I purchased these for my grandchildren, ages eight and five. I thought they would love painting the turtles and placing them in their garden. Both children really enjoyed the project, spending considerable time designing their turtles and discussing their choices of colors, etc. with me, so I had a great time as well. The paints have caps, so if a child wished to add more colors to the turtle later the paints should stay moist. Another customer suggested adding a clear finish to the turtle; I think this would be a good idea.

I love these little turtles

I love these little turtles. When ever I have company for several days, I have them paint one and hide it in my yard. They are durable and last in the weather. I live in a very hot climate and they have survived the heat and wind for over 2 years. Everybody loves to paint them.

7 year old approved!

I bought this for a family member who loves crafts but is not easily impressed. Luckily, she loved this item. Worth the price. High quality. Perfect craft for many ages and now we have a little turtle friend named Tina to keep our yard company!

Wonderful product that left wonderful memories

I love the Alex Rock Pet line. I purchased my kids one for their Easter baskets this year and they were a hit. They were 3 and 5 but had fun painting them. We then brought them to the cemetery to leave by a friends headstone. It was such a special touch and a wonderful way experience for my kids. It made them feel special and as a mother it was so touching. I ordered 3 more for Christmas that I plan to do the same with.

Easy, fun project for kids

My 9 yr old son absolutely loves this turtle. He painted it to look like a real turtle and glued googly eyes on it. The brush that comes with it is crappy, but we have some decent quality paintbrushes he used instead. I would definitely recommend that instead of the included brush. The paint itself is pretty good. It was very tacky/sticky for the first day or so after he painted it, but it cured nicely.

Fun!

Yet another great craft. Bought these and did them with my 3 and 5 year old sons. We painted them for about 20 minutes a day, 3 days in a row. To get bright full color you need 2 coats, but the fun and smiles it brought my kids, even mashing the colors , a great price for a super fun craft that they love in their room and are looking forward to putting in the garden soon!

Simple, cute, and lots of fun

I bought this as a gift for my sister. Now this little guy lives in our mother's garden. It's a fun project for any age. I will buy one for my younger cousin as well. Light weight and easy to paint. Note: we already had some acrylics paint. My sister used both the ones we had at home and some of the ones in the package. The paints it came with also work really well.

Tortoise lives his new friend....

The product has a decent weight to it. I got the turtle for decoration for my tortoises house so I didn’t paint it fearing he might chip it and eat it. He is very curious about it and I even pose it around the house once and a while lol. It comes with paints and a brush and is a great gift for any kid. My daughter wants to paint it badly so I might purchase another one it’s really great for the price!

Cute, fun, inexpensive.. great gift!

Great present for a girl who likes to paint rocks. She opened it to work on it right away. We looked up pictures of how people painted these or things similar for ideas before painting ours. This was so cute and so fun. It's a great gift for anyone who likes to paint and likes knick-knacks. Also, it was a great price.

Fun for kids

Not sure what it is about this kit that my kids find so amusing, but they have both asked for it multiple times. It's become an annual addition to their Easter basket and they are excited to do it every year.
