Nice thick rounded edge - works great

Really nice rounded edges on this smoothing tool. It looks like a spatula but the material is not as thin. So it is great for smoothing wallpaper without marring it. You can push bubbles out and press the wallpaper on. I use it in conjunction with a slightly wet microfiber cloth and don't need any other smoothing tool. I don't use it as a guide to cut the wallpaper. There you want to go to something with a metal edge. But for everything else it works great.

I am a professional paperhanger in Australia, originally from the UK and suggest that this product could be the preferred installation tool for professional paperhangers. I rarely use a brush these day, except for some flock wallpapers.

Great Multi-Use Tool

I used this to help smooth down some marble-patterned contact paper for some DIYs, and it worked splendidly. Helps to remove air bubbles, form tight edges, and more. This tool definitely seems like it can have a lot of uses, and performs well at those I've utilized it for thus far!

The tool you need for applying contact paper

This tool made quick work of applying contact paper to a wood shelf that I fashioned for my old stereo cabinet. The tool can also be used as a paint shield or to apply wall paper. Handy thing to have around. The plastic is heavy and sturdy.

Makes a great dog chew toy

While I can't speak to it's usefulness as a smoothing tool, apparently it has great appeal as a doggy chew toy. Not sure if it was the smell or the texture, but this bad boy only last about 24 hours in my house. So if you like your dogs eating plastic, this is a great option. Can't say how useful it is for it's intended purchase, though.

Perfect for the job and not smelly!!!

First time using this for a table project I saw in Pinterest, at first I was unsure as to how this was going to go down, since the paper was moving all over the place, yet once I put the tool at one edge and started moving it upwards, the paper stayed in place and started rolling in smoothly. One thing that was noticeable about this tool is that it did not have the same horrible smell my other tool from my local home improvement store had, so in a sense it felt safer.

This worked great... I kept pitting it down and forgetting where it was... so I used a book in some areas which worked just as well... but it was great to have to really get the corners well.

Great Tool for Contact Paper!

I decided to take the plunge and do some DIY projects with contact paper. After researching, reading and watching numerous YouTube videos, I knew I would need a smoothing tool (a credit card would be way too small for the areas I would be covering). This worked great! I do recommend to use a soft towel while smoothing out your paper, mine seemed to get minor scratch-like imperfections, but nothing major or noticable and they seemed to buff out when I used a soft towel. But I was using white marble contact paper, so that will show any and every imperfection. I know this tool will come in handy for future projects!

Where has this been all my life?!?

As a teacher, I have used contact paper A LOT. The part I struggle with the most is getting a smooth application with no bubbles. I was using a wooden ruler, but decided to try out this gadget on my latest endeavor. This this takes the cake BY FAR for being the most effective tool for the job—along with the exacto knife I purchased with it. Smooth and perfect application every time with ease! Trust me, you NEED this!!

Highly recommend

I did some wall paper work in my bedroom for a rustic accent wall. This tool hands down made my life so much easier when applying! It help moved paper around and push out any bubbles or move around glue if necessary! Highly recommended! My wall is so beautiful and smooth thanks to this product!
