Hold up better than expected
This is our second purchase of this mailbox. The first one was still doing great at almost 3 years old, even though it'd been struck with a baseball bat by vandals on several occasions. I expected the plastic to just shatter from being whacked, but it never did. It's sturdier than it looks. The mounting hardware on the Gibraltar Drive-In Post is what got bent out of shape due to vandalism, not the mailbox itself. Also, this mailbox's color never faded despite its exposure to the weather. We decided it was time to replace the post and also replaced the mailbox, going with this same black plastic mailbox again. It was about $9 when we ordered it, and we're quite happy with it, especially considering the price.

Great quality for the money!
I didnt expect it to be as big as it was but the quality is great! I bought it for my sons treehouse and he loves it! I'm a real person and did NOT receive this item at a discount in lieu of a positive review. By clicking "helpful" at the bottom of this review, it will help move "real" reviews to the top. Thanks in advance.

Bigger Than Expected, and Nice!
We wanted an additional mailbox as a fun accessory (for names) to the homemade doghouse (complete with heat, and air conditioning) for our larger dogs that spend their time running around outside (they have a penned in portion of our property . . . we do not believe in chaining up animals), so something inexpensive was a priority. We were surprised what under $11 got us. It IS plastic, so it probably wouldn't work well as a REAL mailbox down in the south during the summer because the door MIGHT warp with use, but as a decoration it has held up this first summer!

This is a fine Mailbox. Now 5 years old and still doing great!
This product is pretty much exactly as described. Fully assembled and ready to install. It arrived promptly in good condition. The plastic is not super heavy duty but sufficient for the job. The door opens, closes and stays shut well and the flag goes up, stays up when needed and goes down easily. It fits onto the standard support with 4 small nuts and bolts (not included). The mail box is slightly larger in the front and tapers towards the back which you cannot tell from the picture and may be why it received a low rating from those who were looking for an older model. Since my old mailbox was broken I was just looking for a replacement that would fit on the old stand and I am very happy with the product.

This is nice, surprisingly sturdy for its lightweight
Since the mailbox gets mown down at least twice a winter (in a PO approved array and can't be moved), who needs to spend gobs of money on a mailbox? This is nice, surprisingly sturdy for its lightweight, and quite attractive.

They seem to hold up just fine. We also painted ours and it holds acrylic ...
This was the cheapest mailbox I could find. After hurricane Irma, half of my street now owns the exact same one. They seem to hold up just fine. We also painted ours and it holds acrylic paints well. Great value mailbox if you just need a place to put mail. No frills and works well. The door seems to be water resistant and latches securely enough that our mail has not gotten wet yet.

Good mailbox for a great price
The mailbox was delivered very timely. So far it seems sturdy enough, and attaching it to my mailbox was a snap. I was done within 5 minutes. When you install it make sure you have enough space for the door to open by extending out the mailbox an inch or two over the 4x4" wood mail post extender. I did not receive any screws with the package. No big deal. I had 4 outdoor wood screws that did the trick. The size of the mailbox is large enough for the mail carrier to stuff all the letters and magazines I get plus a hardcover book that I just received. So size-wise the mailbox is what I needed. The plastic box should last a long time. The only concern of mine is how long the red plastic flag will last. The flag broke off on the plastic mailbox I just replaced, but it was from a different vendor. I hope this flag lasts a lot longer. Otherwise, I am very happy with the purchase.

Nice Change
This mailbox replaced some beat up 1980s mailbox and this is a welcomed change. Made of plastic, this mailbox feels extremely durable. White color gives the house a more modern and clean look i like. Never have to worry about cutting my arm or hand on a shard of metal like the last mailbox.

They boune back.
I live on busy road. The snow plows over the years keep knocking them off. Metal ones just dent in after one hit even if not knocked off. These take several hits. If knocked off I can usually put them back up. I once found one 100 yards down the road and was able to put it back up. When they will tear off the door and it has to be replace but not often. If they last 3 years they start to look dirty and cannot be washed. Still lasts much longer than the metal ones. I have never had a metal one last threw the winter. These are often found in the big box stores but only in black. They will order the white ones but often charge more for white and take longer to receive. I like white because it makes it easier to spot the drive way most of the time.

Works great and is affordable.
This mailbox is a great price and it's sturdy. It is mid-level (if there is such a thing) for the plastic material. The one odd thing about this box is that you have to push the door more than a normal box to get it to lock shut-my mail person has not figured this out. It's not abnormally hard at all. I would recommend this product and buy it again.
