Dynamite Dino Puzzles

We gifted these to our three year old from his newborn sister. Our son loves dinosaurs and puzzles so double win!! Don’t worry about mixing up the puzzle pieces because each puzzle is stamped with a different shape on the back. For example puzzle number one has a triangle stamped to the back of each of its pieces. Puzzle number two has squares. You get it. If your kid loves Dino’s then this is the perfect gift. Perfect for gift baskets, stocking stuffers, etc. Enjoy!! XO

Mom and 2.5 yr old love it

Cheaply made and a few things about it could be improved upon, but you get what you pay for. That aside, I give it 5 stars because my toddler who loves dinosaurs and puzzles really enjoys this puzzle set. He does all four puzzles several times a day. Fun, colorful pictures. They're simple puzzles but challenging enough to keep my 2.5 year old engaged -- he does need some help but it's great for calm/quiet play and provides great learning opportunities (learning top/bottom/middle/corners/side, recognizing patterns/colors, etc). On the back of each puzzle set is a shape, so if all the pieces get mixed together you can quickly and easily sort them again. Me and my son are very happy with this puzzle.

The quality is great and nothing has broken or chipped

My almost 3 year old loves these! She has a little trouble putting them together since they are jigsaw and that makes them a little bit more complicated but she's definitely getting the hang of it! The quality is great and nothing has broken or chipped, etc. after a few months of use. Even though these are a tad bit challenging, I think they are still worth it for toddlers!!

Love these

My 3 year old loves this. He started playing with similar puzzles, after he turned 2 ( another version of the same product, that has lasted for last 5+ years of significant amount of playing by my older kid and now the younger one). They are very sturdy and can withstand a lot of serious playing of an energetic kid. The box helps to keeps things organized. They are perfect for a 2.5+ years old. He plays with them everyday and have not lost interest so far ( I have 4 sets of this, and may consider buying more).

Great set for young children. Very detailed pics and well made product

(I just wrote a long review for this item and went to submit it, and the words disappeared!! So this will be much shorter and to the point!!) My first impressions: 1.) box was much smaller then I expected, especially for the price I paid. 2) seemed heavy and very well built Christmas morning: 1.) when my son opened this present, he was ECSTATIC!!! At age 2 he was a puzzle master and dinosaur obsessed! He wanted to stop opening presents right away and put these puzzles together! Opening the box: 1.) The plastic this box was wrapped in was easy to get into, the wooden lid on the box itself, not so much.. My son couldn't get it open himself so he needed help with that.. It took some effort on my part to get it slid off as well, because the places that are cut out for the lid to slide in and out of are pretty stiff.. I guess that is a good thing though because after lots of use, you don't want the lid to just start sliding off on its own. 2.) Each puzzle took him about 5-7 minutes to get put together. The pictures on each puzzle were very detailed and colorful. 3.) I worried about the paper pictures on the wooden pieces peeling off after continued use. 4.) There are shapes on the back of each piece that helps you identify which pieces go together. There is also a separate compartment for each puzzle in the box. When he got done with the puzzles, I had him take them all apart and mix them together, then separate them by matching the shapes as they went back in the box. We noticed that 2 of the puzzles had shapes on the back that were VERY similar.. This could be a problem depending on the age and maturity of your child. Overall impression after 1 year of use: 1.) This has been a favorite puzzle set for my son since he got it. He chose these puzzles several times over the other puzzles he owns. 2.) The puzzle pieces and the storage box are still in great shape. No torn, peeling or missing paper from the pieces or the box, and no broken or loose wood on the box. They have held up well. 3.) the storage box and the shapes on the puzzle pieces make him actually WANT to put the puzzles away when he's finished with them (YESSS!!) 4.) The recommended age may be a little off (in my opinion). It says ages 3 and up but my son was 2 when we got this and now at 3, he doesn't use these puzzles as much as he use to because it only takes about 2 minutes to put together each one. I definitely recommend this puzzle set. After about 6-8 months of NON-STOP use, the puzzle pieces and the storage box still look as good as new!

Endless Educational Possibilities

Puzzle box arrived in a timely manner & in excellellent condition. This is a great box of puzzles. My 3-yr.-old grandson loves them. I ordered the dinosaur box. 4 different dinosaurs. Each individual puzzle has a small shape (circle, square, triangle, or diamond) on the back of each piece. This way the puzzle pieces can be sorted into each of the four compartments in the box very easily. Educational. Shape identification. Sorting. Classification. Dinosaur identification. Endless ideas. Box & all puzzle pieces are made of wood. Very sturdy.

Two year old loves these puzzles!

Purchased this set of dinosaur puzzles since my 2 yr old has two other sets of these Melissa & Doug puzzles as well (the vehicles & the pets). These, like the others, are awesome. You get four different puzzles in the wooden carrying box, all separated into four different compartments which is SO helpful. Then the lid can be used as a surface to build each puzzle upon, genius! It's also pretty helpful that each puzzle is stamped on the back with different shapes, so you can easily sort them if they get mixed up (like the t-rex puzzle has triangles stamped on the back of each piece, triceratops has diamonds, etc.). The fact that you get four puzzles, a sturdy, organized storage box, and a play surface all in one makes the price entirely worth it, too. I would highly recommend these Melissa & Doug puzzles!

Great for 2.5 year old, love to take it on trips

I love these puzzle and so does my son. I bought them for him when he was 2 because he was able to quickly do a puzzle where the pieces sit on top of a picture and I wanted to see if he could advance to the next type of puzzle. He didn't quite get it at 2, but at 2.5 he could put them together by himself. He's almost 3 now and it only takes him about a minute or two to do one of these puzzles. So if you are on the fence about the age recommendation, I would say buy it early and you can always take it away and bring it back out a few months later. The pieces are sturdy for many years of use. The finished puzzle photos are brightly colored and perfect for toddlers. I also love the box it comes in because it's easy to transport 4 puzzles. I pack these in the suitcase when we go on trips to keep my son busy. I've bought a few of these sets. My son is always excited to do new puzzles and he does them over and over again. I also like that the puzzle pieces have a specific shape printed on the back so if all the puzzles are dumped out, you don't have to spend a lot of time trying to figure out which pieces go to which puzzle, you just put all of one shape in a compartment. I've also used this to show my son how to sort.

Best puzzle I've found for 3-5 year olds!

I bought this for my grandson, who turned 3 in November. He loves any kind of puzzle, but these Melissa & Doug puzzle collection is wonderful! First of all, each of the puzzles are marked on the back with either a triangle, a diamond, a square and a circle, and each puzzle has it's own square inside to put the pieces in. So, it's easy for Evan to sort the pieces if they get mixed up, He puts the pieces in the box upside down so he can make sure they are all separated correctly. Second, you put the puzzle together on the lid, which has wooden edges that keep the puzzle contained. We're teaching Evan to do the corners first and then the outside, which is easy since the perimeter of the puzzle stands out. Third, the pieces are thick enough for little hands to manipulate easily. I heartily recommend these puzzles for 3-5 year olds, because they make the child think rather than just plunk a piece into a space that is shaped exactly like the puzzle piece.

Nice! Definitely for 3 and up, but well-made

The numbers on the back of the pieces make sorting them out very easy; no mixing puzzles. Pieces were a little small for my 2 year old but these were bought at an awesome price 6 months before her birthday and she should have no problem with them now. Box is easy to open and close, not extra large, and the tray on top for assembling the puzzles was a huge help. Colors are bright, box is well-sanded, pieces are smooth and fit together well. This is a good buy for any dino-nuts!
