It is the best, I love this brand. when I make scratch pasta sauce, this is the brand I use, especially the diced with green peppers and basil. Once I mine the garlic up, and simmer it in the olive oil just before the minced garlic turns toasty it has this aroma the secret of good pasta spaghetti sauce, and then I add the can of diced tomatoes by Muir Brand and then a can of their paste, water stir and add the rest of the seasonings. This is the best brand to me. I also use in it in the blender for sauce and spices when I make home made pizza Naples style. Best ever tomatoes in a can. Definitely recommend.

A good base for your gravy (sauce) / watch price fluctuation

Bought this to use as my base for tomato gravy (aka sauce). Wanted a sauce base with out added stuff, this just has a bit of sea salt added, no garlic/onions, spice... I add that myself and how I like it! I prefer making gravy from scratch and using fresh tomatoes, but in a pinch and/or winter, this will work. You have to watch the price... If fluctuates a lot... I ordered via subscribe and save one day, and the next the price is cheaper than my 15% "savings".

Delicious Robust Flavored Tomato Sauce That's Great For Any Dish

I want to start by saying that Every. Single. Can. I received was dented. I order canned foods all the time from Amazon and absolutely none get dented in transit- which leads me to believe that I received a very cheap highly discounted set of cans that were severely dented prior to shipment. Needless to say, I was not very happy. Shipment issues aside, though, I want to rate this product based purely on the product alone and not my experience having it shipped to me through Amazon. Muir Glen has always been a company I've admired. They offer quality, organic products at an affordable price. Along with Libby's, they are my go-to for canned veggies. I've ordered canned tomatoes from them before and been very impressed. I thought surely their sauce would also be a win. I wasn't wrong. This sauce is just that; organic tomatoe sauce. Pureed tomatoes. Pure, flavorful perfection. There's no doubting the fact that the tomatoes used in this sauce were picked in their prime- as the quality truly does stand apart in taste from any other tomato sauce on the market. Even big market sauce makers with awesome flavor combos (ehem, Prego) don't match up in taste to Muir Glen's simple tomato sauce. It's robust and delicious and adds the best tomato flavor to any dish. I've used this sauce to make tomato soup, spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, pizza, and marinara dipping sauce for breadsticks and mozzarella sticks. You can never go wrong with this sauce. It tastes delicious on any meal you put it on. I've been a long time user of Hunt's tomato sauce. They're great for my budget- but they don't even come close in competing to Muir Glen for flavor. They're worth the extra dollar; I promise you. And the fact they're organic? That just makes it all the better. No pesticides, no herbicides, no artificial fertilizers- no chemicals. I'm all about organic and I'm a fan of any company that can offer me a truly natural product. Muir Glen wins every time when it comes to canned tomato products and this sauce beats every other out there when it comes to flavor. I'm hoping my next shipment is not as dented; as our store doesn't carry Muir Glen and I'd really like to order these again. The quality of the product is fantastic! I just hope that my next batch comes in cans that are in much better shape.

Wonderful tomato sauce

I have had recent food allergies arise and it is extremely important to me to be able to buy canned products which have all of their ingredients listed. Muir Glen does that so it takes dangers out of purchasing their product. In addition to that, this is the best tasting tomato sauce I have ever purchased. I've bought some of the better known brands for years and thought they were okay until I tried Muir Glen products. I now only buy their canned tomato products because of taste, variety, and finally, listing all of their ingredients.

Buying them in bulk saves the hassle of frequent shopping trips plus convenient packaging. Flavor and texture is always high quality- great for chili, spaghetti and other recipes.

rich tomato flavor

This is my favorite tomato sauce. I’ve had trouble finding it locally so now I buy it online. It’s bland on its own but has a rich tomato flavor and is very versatile. I use it instead of pizza sauce. I just put this sauce on the unbaked crust and sprinkle on basil and oregano for more flavor. I also like to use it as an addition to meatballs and meatloaf. It adds a lot of flavor and moisture.

I used to get Pomi tomato sauce, but this is my new go-to brand. Those tetrapaks Pomi uses are nice and everything, but they require special recycling facilities which we don't have. This tomato sauce has a great flavor that blends well with various spices. I use it for hot sauce and pizza sauce mostly. It's great stuff!

BPA FREE

I have been very disheartened at the difficulty of getting BPA free canned goods. I work full time and need the convenience of canned ingredients when cooking for my family. In my small town, Wal-mart is the only company that carries Muir Glen, so I was so pleased to be able to order a case from Amazon and have them shipped to my door! The tomato sauce is delicious, especially since it is free of the poison infecting most canned products!

No added sugar!

I bought these because they are organic and they don’t have any added sugar. It is hard to find that combo. The taste is excellent, and I am fussy abought tomato sauce.
