old Autolite Platinum (RC=100) battery. It started my car fine, but its Voltage sagged under a 20 Amp load. And I was tired of the effects of battery acid leaking. So I decided to change to a AGM type battery, because it was more designed for how I was using the cars battery. And, it dose not leak or out gas acid... So far the Yellow top battery is holding up much better, than my 2 year old (flooded cell) battery was. One reason I choose this battery is it claimed its charged open circuit Voltage was (fully charged) 13.1V instead of the more common 12.65V. However, I'm seeing more like 12.9V, and 12.65V once its lightly loaded (used)... Bottom line: The price was right, took longer than I expected to ship to me, seems too work good so far... PS. It arrive at 12.6V that about 80-90% charged... PPS. It would be nice if they made a D34R (R = reversed positive/negative connections) its like a BCI-35) Yellow or Blue top battery... B

Great Battery for compition stereo systems

I have a pretty large stereo system. The regular car battery left me stranded on several occasions. Honda Accord 2015 got a new battery from them same problem. The lights would dim when I played my music. Bought this optima battery and the lights don’t dim any more also the headlights are brighter. I checked to see how much power it was putting out 13.5 compared to 11.2 or 12.2 from the regular battery. Car was off over night temperatures in the 20 ‘s in CT, the meter was reading at 13.0 haven’t had to jump my car since I put the battery in and it performs out of this world.

Good price for great battery

Ordered Optima 8040-218 D35 from Amazon and It arrived quickly, was well packed and undamaged. The battery is brand new (as advertised) and included the Optima brand optional spacer (if your OEM battery is taller than the Optima just clip the optional spacer to the bottom and it is the exact same height as the taller OEM battery). I am glad the spacer was included because my car required a taller battery. I hooked up the battery to the car and it works as expected. So far I am 100% satisfied. I expect the battery to work well for a long time since I bought an Optima yellow top battery for another car years ago and have never had a problem with it. Bottom line, the battery is brand new, and arrived quickly and in perfect condition for a great price. I was very happy with my packaging. After I did all the research on this Optima D35 for about a month, I must say, that it was a damn fine purchase. Note to all buyers: DO NOT THROW AWAY the yellow rectangle piece at the top of the package. It is an extender, and as some older batteries are large in size, the Optima is small. Set the Optima on top of it, clip it in place, and place it next to the old battery. Now it should be the same height. This piece helps it fit back into your car just right. For the record, I had my mechanic friend check the actual CCA's (Cold Cranking Amps) on the Optima sent to me. It's rated at 620 CCA's, but the true CCA's measured at 899 ! ! ! A+ Reliable Seller/Distributor ! ! !

Stands out from the pack.

Over the past 10 years these have been consistently better performing than others. Stores will push competing AGM batteries with better warranties... but who cares of such warranty if the battery still leaves you stranded? I want my battery NOT to die rather than dying and getting replaced after being stranded. I have put these red, blue, and yellow tops through a lot on various cars / boats and they've consistently lasted 3 years. *ALL other car batteries are made by the same 3 manufacturers, except Optima. Every single different shape, color, and marketing gimmick from sears to batteries plus - all those come from the same three manufacturers except optima who its own independent manufacturer.
