I've been using this same set of tools for 6 years now. I do a lot of polymer clay sculpting and these have been a great help. Their sharp points let me add fine details, their stainless steel keeps them pretty clean and easy to clean up if I do get glue or whatever on them. I've even accidentally (lazy artist) left apoxy clay bits on a few of the tips and it hardened to rock like consistency and I just used some of the other tools to scrape off the hardened bits, no harm. They are work horses for me and I probably use them for way more than their intended purposes. Like awls..er...yes...a couple of times the pointy, needle thin tips have been pressed in to service as make do awls for poking holes through leather or cardboard. I admit that after 6 years of use some of the fine tips are starting to bend a bit but good golly, I have put them through their paces. I can't imagine not having this set in my tools. The variety of tips allows me many options when making an elf face, to adjust an eyelid, soften a nose edge, refine a cheekbone or whatever. Great, great tools.

What a game changer! I have had this in my list for a long time, but only just decided to purchase. I wish I would have done this a long time ago! I play around with sculpting and have a set of wood and metal tools that I got years ago- I work with polymer clay and never liked the tools as they always seem to pull up and mark the clay. I can smooth with my fingers but was never able to get clean details that satisfied me. I was assured that I was using appropriate tools by another sculpter, so figured I just sucked at sculpting :-). However, I have been using these for 10 minutes and already love it way more than the tools I have been using for years. You are able to add detail and smooth it into the surrounding clay, without a ton of fuss! So happy, these work way better for me!

For what it is you can't go wrong. Solid medical stainless steel tools either for legitimate wax carving (in this respect all I can say is they seem very strong and sturdy, and they're comfortable to hold) or for all of the dabber's dab tool and nail cleaning needs.

I purchased this set to use for sculpting putty and the like for models/figures and they're very nice for the price I paid. They come in a relatively cheap case but that's not really a downside as the case rolls nicely and does a fine job, most of mine were packaged with red rubber sleeves over the tool surfaces (the ones that lacked them are of sizes and shapes not conducive to the size of rubber sleeves used) and they spread and flatten and sculpt quite well for the price. The stainless construction makes them pretty easy to clean as well, and the variety of tools offered on the double-ended handles affords many sculpting options

After purchasing a bunch of crappy wooden carving tools/pottery tools that were flimsy and overall not good I ordered these, and I was completely satisfied. I should point out that I do not use these for wax carving. I actually purchased and use these for wood carving/etching and they work phenomenal. The metal holds their edges relatively well, after extensive use the metal is in no way warped or bent. The only downside to using these that I've had is that my fingers are severally callused. Doesn't sound like an issue? Because it's not. I'm 100% happy with these tools and this purchase and I would recommend them.

The best quality at the best price I have found ... So far! These are shiny - no rust on tools and packaging. These come with plastic sleeving around the tips of the sharpest and most 'pointy' tools to prevent them from digging their way out of their storage package. That storage packaging rolls up to a small pocket sized bundle and snaps shut to help prevent their loss. The knurling is highly raised: offering excellent grip. There are no burrs or chips and these are well polished - a sculptor's delight! Ready to use! Made in India by the famous brand SEĀ® - Set number DD #312 I highly recommend these for whatever purpose you want to put them to: EXCEPT dental scaling - because I understand that this type of steel is too hard ... and will damage your mouth. YES!!! Buy THESE: you won't be disappointed with what you get.

Bought these for my daughter to use in making her Polmer Clay creations she does. Value for the money was WAYYYYY better than products being sold for the purpose of use with clay. So far she says none of them have bent which is always great to hear, lol! Would definitely recommend!

I have to admit. i didn't think that these would be of such nice quality and heft. They are solid metal, they come in a carrying case and had plastic tips on the sharp points so you don't get stuck opening it up. I take pottery and although I have lots of clay sculpting tools, i didn't have any that do the finer detail work that I have been doing lately. I can't wait to try these out. My mom is taking the class with me and I told her I'd share them with her, because I saw the gleam in her eye when I showed them to her last night. who knows, i might just get her some for her upcoming birthday. 6.18.2013: update...I did by my mom her own set for Mother's day. She was happy. I do really like these tools. I'm not so great at the pottery wheel but I'm really good a free form and sculpting so I use these little babies a lot. I love them.

I have to admit this is a great set, I was worried a bit at first, I got these for work with Polymer clay and I wasn't too sure if they were right for it, But they are great. The only issue I've run into is sometimes on white clay it seems to leave metal coloring marks on it now and then. But I think a good hot water scrubbing (something I should have done as soon as I got them.) will solve that. You get all the tools pictured. in a nice roll up case for travel or storage, And they seem pretty heavy duty, I dropped mine on the floor and one got stepped on by a heavy work boot while we were moving, So I think they can stand up to quite alot of wear and tear depending if your doing clay, Or pottery or whatever you may buy them for. And although the case is nice for storage and travel, I'd buy and extra case or a cup to keep them in at all other times because where some of them are sharp, I see the plastic case getting damaged if they were pulled in and out alot. All and all I'm happy, And i feel it was worth what I spent.

I ordered these tools for polymer clay art work. The product was shipped quickly & packed well. It comes in a little vinyl/plastic thin case that opens up & rolls out so all your tools are viewable with a snap close. Which isn't fancy but nice for storage, as it rolls back up & takes up little space. Sharp tools have rubber ends over for protection-as they are very sharp points once rubber is removed. I was able to put rubber back on pretty easily-just need to do it slowly so it doesn't poke threw the rubber (rubber is thin & bendable). The weight of these tools are good-not too heavy, which is good when using them with detailed work. Weight is balanced pretty nicely. All the different ends sure come in handy when working on clay projects. The points are very good for working on small items or having to put dots or indents on clay mouths or eyes etc... So far I'm quite happy with these tools.
