Must Have Brushes
I am on my 3rd Drinkwell Original Pet Fountain with them lasting about 3 years before the motor quits working due to being clogged. I have ineffectively cleaned the pet fountains for years with regular sponges or a cycle through the dish washer minus the pump. Bought these brushes on a whim as an up sale to another pet product. Used the brushes immediately when arrived...kept me from having to buy a new entire pet fountain. I found the large brush with the sponge tip worked great in the larger compartment with the filter removed to get the slime out of the corners and around the pump compartment. The medium brush was perfect for the long tube. Little one worked great on cleaning the pump itself.

PSA: NO MORE DIRTY PUMPS!
I have had a pet fountain for ages. I preference is for Pioneer Pet brand, as they offer ceramic bowls (which more do now). I actually thought I was doing a great job cleaning our fountain pumps, which I do a couple times a week (as often as I change the fountain out for a clean one) but it was NOT ENOUGH! No matter what type of fountain you use, you NEED THIS cleaning set. Specifically, the littlest brush, as you can put it in where the impeller goes and it gets anything out of there that you weren't able to get out. I found (and I'm grimacing) yucky black gross stuff in mine!! I was so disappointed and sad that, despite what I thought was diligent and regular cleaning of the pumps, i was using dirty pumps to water my animals! Never again.

it was DISGUSTING. My cats hadn't been drinking from the fountain ...
If you have a pet fountain and never opened the motor to clean it out... DO IT NOW! I had my petmate filter for 2 years and never thought to clean the motor.. it never occurred to me (I know, should of read the manual..) when I opened it up... it was DISGUSTING. My cats hadn't been drinking from the fountain for a while, only the water bowl I had next to it. So I got these brushes and cleaned it out including taking the motor apart like the packaging on the brushes suggests. Almost INSTANTLY the cats were back to preferring the fountain. Now I do tho Definitely recommend.

Great Value Time Saver
I wish I had thought of looking for something like this long ago. We have a Petmate water fountain for our cat which needs to be thoroughly cleaned every week or two. I have always had a hard time cleaning in some of the creases, kinks or tiny spouts. This cleaning kit has simplified my life and cut the time it takes to properly clean the fountain by at least half. It isn't the highest quality construction, but the bristles are strong enough to get everything cleaned well and having a selection of sizes means that it is quick work now. The rods tend to bend a bit easier than I would like. I am still giving it 5 stars because of the value and convenience it provides.

must-have for pet water fountains
I've had a Catit brand water fountain for my cats for a couple years now. Recently the pump starting making a horrible grinding/rattling noise. I was on Amazon looking for a replacement pump and this brush kit showed up in the search. I figured I'd give them a try, since they were certainly cheaper than a new pump or a whole new fountain. It has a diagram and cleaning directions on the back of the packaging. It says it's for PetSafe brand pumps, but the one in my Catit was identical. I didn't even know you could pull it apart for better cleaning, I had always simply wiped the outside with a soapy sponge. It was very easy to get open and then clean with the smallest brush. The nasty gunk that came out of it-- I'm surprised the cats were even willing to still drink out of it, poor guys. I put it back together and refilled the water and plugged it back in-- back to the nice, whisper quiet of the original pump! I cannot recommend these brushes any higher, they are simply the best.

Finally I gave in and ordered the drinkwell brand cleaning brushes and I’m not disappointed. I feel I was able to get the ...
I was hesistsnt to spend the money on this, I have a drinkwell Original (in limited edition pink!) and used a recycled toothbrush to clean it weekly, but it simply didn’t fit in all the nooks & crannies. I even purchased a baby bottle cleaning brush but it was way too big to work. Finally I gave in and ordered the drinkwell brand cleaning brushes and I’m not disappointed. I feel I was able to get the fountain cleaner than it’s been before, so I am happy with my purchases. The 3 brushes the set included were bigger than I expected, I found the tiniest tool in the set to be the most useful.

Don't kid yourself
Don't kid yourself and think that you can get away with not getting these. Doesn't matter if you have child-size hands, or the smalles fingers in the history of the universe, you will never be able to properly wash the crud of some openings in your pet fountain or the pump. I learned this the hard way, after wondering why my cats water was getting murky only a few days after "washing" his fountain. I discovered that the main line that took the water from the dish to the top and pushed it through the filter was full of slimy buildup. My only regret is that I didn't get these sooner because I know that if I get a new fountain of any kind, these brushes will be useful. Just buy these, really.

Welcome to the modern age, cleaning simplified
We've had the Drinkwell Pagoda Pet Fountain, 1 of the fountains this brush set was designed for, for 7 years & had No idea that these existed. The brushes are designed for each of the mountain's parts & clean perfectly. When I was done, the fountain looked brand new. I thought I was doing a good job of manually scrubbing the foundation before, but turns out that I'd have been getting a C+ at best. Now I get an A+. I highly recommend the brush set.

Works well with Pagoda
I have the Pagoda fountain for my cats, as filtered, running water was recommended by the vet in order to get them to drink more water. And they love it! Porcelain is the way to go, for sure, but you really do need to be prepared to take the fountain apart, including the motor parts, and clean thoroughly. Water can make things gunky pretty quickly, and gunk will affect the flavor and quality of the water your pets drink. Take the fountain apart every second or third day, soak the motor and parts in a bit of warm soapy water with a dash of acid from vinegar or lemon juice, and scrub with these little brushes. Easy to keep the fountain clean and fresh with this kit.
