Glad I read reviews on this product on how it helps to clean up the sludge and algae. Hard to control algae during hot summer months and has been an ongoing problem for years. Experts at Nelson's water ponds told us there was nothing we could do. Well thanks to this product my 300 gal. pond is clear again and the fish and turtles are safe and happy! Will definitely buy again.

This was wonderful! I took a net and scaped out as much dead algae and bottom sludge as I could, added the product as instructed, and, After only one week, our goldfish pond is so much clearer now, I can see the fish, and, the bottom. I had been using the Algaefix for about two weeks before beginning the Sludge Destroyer. I Am trusting that it will get even clearer and better with continued use. Hopefully using the two products we can make it through the summer and enjoy the fish instead of green crud.

I have been battling a koi pond that suddenly decided to turn GREEN about a month ago. I have tried multiple products and even got a quote to have my pond cleaned ($800!). This product was literally my last ditch effort before emptying the pond and attempting to clean myself. I sprinkled the product as directed and within 24 hours my pond is CLEAR. I am ecstatic!! Highly recommend.

Last fall I inherited a koi pond that I don't think was taken care of very well. While this didn't fix all my problems, it sure made a difference to the water clarity. I was very careful not to add too much when I first started, but even with small doses I could see the fish much better. I've just started using this again as the weather has warmed up enough for the pond to be active. This time in much larger doses. With all the rains we've been having the visibility in the pond has not been good because we're getting water runoff into the pond. I put some of this stuff in this morning, and the water has become perfectly clear in just a few hours. It has also been working to reduce the amount of string algae I have on the waterfall. I don't know if it will eliminate all of it, but over the past couple of weeks it has lessened the problem. I'm happy with the product.

Had a terrible algae bloom. Plus had a lot of dead leaves from the fall. I couldn't even see the fish except when they were feeding. Used the Pond-Zyme as directed. On the third dose I noticed the water seemed to look different. 3 days later...magic...water is so clear, I can see the bottom of the pond, over 28" deep. Hoping summer maintenance dose will keep it that way. Love this stuff!!

Highly effective, takes a number of treatments to get the results, but all natural. The fish like eating it for some odd reason.. All the gunk accumulates in places kind of like a gelatin mass. Just scoop them out when I see them and toss them in the flower beds. Would recommend this product to anyone.

Update- I didn't need to wait a few more days, my pond is now totally clear. Will keep using this along with the algaecide. Last year I found and used an algeacide that worked like a charm for my little backyard pond. It kept it free of algae all summer long, which was a first for me. It is starting to warm up, so I used my tried and true again and my pond kept getting progressively greener. It wasn't working at all. I drained my pond, refilled, then drained and refilled again and hit it hard with the algae control. Still looking terrible. I ordered this and put in the first dose. The first thing I noticed is this floats on the surface for a long time before it sinks and I was worried it wouldn't do much. That night we had a bad wind storm and one of my potted plants ended up in the pond. Great, even more mess. I netted out all the debris I could and figured I'd have to drain and refill this week. This morning I go out, and though all the algae isn't quite gone yet, it is much less so. The water is still a bit murky, but I can see the bottom. With the algae as bad as it was, then the wind storm, I figured it would be a total disaster and it isn't. I think due to this product. I removed and hosed out the filters and one thing I noticed is that the gunk in them is darker brown in color than usual. I think this is the waste and stuff coming out. I gave it a second dose today and hope that within the next few days it is back to normal. It is only going to get hotter, I need to control it now. Anyway, I think this works pretty well, with all the issues it is much clearer than I anticipated it being today. I will continue using and update my review.

I was not expecting such dramatic results. I have a small backyard pond with 6 large goldfish. It’s in the shade under a tree, but still grows a lot of string algae in the winter. Because of the fish and the debris from the tree, the water was getting very dark and full of sludge. I thought I would have to do a complete drain and scrub it out soon. But I found this product on Amazon with good reviews and decided to give it a try. I dosed the pond with a half dose (because I’m cautious with introducing new things to my aquatic environment) on a Saturday morning before heading out of town for the weekend. When I got home the next day, I was shocked! I could see the bottom of the pond everywhere in the pond. I could see the pond snails I added to take care of the algae. I hadn’t seen them since I put them in. I thought they had died. I even saw a tadpole swim by that I had NO idea was in there. If your pond needs help, give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

I am amazed by this product. I have tried many kinds of products for control of algae and muck. All others were either ineffective or they were expensive short term fixes which created other problems by their use. After a while I had pretty much sworn off using any of these commercial preparations. I have a biofilter and UV light but I live in Southern California where my pond is in sunlight all day long. Water temps in the summer are in the low 80's and that's a recipe for algae growth. When I started using API Pondcare Pond-Zyme I realized this product is different. It really does help to keep the algae and muck in control. I now use two to four scoops per week for my 4,500 gallon pond. I can clearly see the bottom (5-1/2 feet) and have minimal problems with algae and muck. If I forget to add Pond-Zyme I will notice string algae beginning to grow and that reminds me to add it again. I notice results within 48 hours and the benefits seem to last a couple weeks. When I stay in the habit of adding a scoop or two twice a week the pond stays nice and clear. Update: Two years later I am still using this product and am very happy with the results. For maintenance, I don't worry about the dosage instructions on the label. I just add two scoops to my waterfall or skimmer every few days. That way I don't have to remember when two weeks have passed. My 4,500 gallon pond stays clear right to the bottom - even in hot weather with a fish load.

After trying barley straw, algecide, and plain beneficial bacteria to clear the bottom of my small pond I finally tried this...and it works! No more cleaning the pond by siphoning water to suck out the muck and debris. It's just gone (in tandem with my filter). I am cleaning my filter more often but it's absolutely worth it.
