We got this for my almost 3yr old for Christmas. He loves these little puzzles. They come in a nice wooden box with dividers that separate the 4 puzzles. There are shapes on the back of the puzzle pieces letting you know which piece goes with which puzzle for when they, inevitably, get jumbled. Each puzzle also has their own color boarder too. These are perfect for entertainment during a long car ride or other travel. The top of the box has an edge around it preventing pieces from slipping and falling off when box is at a slight angle (like in the child's lap). Cute and compact.

great puzzles for a puzzle-loving child. 4 puzzles in one, what a deal! And they have drawing of shapes in each puzzle pieces so they're easy to sort out when it's clean up time. HOWEVER, if you buy two different sets of these puzzles, I would recommend that you put another distinctive marker because Melissa and Doug puts the same shape drawings in the back of their puzzles! lol . Other than that i recommend it.

Purchased for a family member with dementia. While he was able to think better, he enjoyed putting these puzzles together. As the dementia increased, he'd get them mixed up and backwards. But he still fiddled with them for quite some time. Well made. The backs are marked so you can group the pictures in the right snapshot. Colorful. I ended up taking a photo of the completed puzzles, which I printed for reference.

My grandson has always been really great at puzzles. I bought these when he was 3 and he still plays with them at nearly 5. He loves that he can sort the pieces into the 4 compartments of the wooden box by identifying the shape on the back of each piece (square, triangle, etc). Don't interrupt him until he has finished all four puzzles, independently. I also got him the car ones just like this. The lid is a bit hard for the little ones to slide on as the pieces have to be just right in the box. Each puzzle is rather small, but it doesn't make too big of a mess in his small room, either. He can have all four puzzles going at once and it's not a disaster. We often race each other to see who can finish a puzzle first. Five stars.

We bought a set of these 4 in 1 puzzles (train, race car, fire truck & bus) for our son when he was 4 and he still loves them (he's now 5) so we bought this set of construction vehicles and he loves them too! We really need quiet things for him to do at church and I love that I can throw each one in a ziplock bag and bring them with us easily. These might be too easy for some 5-6 year olds (our son is autistic) but I think they'd be a safe bet for ages 3-5 for sure. Here's what's great about it: - Quality. That's something I've come to rely on with Melisa and Doug and they don't disappoint with this one. I would say it's a small step down in terms of quality from some of their others, but really, for the price you pay, what you get is really great! The wood box is well made, the pieces are not flimsy and the pictures don't peel up at the corners of the pieces like many puzzles. - Good price for FOUR puzzles! - Probably my favorite part about this puzzle is something I was stressing about from the moment I saw it. I was envisioning my boy dumping ALL the pieces out at once and me having a horrible time trying to sort which piece goes with which picture and in which compartment. Fortunately the clever people at Melissa and Doug thought of that and put a different red shape on the back of every single puzzle piece so you can easily figure out which go together based which have a circle, which have a square etc. That actually makes for fun clean up because it involves sorting! Nice work M&D! - The lid also serves as a removable puzzle building frame with plenty of room to work. While these puzzles can easily be assembled without the backing (as long as you're doing it on a hard surface like the table or wood floor), it's nice to have that feature. All in all I think these are darling little puzzles and I can definitely recommend! I didn't get a discount or anything like that.

My 4-year-old grandson who lives with me loves it. It's much smaller than I thought it would be, but it's very cleverly designed so the box holds 4 different puzzles in compartments. The puzzle pieces are made of wood with images on top. The bottoms of the puzzles have either a circle, square, triangle or diamond so that you can easily sort them by looking at the bottoms of them. Even my grandson figured that out by himself and organized them to put them away. My grandson had a great time over and over doing each different puzzle and organized them himself. Of all his birthday presents, it's the one he is very attracted to. He has spent more time doing that puzzle box over and over. I love that the puzzle pieces are wood and won't degrade like other puzzles I have bought him. Better yet it came in just a few days, was a nice compact size and the more I think about it, it would be a great thing to take on road trips, vacations because it is small but has 4 different puzzles. I am very happy with my purchase even if I thought it would be larger initially. Now I am thrilled with the size and thinking of buying other ones with farm animals.

My 3.5 year old loves them. These puzzles are great! After some practice, she can now put them together herself. And when she mixes the four puzzles up, they are so easy to sort and put away because of the simple symbol system on the back. All the puzzle pieces look great and so far have lasted (we've had them for about a month).

I bought this as a gift for a 3 year old who digs construction vehicles. We like Melissa & Doug products for our own children and will be buying it for our toddler as well. At first, I thought there was a defect in the frame on top of the box, but soon realized it is to allow for the top to slide off the box. I suspect the picture on the edges of the puzzle will wear with use, as our other puzzles have, but this should definitely last long enough for the birthday boy to outgrow this stage of puzzles. I also like that the puzzles can be stored in the box - it was one of the reasons we chose this item over other puzzles.

Ahhhh, you never go wrong with Melissa and Doug! My 3yo is just in love with it. He's actually able (not always willing to) put away all four puzzles into their separate compartments. He can't slide the lid to close the box though. He also really loves the one with farm animals, but the trucks are his favorite. We've had this one for 2 mo and the farm animals for 6 mo and they are still in really good shape. It came with an extra piece (duplicate), so I hope nobody out there is missing part of a yellow digger.

We have loved these little puzzle boxes. We have had this one and another for a while and my kids loved them even when they got good at other puzzles they love the simplicity of these. And I always keep them around for when young kids may come to our house. It takes up very little space and they are so durable and fun. There are 4 different puzzles and they each have a different shape stamp on the backside so you know what pieces go to which puzzle when organizing them into the right sections. My son look at the pieces from either side and put it back in the right bins though he was so good with puzzles early on at 3 and 4 yrs old back then. My daughter now at 6 isn't as good as he was then at 3 and 4. Again these are super fun and easy. Great toys to have for young kids of all ages.
