I bought 2 of these 18g sized last October to store dog food in after we got a second dog. The new one still eats puppy food, so different foods. I unstack them to refill, then stack them in the corner. They have held up with no issue. I have purchased bags as large as 40lbs of food that have fit in one container (Iams large breed) with no issue. They have held up to my 2 big rough dogs, and a 3 year old trying to "help" learn to feed them. (Think messing with the doors, pulling, opening closing repeatedly.) I like the mess they help us avoid with no bags, and we have had no issues with mice/ants/etc. My cats haven't found a way in to them either. I cut the feeding guides of the food from the bags and tape to the door for ease of access, so we can keep track of which box belongs to which dog, and with a growing pup, how much she needs.

Keeping the pet food cupboard clean was a chore - kibble was always spilling out of the bag when we'd scoop out some food. This container fits nicely into the cupboard (I did have to remove a back half-shelf) and keeps the dog food neat and fresh. We have a big dog, so we normally buy 40# bags of food, which fits easily into this size bin. Edited to add: I see a lot of reviews complaining and moaning about how many pounds of material this will hold. It depends on the size and weight of the material - I can easily fit a 44-lb bag of Canidae dog kibble into one container, and could probably fit another 6 lobs for an even 50. That brand of dog food I buy is small and dense. Larger and/or lighter kibble will fill it differently, perhaps only 30-40 lbs.

UPDATE: we put chased a second one and they helped declutter so much! Now the dogs canr steal food and my OCD isn't bothering me as much. BE ADVISED: these are not good for stacking as other reviewers have mentioned. They will collapse in a bit. You cannot fill woth dog food and expect to stack them sadly. Luckily I dont need to. We had these at my work and though the style is not appealing, I decided to order one for home. I couldn't find the virtue vault ones in a smaller size as I did not need a 40lb capacity. I had a specific shelf I wanted the container to fit as well. I just received this and it fits perfectly on my shelf and will hold the 32lb bag of taste of the wild I buy. There's even enough room on my shelf for another in which I'm going to have my roommate purchase for his dogs so we can get rid of our clunky totes we've been using for years! Also, now his dogs won't eat our food anymore and we don't have to keep weights on them!

I bought three of these to keep animal food in my barn dry and safe from unwanted critters. Because the cat food is not as heavy and usually doesn't fill the container completely, I stack them, which is a huge space saver. They have kept my food dry, which is very important. To get the most food in the container I turn it so the opening is straight up. Some people have had issues with it not holding as much as it claims because your contents will fall out. For me I don't mind filling them completely full and leaving them sitting upright for a few days as I use the food. I had a mishap with my horse knocking one over and possibly stepping on it. The lid popped off and a hinge broke. I called the company and they are sending me a free replacement! (One free replacement per order). The customer service was fantastic. I don't expect my houdini horse to cause more issues and I've just placed an order for my 4th container. So happy with this purchase.

Love it! We use it for all of our dog food

I have had one for a few years to hold food for my 1 cat. Then I decided I needed a dog again and adopted an older Doxie from the pound, so I needed another bin. This smallest size is almost impossible to find now that the dog needs a blend of 2 different Prescription Diets and word is they’re being discontinued. Don’t you dare do that! They are perfect for the 6 pound sacks of dry food and perfect for short grandmas with arthritis in their shoulders. A bin that they have to access from the top becomes a nightmare by the last of the food. And I have never seen a bug of any kind in or around my food. Very well made, easy to close and the cat and dog can’t get in. I intend to stack my 3rd one on top of one of the others. Glad I was able to get that last one! Please keep making them. I never know what I’ll end up with next!

I bought two of these to stack on top of each other for 50lbs of grain in each for my Tack room of my horse Barn. They worked Perfectly! Until one day I left the gate open and the two horses Decided to break into the Bins. They Knocked them both over and kicked them. The only thing that Broke was the Doors- so they held up much better than I expected that abuse. I couldn't find new doors anywhere so I reached out to the company asking where I could Purchase new Doors. They said they would send me two new doors for free! I never asked them to do this and it certainly was not a product Default that caused the doors to break. It was 100% my fault yet they offered to take care of it for me. I am so impressed, it isn't often you find companies like that anymore!

Not airtight, but as I keep food in the bag with a clip, that's okay. I use Merrick & Fromm dog food, can just fit a 30 lb bag (largest size) of those. Very pleased, allows me to store & reach kibble on a pantry shelf, well above dog reach, vs keeping in an upright pull-out container on the floor. No more wear from the wheels on my floor, no more bending to scrape from the bottom of the bin (my achy back & creaky knees are happy), and if crumbs, etc need to be cleaned put, is so easy to carry over to the sink, rinse & dry. And, the price was much better than local stores, esp since I bought one from the Amazon Warehouse Deals that was "damaged". Hah, yeah, just a small scuff on the side, barely noticeable, and invisible since it's in my pantry. I checked out similar containers with the screw on, airtight lids, but those lids were tought to grip & turn, and required 2 hands to open & close, and you need a spot to set down the dish & lid from the bin. Try that while holding a dish full of kibble. With this one, I open the pantry door, flip open the lid on the bin - which stays open easily - unclip the bag, scoop out kibble, reclip the bag, flip the lid & pantry door closed - all with 1 hand, in literally 5-6 seconds. And, when you have an "omg, I thought I was gonna die from hunger" FLabrador Retriever, seconds matter, LOL.

I use this to store pine pellet cat litter. I receive it in 40lb bags and this easily holds more than one full bag. I appreciated another reviewer's recommendation to lay the container on its back to fill. Excellent tip. I do wish it came with a reversible door, or the option to order left-hinged or right-hinged doors. The handles make it easy to move and carry. I keep other supplies on top: scoop, bags, etc. Nice to have everything in one place.

Good all-around design & function. Hold about 45 lbs of dry Costco dog food, so when you get to half a bag in the container, you tilt it up, and can dump a new 30-lb bag in. It works best if you tilt it up to pour the new food in. The door snaps shut, and works fine for our 60-lb mixed mutt in pic, who is well behaved (He won't even eat the food out of a scoop sitting next to his dish until we put it in the dish;-). If your dog is a bit of a rascal and works at it, they may be able to pop the door open with their claws. In that case, there is a pad-lock hasp that you could put a karabiner in to keep it shut.
