Exactly what it is supposed to be
Exactly what it is supposed to be. This product is walnut shell media embedded with jewelers rouge (iron oxide). It shines brass cartridge cases to a brilliant shine. A lot of reviews complain about the dust and residue. Used dryer sheets can be added to the tumbler bowl to catch dust and residue (which is toxic if you are tumbling fired ammo brass). Paper towels can be used too. I use the dryer sheets whole so there are less pieces to dispose of. Another tip: mix this product with your untreated corn cob and walnut media. It makes them work much better! Leave the residue in the bowl for the next run. You paid for that red residue - it is the unique ingredient! I have several bowls for my vibratory tumbler, so I always have a clean one. You do not need to buy this product often. In fact I recommend that you mix it with untreated media which will then last several tumbling cycles before you need a new batch.

Buy the Tub!
This is the best case cleaning polishing media on the market. I bought the 3 pound jar with the pop open screw on lid. Amazing amazon order puller put in it a great big box, lose, eh? So it un-screwed and popped in the USPS truck. Did not hurt the media. I saved nearly all of it and am using in right now to clean some brass. Next time I will buy the tub, eh?

A must have for reloading ammo!
After letting my brass tumble for 3 hours it was ready to prep without getting my reloading dies dirty. After the second tumble with the Lyman Walnut media my brass looked liked brand new and the primer pockets were clean and all the case lube was gone. I am going to order a larger container on my next order to make sure I have this on hand at all times. Great product!

Much better than corn cob media!
I am relatively new to reloading and ordered corn cob media to clean my cases. No matter how long I kept the cases in the corn cob it never seemed to get really clean. I read on some forums guys using walnut media having some good results so I gave it a try. The difference between the two media is incredible. The one thing I don't like is that the walnut media leaves a rust colored dust on the cases. I'm going to try some dryer sheets in there to see if that doesn't pull the dust out a bit. Other than this slight flaw I think this stuff is great.

Works Wonderfully!
Started processing some fairly dirty brass on a budget. Picked up a Harbor Freight Dual Drum Tumbler and this media. Load it up, let it run for 4-6 hours and the cases come out nice and clean. Processed about 500 cases with just 12 ounces (by volume) of the media. Great results and great value.

Perfect for tumble-polishing clarinet keys and other small parts
Works great for polishing clarinet keys. It gets all the way into tight corners that are very tedious to buff. A little of it gets stuck in the hinge tubes, but pushes out easily. Tumbling with this stuff is a great timesaver for small parts that need a good polish.

Change the image!
I wish Amazon change the picture - this is three pounds of Tuffnut, not three different products! Causes some unwanted confusion. OK, the review... What I got was a cardboard box with three pounds of Tuffnut in it, not a plastic jug. So no big deal there. What makes this product different from other media is that it has jeweler's rouge added to it which really puts the shine to the cartridges. that's why people complain about the dust, they tumble without a cover so all that rouge goes into the air. My tumbler has a cover so no problem. I will purchase this again.

Just as good as ever!
I love the Tufnut for my tumbler. It does a very good job of cleaning my brass and will always come back to using this.

What can I say? It is what they said ...
What can I say? It is what they said it was. Tufnut is my go to tumbling media for reloading. A couple hours working in my Hornady tumbler and my brass is shiny clean and ready to go through the dies.

This media will do a good job on the primer pockets
I jusr add brasso, let it dry for a week, mix it in, and it is fully ready to go.This media will do a good job on the primer pockets. There are three methods available today, and in my overall experience, this seems to be the best and quickest way to clean the brass.
