Healthy, Affordable, and Safe. My 2 dogs LOVE it.

Note: I normally get the beef flavor, which is typically about $5 cheaper per bag, but occasionally I throw this flavori in to mix is up and keep my dogs excited. I have 2 dogs (70 and 50lbs). The older has a corn allergy, so choosing food was a little tougher. We started with Taste of the Wild, but it was really expensive and my dog seemed to be getting a little fat.. (okay, a lot fat). We switched to Diamond Naturals a couple years ago and he LOVES it. Because it's healthier than the regular dog foods, I give it to my other non-allergy dog as well, and she loves it too. The food doesn't leave their breath smelling bad at all, it's healthy with very few fillers, and both dogs coats look healthy and shiny. I used to work for the FDA and made sure to pick out a food that was going to be good for my dogs. Recently, I noticed the packaging material changed from a paper-type bag to plastic. The shape and color of the food pellets also changed. The price stayed the same. At first, this was concerning because there was nothing online about a recipe change. I continued to feed it to my dogs with the same results. I see how this could throw some people off, but it wasn't a big deal, and my dogs still love it. Lastly, you'll notice the price fluctuates on amazon. I almost always buy the 40lb bag at $32 shipped. Sometimes you'll see it go up to upper $40s to low $50s - wait before buying when that's the available price. I usually have 1 or 2 bags in storage and rotate them through, so it's easy to keep costs low, buying at these lower prices. Enjoy!

Diamond is the best!

I have a couple fussy chihuahuas that will not eat Canidae, which I believe is a very good dog food. So, I needed to try something a little bit cheaper in price that was still just as good as Canidae... so I decided to try Diamond and it worked!!! The fussy ones love the Diamond!!! Still very good product, gives the same results as Canidae and they will eat it. One of them got a tear from fighting a rottweiler while at the park. She is doing well after surgery and is lucky to be alive. The vet recommended this product Vitapet Advanced Strength Joint and Hip Chewables because part of her elbow was torn. This has helped heal it as per the last xray scan at the vets. I highly recommend it as its yummy and tastes like a treat.

We've been buying either this or the beef meal for a few months now, and all four of our dogs (and our current foster) seem to do really well on it. It does seem to disappear pretty quickly, so we mix in a bit of a cheaper food to help it go a little bit farther. The result so far has been healthy, energetic dogs with good coats and normal looking poop. Cheaper overall than trying to buy anything locally that isn't made of sawdust, and delivered to our door - we're happy. Maybe it's not 100% "grain-free" but a lot better than cheap grocery store food or the literal garbage they were living off of before we met them, so I have no complaints. We tried the whole super-healthy home cooked 3 course meal and whatever, but they still preferred cat droppings, mud, or decaying possums, so we figured that was a huge waste of time and money. And this way I'm sure they're getting their vitamins.

Dogs love the taste, I love the ingredients. Zero digestive system upset on this food

I tried this when our regular food was out of stock and we were running low. I mixed it with our regular kibble for three nights until we ran out of the regular food. We have five dogs and absolutely none of them had any digestive trouble making the switch to Diamond Natural. It's been two weeks since we started this food and my guys like it so much that I just bought two more 40lb bags. Everyone is happy to eat the Diamond with or without a canned food topper mixed in. I'm happy with the ingredients - no soy, corn or cellulose here. My guys have normal stools and very little flatulence on the Diamond and they don't leave a single kibble in their bowls.

Completely Balanced Diet!

This dog food has ranked number one amongst several independent pet food research firms for quite a while now. My family and I have 3 high-energy hunting dogs and have fed them this brand for years. The ingredients are natural, the fillers are minimal, and our dogs love the taste. Purina Pro Plan is often advertised as being "the best" for your dog, but if you compare the ingredients, and independent research statistics the Diamond Naturals blows them out of the water. We will continue to buy this for years to come. Our only suggestion would be to step the thickness of the bag up a few mils...we have had 2 arrive ripped open and spilled inside the shipping box.

As someone with a degree in companion animal nutrition I am somewhat of a dog food snob. BUT I'm also a very practical person and realize that my family cannot feasibly afford to spend a ton of money on our dog food. That being said I went searching for a budget friendly yet quality dog food. After getting our rescue cattle dog on Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice her coat came in beautiful and thick as well as appropriate sized bowel movements (yay poo!). It is consistent as well as very reasonably priced. Not to mention easy to find. There was one time I had to change protein sources from Chicken to Lamb based on our stores availability and it did not sit well with our dogs gut (partially my fault too due to me not switching the food appropriately) as well as she did not enjoy the flavor. I contacted the company and they were not only quick, prompt AND apologetic, they gave us a full refund and did not require us to return the food. A shelter in our area reaped the benefits. The company looked through their production log and lab reports to find no issues so my issues was probably me and our dog specifically. But I'll stop there. I'm very impressed with the food AND the company!

LOOK NO FURTHER.

I’ve tried homemade food which got overly expensive quickly- I had them on what I thought was amazing brand- (as does many people) until I read the ingredients. I have looked at every review, every dry dog food, googled ingredients...This dog food is the only dry food I will buy. I have three dogs, a Staffordshire terrier, a terrier mix, and a pit-bull. They’ve been gaining proper weight, they love this food, no digestive problems at all. Amazing! The first bag I received had a hole in it, Amazon replaced it with an entire new bag for free. One of the bags spilled out, they replaced that one as well. (I’m sure it was more the drivers fault than Amazon, or maybe the manufacturer had a issue) not entirely sure. 10/10 though.

Don't believe everything you read, Try it for yourself!

OK, After reading the other reviews I hesitated buying this.....My 4 dogs love it!! It is very similar to another food we had been using from the local Tractor Supply store. As others stated their dog got sick or problems with soft stools, Not the case with any of our dogs, (Black Lab, Golden Retriever, Boston Terrier and A Yorkie / Pom Mix) It may be because the food we have been using was so similar but it has been great! 4 DOGS APPROVED!!

No more rash for my pitbull!

After much trial and error with different foods of varying price ranges, we finally found that the cause of our American Staffordshire Terrier's terrible rash was an allergy to potatoes. Both sweet and white. It's quite difficult to find food without potatoes - it's often used as a substitute for grain in grain-free foods. I was happy to find this food at my local pet food store and even happier to find that his rash is gone AND I can get it for $10 cheaper on Amazon. I hope they don't randomly change the recipe someday because dealing with food allergies in dogs pretty much sucks and I don't want to have to find another brand! He's about 90lb and this bag lasts us one month at 4 cups of food per day. Great quality food at a great price.

Low calories and easy on my babies tummy

I have been giving Diamond for my dogs for now almost a year and I'm very pleased with it. I have a Golden Retriever and a Boxer both with sensitive stomachs. I have in the past three years almost everything in the market with good quality such as Royal Canine, Blue, Purina Pro...and many others( I do not give my dogs food you can buy at grocery store, they just junk food for digs) to just be frustrated in seeing my two babies have digestive problems with dog foods. Besides ID and Purina Pro Plan, first only available with a prescription and second a little too expensive for me, I founded that this brand offer good qualities such as easy to digest, relatively low calories, good nutritional content and good price. Jack, my boxer, was an abused dog, skin and bones when we adopted him from SPCA. In this good he is now at a normal weight and pure solid muscle. Nikki, the Golden, tends to gain weight easy but we can manage to keep it in control by giving 1/4 cup less than Jack. For some reason they both prefer the chicken flavor but will eat others too. I'm very pleased with it not only because it's good for my babies but also for my pocket. Update 07/2017: Still the best for my doggies and my pocket. Using the Light version now and Nikki lost 10 lbs, better on her joints.
