I got this for my 13month old to start introducing animal names and pictures of them. She is now 15months old and still loves them. She always plays with these while I am cooking in the kitchen. She loves to take them off and put them back on again. She is learning to say more words and tries to say the animal name. This product is great for toddlers it keeps them busy. It comes in a wooden box as advertised but there is no solid lid just a somewhat hard plastic that goes on top.It comes with 20 animals. Some are too small for my 15month old so I put it on the freezer part of the fridge until she is old enough to play with it, or if I am supervising her.The bottom of the box has the name of each animal too so they can have a visual of the word . My daughter also likes to stick these on the black dry erase calendar board we have at home. It has a nice strong stick to the fridge too not like some cheap ones out there and they end up sliding. You don't have to worry about that with these. They are good quality pretty durable for your toddler to play with. She enjoys playing with these and learning the names.

I bought this set for my 2.5yrs old who likes to play in kitchen when I am cooking there, sometimes he disturbs me a lot and I end up with a not so tasty meal... Or too much messy in my kitchen. I have brought these magnets hoping that they are educational and fun at the same time. Most importantly I have choose these magnets only because the pictures are very near to reality, good size and high quality magnets. I also bought alphabets and numbers magnets, we place them all on the fridge, my smart kiddo likes to place the matching animal with the alphabet like I mean. C for Cat, he places C by Cat. Very educational and entertainment. For me, I am enjoying cooking now while playing and educating my son all at the same time and with loads of fun.

Great magnet set for my little one. Purchased when he started playing with all the magnets on the fridge at 12 months old but i wanted safer magnets so bought these. We have them low on the fridge and i place him daily on the floor to play with these. The designs are not going to win any creativity or artistic awards but they are interesting to my son, easy to remove off the fridge and back on again, and i don't see any peeling of the stickers as yet (and he puts them in his mouth all the time). Overall a successful product. Would like to see some greater effort put into the images. Also- i wish melissa and doug would provide a wooden cover top for their awesome boxes so i could store these when not in use. Seems silly to just have a box without a top.

I am always happy with the kids toys and learning products I buy from Melissa and Doug. These little magnets are the perfect size for small hands without being hazardous and they stick securely to the fridge and chalkboard without being too difficult for my 18 month old son to pull off and rearrange. They are nice and colorful, include a great variety of familiar animals and seem to be very good quality. For the price point, I would definitely recommend this set. I think we will get lots of use out of these and I can tell my son really loves playing with them everyday so far.

My 15 month old twins love these magnets! I keep them on the lower half of the fridge and they are so helpful for keeping the kids busy while I prepare meals. There is a great assortment of animals and I like that there is a barn, fence and a tractor so later they can act out stories with them. These magnets have just the right amount of strength. They are not too difficult for the kids to pull off of the fridge but they also don't just randomly drop off if you close the door hard or something. It also seems that the binding of the picture to the magnet is done very well because they show no signs of wear even though I have cleaned them (with a damp cloth) a few times and my kids have chewed on them.

Good quality wooden magnets. My 14 mo old daughter plays with them daily, and we used them to (very effectively) teach her animal names and sounds. She chews on them all the time, and they've held up decently well. After 2 months of playing, the edges get a little white where she chews them, but it's fine. The only real disappointment we had was the elephant - she managed to peel off the magnet from the wood (with very little effort). We caught it in time, but I would think they'd use a stronger glue. FYI there are a couple small magnets in there that are choking hazard-size - but we just took them out before giving them to her. Still worth it.

These magnets are so cute. I put them at the base of our fridge and my daughter sits in the floor and plays with them while I cook. She loves them. The colors and images are cute. They're very sturdy and have withstood some teething and lots of drool. Just be careful because if they get really wet from drool the paper images start to peel a little. I just keep an eye on her and remove them to dry if she gets to enthusiastic about tasting them. Haha. She loves them though and they keep her occupied. The packaging is extremely nice as well. The little bin is nice for storage later. I'd recommend!

My 14 month old baby has had hours of fun rearranging these magnets on the fridge. They stick well, but most of them are easy enough for a baby to pull off. I've noticed some of the larger animals are a little harder to get off. I don't know what the recommended age limit for this toy is, but there are some rather small animals that a baby could put in their mouth if they try hard enough. You get a lot of magnets for the money!

This was a solid purchase. As a grandma living close enough to see my grandson fairly often, I want to have some toys at the ready, but at the same time, I don't want to devote a great deal of space. On top of those concerns, I also want something that is easy for my grandson, a toddler, to reach without also being in a place the puppy--who lives here--to run off with and destroy. I was told the lad likes fridge magnets, and so the only question left was what kind to get. There are a ton of alphabet magnets for sale, but as a teacher (retired) I know that just having those letters slapped on the fridge will not make one tiny bit of difference in how soon he starts to read. He's just over a year old. Those letters will mean nothing, and they will be no fun. We have a ton of children's books that he loves; the letters can wait. The funny thing about these magnets is that they form a sort of odd combination of farm, jungle, and forest animals...oh, and the desert and plains as well. But as he gets older, that will make them more enjoyable for sorting, and for making up stories with them. The best thing about these magnets--apart from the fact that the art is reasonably accurate--is that they are sturdy and the magnets on the back are as large as the front, so they are easy for him to lift off and stick back on without having to tilt or aim them a certain way, and so...Sammy loves them.

We got these for my baby as a gift.. she's a busy 1 year old and we did give them to her despite the fact that there is an age limit on the box...she loves them. We have taken away the smaller animals from her so she doesn't try to chew or choke on them but she constantly is going to the fridge to talk to the animals and carry the zebra and giraffe around. She even is figuring out what else they can stick too. The magnet covers the entire back of the animal and the colors are bright and nice. Great quality and the sizes range from small (2 quarters side by side) to large (size of your palm). Great diversity in animal too. I have a feeling I'll be seeing these on my fridge for years to come!
