LOVE THIS MACHINE!
I LOVE this coffee maker. It has worked flawlessly since we have received it. Every morning I'm amazed by the magic of the conversion of whole beans into yummy amazing coffee. Note that everyone seems to complain about the arduous amount of maintenance this thing needs in order to function. Seriously, it takes like two minutes a day. I'm not kidding. It is not difficult to maintain this thing. I think those that complain are just plain lazy and should just get another coffee maker. Actually, I think they should just use coffee crystals and not worry about brewed coffee.

Best machine for the money
I love this machine, and I've had it for several years (2009). It brews hot coffee quickly (I use the burr feature). The metal pot keeps it hot for at least an hour... don't know about after because I drink what I brew within the hour. When I have company I drew the 12 cups... usually have to make a second pot within an hour. It's a bit of a pain to clean, but that's part of grinding beans. To me, it's worth the effort because my coffee comes out delicious, whether I use the medium setting or the strong setting. I purchased one of these for each of my two daughters and they love their machines too. I guess some people just like to gripe. Only problem I've had was that the numbers indicating water level rubbed off after I while. I called Cuisinart to see if I could get a replacement set of numbers, which they said they didn't have, but they would be willing to send me a new machine. I told them "no thanks"... I just used a permanent marker to remark the glass tube on the side... I wasn't giving back my machine. When you have something that works for you, stay with it....LOL coming up on 50 years of marriage, so you get my drift.

Best drip coffee I have ever had
I have had this for 9 months now and I absolutely love it. I did a ton of research, read tons of reviews and finally pulled the trigger on this one. So happy I did. This makes AMAZING coffee. Quite frankly, the best drip I have ever had. The burr grinder is key. Crushing the coffee beans instead of chopping makes a world of difference and you can definitely taste the difference in the coffee. A more aromatic, smoother and buttery taste. It is a very high quality coffee maker too. All the parts are very durable and seemingly long lasting. Being that it is all-in-one makes it super convenient to make coffee in the morning when on the go (just make sure you clean at night as it can be a bit tedious to clean) If you are not sure, you won't regret this purchase. Highly recommended!

Really Good Grind & Brew.........For the Money
Cuisinart DGB-900BC is replacing another Cuisinart (Blade) Grind & Brew, which grinder stopped working. We liked the Cuisinart Brew System however the Blade Grinder would get so filthy from moisture each time used we tended to grind quality beans at the store......I 'd already decided my next Coffee Brewer would have a Burr Grinder. The Grinder always has some ground coffee behind in the shute, however it's dry and is easy brushed into filter basket and ready for the next brew......read below when I discuss the grinder Coffee Quality: EXCELLENT We tend to drink our coffee in the morning with before during and just after breakfast -- but when the pot is killed that's it -- we love our coffee strong and natural. We exclusively use the Grind & Brew each morning -- when we bother to program the Grind & Brew to go off automatically -- it acts as a great alarm system heard up in our 2 floor bedroom......the aroma of our dark roast beans being fresh ground fills the kitchen, followed by the smell and sound of fresh coffee dripping into the stainless steel carafe . The taste is cleaner, and smooth even brewed on the strongest brew settings. Adding Water & Filtration: On the back right side of the Coffee Maker there is a Water/Float to measure your water level [see photos]. This unit comes with a replaceable water filter (2) additional filters are reasonably priced. 3 Brew Strengths - from mild to strong - it's set by a bar graph on the LCD Display [see photos] My guess is anyone interested in this Coffeemaker is looking for a quality cup of coffee and that may take you a little time to tweak....At first we were discouraged having paid abt $100 more than the maker we were replacing -- but by continuing to tweak the ratio of Cups of Water to Coffee to be Ground ......it took me a couple of days to get the device working to our taste satisfaction. In our 2 person household, our perfect settings are -- Strength [STRONG], Grinder Setting [8 cups], Water [6 cups].........basically if I grind 2 extra cups of coffee beans to amount of water it works best for us…..again the quality of brew is excellent. Cleaning out Grinder: see photos of grinder shute I clean out the grinder shute every 3rd day -- the nice thing is you remove your old grinds -- clean out your filter basket and put back in place with filter basket lid off......remove the coffee bean hopper on top.......open the hatch which reveals the "grinder shute" -- I use a sem-stiff brush used for Tempera Paints......and a sharp pic like a bamboo skewer.......the ground coffee gets dropped into the clean filter basket to be brewed in your next coffee pot. Coffee Carafe and Hot Plate The carafe is stainless steel, which helps keep the coffee warm for abt 30 minutes. There is a “Hot plate” that stays on for abt 5-10 minutes. By the time we get to a 3rd refill the coffee is warm but not hot and gets a quick 30 second reheat in the microwave……….What is great is any leftover coffee tastes as good after reheating as fresh brewed. Pros: Burr Grinder Stores ½ lb whole beans Just add water and press ON Custom brew strength Programmable Timer Cons: Coffee Carafe a little difficult to pour from Hot Plate -- would prefer option to set warmer times

Best all in 1 Coffee Brew/ Burr Grinder unit
Ok here we go with a completely honest review with long term input. I have had this exact unit for over 11 years with almost no issues what so ever. I did have to replace a item due to me getting lazy and.putting stuff in dishwasher which ya don't do. But until last week when it gave up the ghost again due to me letting it crash over in trunk if car ,oops. Anyways there was no hesitation in buying this unit again. #1 I drink a ton of coffee each day for joy and medical reasons,20-40 cups. #2 this unit is only one that has a Burr grinder, best type grinder for coffee beans. #3 Cuisinart makes good stuff and I'm not sure how long this has been in market but that it still is says a lot. Now to address some negative postings I've seen on Amazon. First no matter what you buy mass produced you can have issues occasionally not to mention the lovely handling during shipping that occurs, nuff said. Secondly there are good balls that post reviews that are completely unfounded and untrue. I'll use the good ball who stated his heating tray that his pot sets in has electrical shorts in heating element and arcs. Uh Sorry good ball that isn't a heating pad and has no electric in it it's a tray for dbl insulated pot to rest in ONLY. Now another saying it takes them 30 minutes to clean. Well if it dies your a waste of space as from washing items by hand takes me ohh few minutes tops to removing bean tray when beans need replacing, best time to do takes me oh another 2 minutes. Drama queens I guess. So Here we go actual review time😁. As stated I drink a ton of coffee and this unit alwaymakes a great coffee. The Burr grinder is definitely the main reason and of course coffee bean choice is totally individual taste. You have 3 strengths of grind levels, low ,medium.and strong flavors. Yes it has programmable option if want to use. Typical time for say 6 cups is few minutes maybe 3-5 depending. This unit also which is super nice feature a water filter that if you keep replaced seriously helps keep flavors from getting funky from treated water supplies. Bean tray holds about half a pound of beans and easily filled at top of machine.Pls make sure when filling water reservoir not to get water in this tray area. I use faucet sprayer and insert into water tray to avoid it,using coffee pot is much tougher lol. Ok cleaning lol that some find so very hard LMAO. Uhh wash by hand all items, pot, spinner thingy that pulls apart, coffee basket, and basket holder. Literally just quick wash/rinse is all needed. Ok Bean tray at top of machine ! There is a channel under this tray that needs to be brushed clean,I do this Everytime beans need be filled 😉. This new unit they made a few changes to make it much easier,ty Cuisinart. Ok take top cover off and then twist large black dial knob to left or counter clockwise until tray pops loose.set unit aside and look below that and you'll see a lever that moves to left with spring effect and a tab believe both gray color now. Take that tab and push towards back of machine slowly ntil it pops loose and swings open. You have now entered the mysterious channel lol. Take supplied brush and sweep coffee grounds from back in tunnel while at same time holding that lever to left and sweep ground into a napkin that should be sitting where coffy pot goes had I told you before now LMAO. That's it I mean first time it gonna take a few minutes but after literally 1-2 minutes max and this is only once every time beans need be refilled and this is just MY ROUTINE. So in all of you don't buy into all this K cup stuff that actually cost a bunch more than this way and doesn't come close to same flavors this unit is top notch in my humble opinion. I have had coffee beans from Kona flown in to all kinds of different types from around the Globe you can get. Love some hated some but funny I have settled on 8 o'clock regular flavor coffee beans which you can buy 2#'s for around $12 and last you a month or so depending on useage,me 2 weeks. When tried K cups it was about $.75- 1.00 cup figure that with my 20-40 a day brews. Well I'm done ranting n ravjng but hope you give this unit a try if serious about coffee and I'll say if you contact customer service they are super at Cuisinart. Luv Y'all Enjoy

Amazing!!
If you're trying to decide just buy it!! The wife and I put off buying this for over a year and I'm glad we finally did! Makes great tasting strong coffee to strong for us in fact. We used a rounded 1/3 cup of folgers on the strong setting on our old coffee maker; on this one set to 12 cups and strong was a little to much. We now have it set to 10 cups and strong and its just right. The taste of the coffee is soo much better than folgers due in part to filtered water and fresh ground beans. Also, this shuts completely off after brew which is very nice. Cleaning: Although not difficult to do it is time consuming considering you have to do it every day to ensure proper operation. And the chute/hopper needs clean about every 3 uses but every 7-10 is recommended. Noise: The burr grinder is extremely noisey (Like wake the dead) first time it went off it actually scarred me outta bed and i'm a heavy sleeper. Now it's a third alarm clock. Metal pot: AMAZING keeps the coffee piping hot for about 5 hours and warm to about 7 anything over that and it'll need microwaved. Cost: If you're trying to "save money" on coffee this is not for you. You are spoiling yourself. Beans especially good ones aren't cheap and this thing uses alot of beans!! normally 3 lbs of grounds lasts me over a month I'm 2 weeks into this and over half way through a 3 lb bag of beans. Which is over doubling almost going to triple my coffee cost. However, with that being said this fresh coffee has curved my wifes dutch bro craving which is saving a little on its own as well. BOTTOM LINE: BUY IT!! even with its down sides its still very worth it. ***UPDATE*** Six weeks in now and the metal pot has sprung a small leak. It doesn't leak everyday and it doesn't leak a lot it is however, leaking and out the bottom seam. Also I'm not %100 sure the cup selector is working properly anything under 6 cups is ok anything over that and it fills the basket so full that when it brews it makes a huge mess inside the basket area and on the basket lid it has yet to spill completely out. With all that being said the coffee still tastes amazing!! We still have some folgers left and tried it the morning before last and we could barely drink it it tasted horrible compared to fresh ground.

Great Coffee Maker Grinder
This is the third Cuisinart we have had, the last 2 just wore out and we were going to use a different brand and model. However after much research and many reviews there are a lot of grinder coffee makers out there but many of them have problems. We purchased a Black & Decker with the blade built into the filter however it would leak water all over the counter. Other models i read reviews on had many other problems, so my wife and I went back to the Cuisinart. The Cusiinart DGB-900BC is a great coffee maker with grinder. It makes great fresh coffee and is easy to clean without taking apart a whole bunch of pieces. It still has the gold filter, holder and top to clean but the grinder part is really simple and you only have to clean it every 3rd time you fill up the coffee hopper. We use fresh beans from Hawaii with no flavor so they are not real oily so cleaning the grinder chute will vary by what beans you buy. This is overall a great product at a great price from Amazon and i would greatly recommend it.

so good. I don't mind paying a few hundred for ...
So far, so good. I don't mind paying a few hundred for a great machine which meets my criteria. We like a built-in grinder, but we want it to be easy to use and clean. I require a metal carafe, and I like the controls to be straightforward. A water filter is a nice touch. Prior incarnations of the Cuisinart Grind and Brew made great coffee but had too may separate compartments, with difficult chutes which would clog and were hard to clean and dry effectively. For the last several years, we had a Capresso which was fantastic ... until it wasn't and began leaking at random with no apparent way to fix the issue. After reading others' reviews, we came back to the Cuisinart. I really like the large hopper at the top (don't have to refill beans as often) and this model is very easy to clean in between pots. Controls are easy, and the carafe will keep the coffee warm for hours (literally had very warm coffee in the morning from a pot brewed the prior afternoon). We make at least one pot per day and several pots/day are brewed on the weekends.Love it thus far!

Great Machine!
I waited several weeks before writing this review. I wanted to see how well the coffeemaker functioned for a bit. So far, I love it! I had the previous Grind and Brew model and this one is much easier. Yes, it takes a bit of time to fill the bean hopper and clean out the shoot of packed coffee grounds but you don’t do that every day and it really only takes a minute. Just make sure you have the basket (with a filter but without the lid) in place to catch the grounds. Some reviewers had complained that the pot leaks or spills. I’ve only experienced that problem once—-when I didn’t have the lid fully on. So, I suspect user error in some of those complaints. I really like being able to fill the hopper on top and not worry about it for several days. And, most importantly, the coffee is great! I’m very happy with this purchase.

Great machine, lasted YEARS!
My husband and I have had a ' Grind and Brew' ever since the product came out, so many years ago that we can't remember how long we've had it. We had the one with the glass pot, which we really liked. When it finally gave out, we bought the one with the thermal pot, because we couldn't find one with a glass pot. The new one actually seems to brew the coffee faster, but only has one beep instead of 4 beeps when it is finished brewing. It also turns the machine off automatically, which the old one did not. We only drink coffee in the morning, so having it in a thermal pot is not really necessary for us. The only problem with the thermal pot is that it is very hard to empty all the coffee out into cups. The pot almost has to be turned upside down. We discovered that our old glass coffee pot does fit on the new machine, so that is what we are now using. The glass pot also has the indications of the water level you want to refill the machine. Any way, we are very happy with the machine, and also love the coffee it brews!
