I've been using RealSalt for years and years before I even heard about microplastics in sea salt. I would occasionally love to eat some sea salt but after finding out that 90% of the earth's sea salt contains microplastics, I gave up on using it. Not so with Redmond! They've always stated on their containers that the salt they mine comes from an ocean millions of years ago that was trapped in the earth, free from pollution. If you don't believe it, just type it into a search engine like DuckDuckGo (I use that since they don't track you or use your browsing information as a marketing engine). I also love the tinge of sweetness that this salt has and I asked both a cardiologist and a registered nutritionist at my hospital why this salt had a sweetness to it and they replied it was from the mineral content; mainly potassium and magnesium. I can no longer use table salt anymore, it does not even taste good and it's not good for you.

According to my research, this is the most healthy salt you can consume. I use it for multiple purposes: for cooking, for the minerals it contain as a healthy addition to my diet, and for nasal lavage (you add a small amount to warm, purified water for using a Neti pot or other means of flushing out the sinuses). In food, it tastes delicious. In nasal lavage, it is very soothing. Many health experts recommend this particular brand, and I was happy to find it here on Amazon at a very good price.

If you look at the negative reviews, most complain about grit. I have been using this salt on everything, for the past two weeks, and no grit, just great taste. I argue that this is the healthiest salt available to humans as well. Enjoy! EDIT- 1 month, still not grit, I have truly no idea what they are talking about. Also, I love Himalayan pink salt, this tastes better. I'm not joking. Oh and remember, this does NOT have iodine, so take a supplement. EDIT -2 2-3 months Grit. I found some and I think it was in the salt. not large enough to damage your teeth, not pleasant, still the best salt I have ever tasted in my life. Will buy more when the shaker runs out.

I enjoy knowing that the foods that I prepare for my family are healthy for them. So I do my best to provide the best and when I can get products that have not been processed to the point that all nutrients no longer exist in them "DEAD FOOD", I am going to get it. When I found this salt that is all natural, unprocessed and unrefined and still contain the good natural minerals that salt should, I had to have it. I purchased 3 which I know will last for quite sometime and doing so I know my family will be getting necessary nutrients from this product and not bleach, ammonia and other unhealthy substances that should not be consumed by "ANY" living being. If you are concerned about your health and care about what you and your family consume this is a all natural product and is worth the money considering how long it will last.

LOVE this salt has the best taste ever and I have been using it for close to 30 years. Bought the first bag off the warehouse truck in Utah. Watched the boulders come trucking into the grinder. LOVE IT LOVE IT

I've been using this salt for 20 years and it's hands down one of the best salts available and is mined and packaged in the USA. This salt is loaded with minerals and is actually good for you. Unlike cheap store bought salt , it hasnt been bleached , hasn't had iodine added to it and hasn't gone through other processes that make ordinary salt bad for you , so doesn't cause problems with high blood pressure the way other salts do. Real..... Sea Salt. That's the keyword. Compare this salt with the sea salts you purchase from your local grocers that say "sea salt." Compare by taste and by what you see. Sprinkle this salt into a small white dish or your palm. Look at the difference between the two. The ones you purchase from local stores are solid white just like the regular salt you always use to purchase. Then take a look at this salt. You will find all kinds of colors mingled within this salt. Why? Because it is REAL SALT. All the minerals from the earth have been left in this salt as it should be. Be wise and purchase goods the way God meant for it to be. All Natural. The more we consume products the way they were meant to be, the more we energize our bodies with goodness.

Honestly, when l hear how great and healthy something is for you, l cringe. How can food grown in polluted ground be good for us. Organic farms are often side by side with nonorganic farms. Pesticides blow through the air. There are no invisible walls to stop them. They’re often fed from the same polluted water source. The sea salt that is supposedly better than the chemically made table salt, comes from water so polluted we’re told not to eat the fish, or to consume it in small anounts. THAT’S why l love Redmond Real Salt. It’s sea salt but from ancient seas that have been covered over by the earth for thousands of years, protected from the chemicals, poisons and toxins men have been pumping into our ground, water and food for decades. I like the pink particles of minerals naturally mined with the salt. After using this for years, at other people’s homes or at restaurants their salt leaves a chemical after taste. I love this salt.

The flavor of this salt is amazing compared to refined salt. Is there a little grit....yes, but you get used to it and don't notice it after your brain adjusts to the switch. Minerals and natural things are sort of like that; just unrefined. If you want refined salt then stick with refined salt. Its sort of like how people move to the mountains but then they don't like curvy roads with hills. Sometimes you just like what you are used to. I love this salt and don't even notice the extra texture at all. I find I use less than the refined salt but then I like to add more of other seasonings to add complexity.

I first found this salt at Whole Foods, and loved it, but they have stopped carrying it. I tried other salts, but nothing tasted as good. So I finally ordered on amazon. The other day we needed to refill the salt shaker, and I ended up getting some of this salt and some of my last salt in a container together. You could clearly see the difference - the other salt was pure white and this one is not. I asked my salt-loving 13 year old to taste them both - he said the Real Salt tasted saltier - he much preferred it. I'm not a salt lover, but to me this brand has a more complex flavor, so that it adds flavor rather than just 'saltiness' to foods. So glad I can still find my favorite salt!
