Great product, still!
Love this product and have been using it and buying it from Amazon for a very long time. But OMG --- the 6 pack has nearly doubled in price since the last time I bought it. What the heck? Doesn't seem right. But I supposed I shouldn't complain when there are people in the world who have to walk for miles to get clean water. I do love the quality of the tap in my kitchen pantry with these things attached. So I'll shut up now and be grateful for what I have, and recognize that $10 is a very small price to pay for all that delicious clean water. Edit: So disappointed with the order I placed in late summer 2015. First one I opened, and the refill cartridge was covered in mold. Sent the whole order back for a refund. Now in September, I'm completely out of cartridges so I'm reordering. Second at bat, Amazon. Let's see if you strike out this time.

A simple replaceable filter that works
These things really work! Tap water in my area is very chlorinated and a touch cloudy. Filled 2 identical glasses with unfiltered and filtered water. Obvious difference in smell, color and taste. I never drank water right out of the sink before. I do now. On a side note, this 6 pack is a great deal. These replacement filters are very hard to find in the local chain stores and if I do get lucky and find it, they charge about the same for a 4 pack as this 6 pack is.

Convenient, great tasting water.
Love the PUR water filters. We have poor tasting water in the city we live, we've been buying bottle water but the costs just kept adding up. We once tried a PUR jug, but those were a pain to fill up every time we wanted more water. Having the filter directly on the faucet is the best! We were not a fan of a competing filter due to the fauct design, but the PUR design is great. The 6 pack we bought were great, one was defective I think, as the water only came through at a trickle, but the taste was the same as the others. Your mileage may vary, but the 6-pack I purchased in 2013 lasted about 1 year. I've only used one from the pack I bought this year, but they seem to be lasting about the same. CAUTION: Be sure to read the instructions, while safe to drink, there's an odd taste from the first gallon or two out of the filter. We just bottle it up and feed it to our plants, they don't seem to mind. I think it's from the activated carbon or something, but they do recommend to run it a few minutes. Also, DO NOT run HOT WATER through it. It does something weird to it, and I think it what caused the trickle effect I had from one filter last year.

The price on Amazon is better than in-store prices
Purchased these the replace the water filters for our PUR water filter that is attached to our kitchen sink. The price on Amazon is better than in-store prices. I live in the Great Lakes region and our water has a high chlorine smell in the summer - which tells me that I am drinking chemicals. This filter is great because it takes that nasty smell away and it also filters out other gross and dangerous things like lead and medications that people do not dispose of properly. I have a toddler that loves to drink water, I feel better knowing its CLEAN water.

Easy to use
I have given up on buying bottled water since a few years now. It is a waste of plastic and very polluting. Yet, I do not want to trust the faucet water and even if I did, the taste is often awful. Here comes the remedy: A faucet water filter. I chose Pur long time ago because it was the one looking the best in the store where I was searching. The benefits are that it can be mounted in one minute on your faucet (screwed on in my case), that there is a light telling you if your water is filtered and good (green is good, orange means get ready to need to change the filter, red means it is time). One of these filters lasts me about 4 months. One month more than the guidelines tells me on paper but I follow the light indicator. The recharge takes about 5 mn to be operational (time to put it on and then leave water running so it is drinkable). As for the purity, I will trust the manufacturer that it filters more than 99% of unwanted particles. As for the taste, it is much better in the sense that there is not much taste to this water. Neither bad or good. With 6 recharge, I am theoretically set for about one year and a half.

Best value to get MineralClear filter refills
I have had the MineralClear faucet from PUR for a year, so I needed a refill on the filters after using up the filters that came with the original faucet. After comparing my options, this is the best deal that I could find on refills, as far as the spending per filter goes. I haven't tried using any of the other PUR filter types so I can't compare this product to them, but I do know how much these filters improve the quality of tap water to give consistent, good-tasting water that I know is clean. You can check the PUR website for more detailed information about the studies confirming the efficiency of these filters. The most important thing to me is that my water doesn't taste chlorinated, and that is definitely wiped out by this filter. The filters usually last a full 3 months the way that I use them, and you can even squeeze a little more time out of them if you are willing to look at the blinking red light on the filter indicator light if you need to. It doesn't taste as good, but even water run through an old filter tastes better to me than unfiltered tap water.

Our water has a very high iron content and often appears to be slightly brown from rust which makes it taste and smell terrible
I live in a small town with very rural water. Our water has a very high iron content and often appears to be slightly brown from rust which makes it taste and smell terrible in my opinion. I have started using this for all water we drink and have noticed a very significant improvement in the water quality. I can tell immediately when handed a glass of water if it came directly from the spout or if it came through my PUR filter.

Highly recommend this filter.
I live in Florida. The water here is terrible. But with my PUR faucet water filtration system, I can drink the tap water, and or make ice cubes with it. I left a glass of water filtered with this filter on the counter overnight, alongside a glass of water straight from the tap. The filtered water had no sediments, no smell, etc. The unfiltered water was just plain gross. These filters do a great job. And when they are getting full, a yellow light comes on, in the faucet attachment, to let you know to change it soon. So you can change it before it stops filtering.

LEAD IN TAP WATER?
I use PUR faucet water filters because I'm especially concerned that lead and other contaminates may be in my tap water. I live in an old town and some underground water pipes, recently excavated, were found to contain lead deposits. Also, the filters for faucets are more convenient than filling pitchers. And yes, these filers do make the water taste a bit better. Because I plan to use them indefinitely, from now on I'll order them in this most economical form, 6-packs.

The best filters
Best filters and a great price. You can get these for a great price on Amazon if you get them at the right time. Even still, this 6-pack price knocks the socks off of any other choice. If you love your water filter like I do and use it for everything from drinking to cooking water, then you might as well buy this 6-pack and save yourself some money. I've had no problems with these filters. I would recommend these filters.
